I like the release and install was smooth on a HP DC7700cmt and 7700sff. The only problem for me was the ethernet card did not work, this PCI card "Intel" card worked in every release I tested out of the box but this one. I had to repleace the IONetworkingFamily.kext on your release with one from another. The iDeneb IONetworkingFamily.kext was 1.7mb and the one from Kalyway is 3.8mb. I simply replaced it and repaied permission and everything is working now.

This was my check list for HP DC7700 PC's

Audio = AppleAzalianAudio

Chipset = ICHx Fixed

Fix = AppleSMBIOS

- AppleSMBIOS 667

- AppleSMBIOS MacPro

Video = NVinject

- NVInject 0.2.1 512mb

Thanks for the well packaged release.

I hane an AMD system with Asus A8R32-MVP motherboard with ATI X1950XTX but the system just loops in the do not transfer..... initial screen after the back-up the same problem I had also with the older 1.5.4 iDeneb and Ireally cant find any solution how can I bypass that how can I chek any error codes in case of debugging the situation. I feell that that mess is cause only iDeneb DVDs . I had no such problems with Kaly... I someone has any idea please help I had made 5 instalations till now but nothing. The procedure of the loop is as follows

1. boot by rd=disk3s5 (I have not find a easy multiboot solution yet except form Kaly)

2. Determines the keyboard by pressing the left and right from shifts

3.ask the country

4 then the keyboard language

5 the stuck point next is tranfer licence etc (we allways choose do not transfer...) then system tries for something and then back to the 1st step....

Any help please it will be apreciated

Hi Layne_

picture1sh0.png

could you please tell me how to fix this error ? The two installers are rather essential (printer driver and office updater) and both relate to the same error.

Is there a solution for this ? Thanks ! Except for this error, everything installed fine on my specs.

Try unplugging the Ethernet adapter so that you have no network connection.

Hi Layne,

For some reason, I had to replace the Extensions.mkext with the one from v1.1 on the DVD. Otherwise, I couldn't boot into the installation screen (still waiting for boot device).

After that, everything works fine so far on my Acer Extensa 4420-5239. Nice job.

Can you add ALC 268 driver on your next iDeneb? Here is the link:

Thanks.

Chun-Nan

BTW, for those who have ATI IXP600/IXP700 (SB600/SB700), if your internal PATA devices don't show up after installation, you can give this kext a try. It works on my Acer Extensa but it may conflict with AppleVIAATA.

Thanks.

you can empty the folder inbox? I do not succeed to send you a pm

Well, no success here ;):angry: , after painless v1.1 (10.5.4) now very painfull v1.3. Seems to get stuck on video (HD3870/ATI), read about more failures with this GPU on this topic. -v shows no particular error s except the obvious Firewire and something about mDNS resolvers. Video is scrambled after finishing boot, however I do have a mouse pointer, but actually can't do anything.....

Anyone who has a solution?

@delios

Found the solution in another post, but I don't know where... fortunately I wrote it down:

boot with -s for single user

enter the two commands it lists at the bottom to mount your drives

then enter

passwd root

make up a password, enter it twice

then enter this command:

touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone

(note the dot after db/)

reboot and you should be able to login with user root and password you typed

Please help.

Install was successful, video, audio, lan. All works out of the box.

But disk performance is terrible!

I've installed on an IDE ATA100 drive and it takes ages to open anything, browsing with safari is painfully slow etc.

I think it's an issue with ata drivers, but I don't know.

I have an Nforce board. I booted ubuntu and did lspci -nn to find out my vendor id etc.

It was 10de:036e, then I checked AppleNForceATA.kext but it was already there under PATA. :S

I was running Zephyroth 10.5.2 before and it was very quick and responsive.. But this is just very very slow. ;)

PLEASE help, what can I do?

Mainboard etc in signature.

Also ran XBench..
