  1. I successfully installed macOS 10.11.6 and Windows 7 Pro SP1 in UEFI mode on the laptop. I know, there are detailed guides here and on osxlatitude.com but I was not agree with them and carefully check and test every step to tune my Mac. Hardware Intel® Core™ i5-3320M CPU @ 2.60GHz, speedstep works with Clover default settings Chipset Intel 7 series, no patches needed Video: IntelHD4000 or NVS5200M switchable in BIOS, work in both cases LAN; Intel 82579LM, works with IntelMausiEthernet.kext v2.2.1 Audio: IDT 92HD93BXX, works with VoodooHDA 2.9.0. SDHC reader O2Micro; works with native AppleSDHC.kext with Clover Arbitrary properties. USB3.0 works natively if not disabled in DSDT PS2 keyboard and touchpad works with VoodooPS2. WiFi: Dell Intel WiFi was replaced by Dell DW1520, Broadcom BCM943224HMS. DeviceID=4353 LCD Screen 1366x768 BIOS A12. Initially was A02. Then I flashed A23 and found it is quite bad. The screen is full of artefacts. Flash A12 and all is OK. Not tested other versions. For some reason BIOS can switched from Intel to Nvidia by itself so I have to do my solution working independent on this state. WiFi It is not working OOB although it has DeviceID known to Apple. The reason is WhiteList in the driver. I set MacModel as MacBookPro10,1 while the WiFi will work on MacBookAir. I make a patch in Clover. As well a patch for channels. I deleted a kext Brcm4331 because it has the same DeviceID. Let kext Brcm4360 to work alone. VideoCards In Bios we can set Optimus = Enable/Disable If Enable then we have two videocards Intel first and Nvidia second. In this case additional SSDT-3.aml will switch off Nvidia. If Disable then we have only Nvidia card. It will work if Board-ID taken from iMac13,2. But here there is contradiction with WiFi with required Board-ID from MacBookAir. So I take MacModel as MacBookPro10,1 which is most close by CPU IvyBridge. Set BoardID like iMac13,2 to make Nvidia working. Patch BoardID in Brcm4360 to make WiFi working. Now I have Inject-> ->Intel=YES ->Nvidia=YES and SSDT-3.aml in ACPI\patched folder. This SSDT will switch off Nvidia if Intel card ON. For Intel graphics there is a patch against 8 apples at start. Brightness No special kexts. The brightness controlled by keys F1,F2 and slider in Control Panel in both case Intel or Nvidia. Details here #72 DSDT and SSDT This is very long story and finally I have working sleep in both cases Intel or Nvidia. Sensors I use my HWSensors3 with FakeSMC 3.5.0. I got monitoring: CPU temperature GPU temperature GPU main frequency GPU shader frequency Battery state % full, time to charged or time to empty. Battery voltage dinamically. Battery amperage dynamically. I can see it changes on heavy games. HDD temperature. Audio I like VoodooHDA and have no problems with it. The sound is clear, loud, and switchable between internal speaker and headphone. Mic is working. Bluetooth Just tested with BTFirmwareUpdate.kext and it works. I not needed it so switched off by wireless switch at right side. Keyboard, Touchpad and Touchstick Post #14 My config, ACPI files and kexts are in attachment. 05.12.2017 EFI.7z EDITED: Better DSDT in the post #6. Sleep working even when AC inserted. Welcome to discussion!
  2. Hello guys. As some of you know, the option fast startup cause some problems in dual-boot Hacks, this happens because the Hibernation mode. But is possible you keep the fast startup on, and disable Hibernation: 1 - powercfg /h /type reduced This command line will reduce the size of hiberfile.sys file, in simple words, will cut the file in the half. Some people recommend solve that by using this command line bellow: 2 - powercfg /hibernate off But if you do that, you'll disable Hibernation and Fast Startup. Use the first command line in Command Prompt (Admin) above (1º), and you'll enjoy this great resource in your dual-boot.

  5. This guide makes an installation of macOS 10.12 Sierra on a real MacPro3,1 or other unsupported Mac's or Hackintosh's possible! Edit: Update for GM post #9 What we need for this: Atom.app or Atom Beta.App Flat Package Editor.app (from /Developer/Applications/Utilities/PackageMaker.app/Contents/Resources/) Download Install 10.12 Developer Preview.app In addition: (All files are intended for MacPro3,1, possibly you have a grudge here your BoardID) Archiv1.zip Archiv2.zip USB flash drive creation ( 8GB / Created flash drive with the BaseSystem.dmg method! does not work with the createinstallmedia method! ): 1. Restore BaseSystem.dmg from the InstallShield Developer 10.12 Preview.app out of your Program Files folder with the disk utility on the USB flash drive 2. Delete the simlink packages under "/Volumes/USB/System/Installation/" 3. Copy the original package folder from the Install 10.12 Developer Preview.app to "/Volumes/USB/System/Installation/" 3.1 optional: install Clover (only for Hackintosh and this Method) 4. Replace the InstallableMachines.plist in /Volumes/USB/System/Installation/Packages/ with from Archiv1.zip 5. Replace the PlatformSupport.plist in /Volumes/USB/System/Library/Core Services/ with from Archiv1.zip 6. Copy the OSInstall.mpkg from /Volumes/USB/System/Installation/Packages/ to the desktop 7. Open this by right-clicking the Flat Package Editor 8. Delete the file "Distribution" and replace with file from Archiv1.zip (Previously open possibly this file with Atom.app and edit your BoardID after) 9. Replace now the OSInstall.mpkg in /Volumes/USB/System/Installation/Packages/ with the file from the desktop 10. Now you can start, the Mac reboots with pinned Alt key and select your USB flash drive. Make here the installation on a free selected by you partition. The installation starts, then the computer reboots. 11. While it is booting Alt hold, so it will not boot into fresh Sierra. Instead, choose your example Capitan and ride high order. 12. Go here now in the Finder to the fresh Sierra HDD in /Volumes/Sierra/System/Library/Core Services/ and replacing there the file "PlatformSupport.plist" from the Archiv2.zip 13. That's it, do restart in the fresh Sierra and let the installation run through to the end. Credits/Sources InsanelyMac root86 Slice for the Clover Bootloader Developers of Atom.app and Flat Package Editor.app and all the others have fun

  9. Section 1: How to make Clover default bootloader after Installing Windows on UEFI. If you installed windows on you Hackintosh and now you don’t have access to your macOS anymore this guide will help you to get back the clover as the main bootloader. The reason that this is happening is because when you install windows after installing macOS the UEFI bootloader will change from: \EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI (Clover bootloader) to \EF\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi So, in order to make clover the default bootloader again you need to edit the UEFI boot entries and change the boot media file from “bootmgrfw.efi” to “BOOTX64.EFI” and here is how to do that. I personally use BOOTICEx64 which is for 64Bit version of windows and if you use 32Bit version of Windows you need to use the x86 version. Original Download Source Alternative download link. Here is what you need to do: 1. Open BOOTICE and from the tabs on the top select “UEFI” 2. Click “Edit Boot Entries” button 3. From UEFI boot entries select “Windows Boot Manager” 4. From “Boot entry configurations” change “Menu Title” from “Windows Boot Manager” to whatever name that you like, I changed mine to “macOS Sierra” because that’s the version of the macOS that I have and from “Media file” change “\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi” to “\EFI\BOOT\BOOTX64.EFI” and finally select “Boot this entry next time” Now save the new entries by clicking “Save current boot entry” 5. By clicking the “Save current boot entry” you will see the confirmation window. Click ok and you’re done. 6. Now restart your computer and now you will see Clover’s boot menu and boot into macOS. "Thanks to Pauly for BOOTICE" Section 2: Here’s how to create a custom entry to rename the Boot Microsoft EFI Boot from EFI to "Windows 10" 1. Open clover configurator and select GUI 2. Click the + sign to add a new Boot entry. 3. From the Volume drop down menu select the EFI partition that has the “Microsoft” boot files. In my case it is the EFI (disk2) 4. Add your desired name for the new custom entry like “Windows 10” or whatever you like, Click the “Title / FullTitle” check box. Select the type of the Operating system that you are creating the custom entry for which again in this case it is Windows and then select the volume type which is an internal disk in this case. 5. Save you settings and reboot. If you have done exactly as instructed here then you will see the new entry in the clover’s boot menu. To easily hide unwanted partitions in clover's boot menu without having to create the custom entries using clover configurator see this post.
  10. On December 31, a new unpatched vulnerability in macOS went public, with all versions of the desktop operating system said to be affected, possibly including version 10.13.2 which was released on December 6. Published by security researcher Siguza on Twitter, the security flaw allows an attacker to obtain root access and take full control of a system, though it’s important to know that a successful exploit requires local access to the computer to execute arbitrary code. The local privilege escalation (LPE) vulnerability was discovered after the researcher started inspecting the iOS kernel for security flaws, only to discover the glitch in an extension of IOHIDFamily called IOHIDSystem that’s exclusively used on macOS. This particular component is required for human interface devices (HID). Source: Softpedia Original @Siguza's tweet, GitHub.
