  1. This seems to have fixed the issues we were having on our old Dell PowerEdge R610 (random disconnects between the vSphere client and ESXi 5.5 host, console not functioning properly). Thanks!
  2. How to Install Mountain Lion on MacPro1,1

No luck with the 10.6.2 AppleIntelFramebuffer.kext. I'll keep looking around.
  3. How to Install Mountain Lion on MacPro1,1

It looks like the Lion kexts for GMA X3100 are 32-bit. After some research I found that the 10.6.2 update included 64-bit versions (returned to 32-bit in 10.6.3). I extracted all GMA related kexts from the 10.6.2 update and installed them to my 10.8 install. Upon reboot I now have a 64-bit AppleIntelGMAX3100.kext and AppleIntelGMAX3100FB.kext recognized in System Profiler. Even with 64-bit kexts, I still don't have full graphics. Not sure what else is needed at this point...I thought it might have been a 32-bit graphics issue but apparently there's something else needed...
  4. How to Install Mountain Lion on MacPro1,1

Update: Graphics are now detected. Installed the GMA X3100 kexts from my Lion Time Machine backup. I'm trying to enable QE/CI now... Well done! Up and running on my MacBook (Early 2008). Now on to the graphics issue (not detected after install). Everything else looks good so far.
  5. Works for me too. A very clear thread all in all from start to finish. I never thought I would get this running. Thanks for all the hard work.
  6. for those with gma 950 graphics where if the lid closes the display goes dark, the computer's running but you can't see anything...changing the screen resolution will wake the display up. to change the resolution without seeing anything... command + spacebar to get spotlight. type "screen resolution", wait a couple seconds, then hit enter hit the TAB button once press your UP arrow button once the display should wake up and you can change the resolution back to where it was before. this worked for me a couple times...hope i didn't forget a step! credit for discovering that the resolution wakes up the display goes to my roommate.
  7. the time machine and airport update worked successfully on my d620. just wanted to let everyone know after the main page post warned against installing it. i'm at kernel 9.2.2 right now.
  8. Just drag the text file on top of the HDA Patcher icon (it should be a frog) and let go. I hope this is what you were asking about...
  9. 10.5.2 works for me now. i followed the instructions on netkas.org and then replaced the kexts that i replaced originally and ran the sound patcher again. everything is smooth as can be!
  10. 10.5.2 is a killer. report any d620 success here. i'm going to work on it tomorrow. i ran the update on my external and it panicked out. i'll try to fix it and also try a reinstall tomorrow hopefully...
  11. i tried parallels and it didn't seem to work, although there might be a newer version out now. i'm running vmware fusion though, and i have no complaints at all. it's fantastic on the d620 in leopard.
  12. so the issues that are still unresolved are the wired ethernet adapter, dual core ability and sleep/wake right? i've been running os x on my d620 for a couple weeks now and it's been great!
  13. good to hear! can't wait to fix this sleep issue... the guide seems to be almost done.
  14. hey, is there any way you can upgrade to leopard or get a patched leopard install dvd? i think most of us are using 10.5 now. i never really got 10.4 going on my d620 and 10.5 is the newest and works great on the dell. it seems like a work in progress still. there's a thread here, where one guy has been trying to develop a native Broadcom 57xx driver for OS X that you can check out here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...256&hl=57xx In addition, this thread has been going on for a while. it looks like some people have had some success with the 5751 card which is probably really similar to the 5752 card. check it out here: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...abit&st=360 if anyone has any other links to the broadcom 57xx driver post them here...
