After a BIOS reset and a creating a new installer with a fresh clover r4187 with clean config and kexts, I managed to install macOS High Sierra DP 7 on Asus Prime Z270-A successfully with an AMD RX 560 4GB :)

the SATA ports work OOB without the need of SATA-200-series-unsupported.kext ;)

I'm getting a strange issue after a fresh install (db7) (apfs).

fs_get_inode_with_hint:8012: failed to load inode 547037 ret 22

Error loading kernel cache (0xe)

Boot failed, sleeping for 10 seconds before exiting...

Laptop in my sig.

Wiped HDD with Yosemite, created partitions, reboot into High Sierra installer. Format High Sierra partition as APFS. Install without issue but upon trying to boot into the actual os I get the error above.

 

O/T Sierra 10.12.6 installs fine but always creates coreStorage that I have to revert.

 

Samsung 850 EVO 500g SSD. Latest firmware installed.

I just removed serial number/MLB and themes

The 13.0.41 is the version of the Installer app not the version or the build number of the macOS, check the version of macOS by using the "Get Info" if the version is 13.0.57 then it is the DP 7 otherwise you need to remove the installer and download it again.

Can you post your Clover boot.log so I can see if you implemented the changes correctly?  Also, you have several Clover DSDT patches even though you use a custom DSDT.  I didn't know why you used them so I didn't try to change them.  You might try to remove as much from your config.plist as possible and see if you can get your video to load.  The less you have, the easier it is to isolate the problem.

Post the boot log in clover with your dsdt and config.list.  Thanks for trying to help me.

Last night I can easily reach the installer screen but now same USB I always getting OSInstall.mpkg error? What am I doing wrong?

You either use an old SMBIOS settings, or you have EmuVaraiableUEFI.efi and if you have windows installed on another or the same hard disk you'll get the OSInstall.mpkg error.

SO update your SMBIOS info, remove EmuVaraiableUEFI.efi from the /EFI/Clover/driversUEFI64 and the nvram.plist from the EFI root on your bootable device (USB) and unplug windows disk if you have any.

Try reinstalling Clover without selecting CsmVideoDxe-64.  I made further modifications to your config.plist.  You may lose some functionality with my deletions (or even get a KP).  However, our goal is to rule out anything that might be preventing video from loading so we need to delete all non-essential settings.  We can try putting them back after you get video to load with DP6.

Is it normal for GPU to drop to x8 PCIe width after installing an NVMe M.2 x4 drive in High Sierra?

 

Seems like there should be more than enough PCIe lanes on a Z270 board to accommodate the full x16 slot width.

Depends on the board, most will drop to x8 when using the second x16 or x4 PCIe slot.

how do I choose between HFS+ and APFS?

it's converting to APFS automatically :(

 

Before stage 2 start to install, try to edit true to be false. It may works fine.

I tried Your suggested option in kext only FakeSMC.kext и VoodooPS2Controller.kext , but the error is similar as before, log and photo attached.

i checked all parts of macpro5,1 firmware to search ff/ffm information. strange. also shown other pattern compared to other firmware as what i known

macpro5,1 can't see correct ff/ffm infomation.

 

if you can test, try this

MP51.88Z.0084.B00.1708080528 and not use ff/ffm at config with clover r4184.

One main thing. My board has 4 SATA controllers: ICH10R, 2x JMicron(s) and Marvell (see my signature). Earlier I had problems with connected HDDs to first 0,1,2 ports of ICH10 and both JM, but no problem with Marvell. Though yesterday I booted only with Marvell and absolutely w\o any problem updated system to Dev7 from AppStore. Yep.

If you look at your own preboot.log, you can see that you didn't disable CsmVideoDxe-64.

Keep working at this.  It look me 6 days to figure out what I needed to do and to actually do it.  If it helps, compare your preboot.log with mine.

Mine's pretty messy. You can see that I start using one config.plist (which I use for Sierra) and switched to a different config.plist to boot to High Sierra.  You can also see that I have multiple DSDT files and use DSDT.aml to boot to Sierra and DSDT1.aml to boot to High Sierra.  I have to have separate DSDT files because, when I disable my Radeon GPU in my DSDT, I get a KP in Sierra but HAVE TO disable my Radeon GPU in order to get High Sierra to boot.

I always have a USB OS X  to use in emergency !

I loaded High Sierra USB . ran the High Sierra app on USB!

High Sierra installed to the USB !

From the install folder it made I ran the mkginstaller from package folder.

It updated Sierra ! Boots and runs but lots of problems with Finder. 

will not except my ID password.

When I get OS X running well on USB !! I restore to HD.

 Now I only have Sierra working Great on My Dell 960 desktop with Clover.
