no, you dont need to remove appleefiruntime

this has been fixed since v3

and, for those who get error like "No such file or directory", this is because the filename for bootloader is boot_v4(boot_v3)

but in readme.txt, its boot...also, replace rdiskXsX with ur own disk id.

All right, we need a solid guide to get this working. I'm going to try this later this week, documenting carefully, and if no one has a guide by then I will go ahead and write it up and post it to the forum. :P

Better yet, how about a postpatch script ala BrazilMac's hack? I'm not too keen on *nix stuff, but I think I know enough to write a script if a more advanced user could check it for me.

To start me off, could someone tell me what kexts need to stay, what need to go, and what need to be replaced, to run as Vanilla as possible?

so stupid question. i used the brazilmac patches. can i just restore all the default kexts from the original leopard install disc now that i've switched the bootloader? i've just replaced the AppleSMBIOS kext from the v3 patcher.

same here on my core duo 1.83 ghz when replacing the kernel.

Doesn't work for either my desktop or my notebook. If I use the stock kernel, I get endless reboots, just as I did before I installed the new bootloader.

Yes you can, but be careful, make a backup of your working kexts.

In my case all original kexts worked, but I lose PS2 devices with original AppleACPIPlatform.kext fortunately with an Bluetooth mouse I could restablish the working kext.
