[pre-release] macOS Big Sur

@MacPato Hi, compiled latest OpenCore and main Kexts, updated my EFI folder and all...

Added vsmcgen=1 to boot-args...

Was able to boot Catalina just fine with the new Boot loader.

Currently downloading beta 2...

Do I absolutely need to remove those kernel NVRAM entries for Big Sur to work?

PS: Doing a direct upgrade from Catalina.

Anyone else having trouble downloading Beta2?

on Catalina, updater is only trying to pull down Big Sur beta 1.

in Big Sur beta 1, it “sees” beta2, but won’t download... failing saying check my net connection that is working just fine :hysterical:

@iCanaro Potresti inviare il tuo EFI, ottengo il panico del kernel quando provo ad avviare il programma di installazione dell'aggiornamento con il mio attuale EFI

my EFI has nothing special if you had hacks configured for good and you were starting beta 1, just use OC 060 compiled now as well as LILU and fresh build plugins. no makeup or mystery, but so much, so much skill of the acidanthera team

Did you have to make any special changes to Config Plist?

@Pavo

beta 2 installed and running? Any changes had to be made inside EFI?

If you are currently booting with the booter nvram variables, they need to be removed and you need to add vsmcgen=1 into boot-args for the first 2 reboots.

This is how I boot to Beta 1. What exactly I have to remove, please?

I need to install CodecCommander.kext to Library/Extension for Creative CA0132, it won't work from any bootloader kext folder (OC or Clover). But i saw wern apfel made commit into appleALC.kext for CA0132, so CodeCommander can be loaded from OC / CLOVER kext folder later (let's talk about these later)

These command is not work.
======
sudo chown -R root:wheel /Library/Extensions
sudo chmod -R 755 /Library/Extensions
sudo kmutil install --update-all
sudo kcditto
======

CodecCommander is not loaded after reboot. Any new update to do this?

you can remove vsmcgen=1 once you've updated into beta 2. That's all

I've chosen to keep it active throughout since it doesn't harm me

10.16 or 11.0?

you must not. update your opencore, lilu, weg, vsmc.

Already done so :)

My Catalina install is currently booted using latest dev snapshots of OC 0.6.0 + Main Kexts.

(In EFI linked below : generate platforminfo, adapt SSDTs and Kexts with your hardware and edit config.plist with TextMate - works on Gigabyte Mobos with Msr2 locked if not set under Quirks :

            <false/>
