  1. Hi, I'm quite new to this, but I thought, let's give it a try... Basics: Vista on HD0 (device80), OSX (iPC10.5.6/EFI9/MBR) on HD4 (device84). Run BCD Edit on Vista, selected OSX/EFI, nothing else. Restart: Bootmenu appears, I can choose between Vista/OSX (as it should be) I choose OSX: no bootloader found..... (I have the option to press a key within 2 seconds; when I do, and I choose device #84 (i.e. my HD with OSX on it), OSX starts. Sounds very well, but how can I start OSX without the annoying delay of pressing a key and entering the devicenumber? Shouldn't be to difficult, one should think....?

    iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Nope, if the scrambled screen appears, you'll have to restart (I just did a hard reset), and boot up with the -x -s options (single user/safe mode). Then you can apply the .pkg Successs!
  3. Suddenly, my OSX86 system refuses to boot, i.e. get bstuck after the Chameleon/EFI loader (boot0 or something like it flashes around the screen). Usually, hereafter the screen in which you can press a key (within x seconds) to choose bootdisk and/or -f/-v/-x/-s options appears, but in my case, there is a warning about a missing apple.boot.plist (or something like it, i'm sitting somewhere else at this moment). I can boot into 10.5.4 using a generic.iso CDROM, and starting from it gives the normal 'boot-menu'. (in which you normally put the -v, etc. options). So I guess my boot-partition (the invisible??one??) is gone to some kind of heaven. How can I restore it without (again) reinstalling iDeneb? (I'm using MBR, not GPT) I did a little research around here, but in fact, all the info about Chameleon/EFI/Boot132 puts me in a higher state of complete numbness (NOOBness might be a better word) once more.......... And maybe the other question: is this a strange situation, a suddenly disappearing partition? It seems it even screwed up my Vista-partitions, also strange behavior of HD's in Vista. Or can it be a shared partition (Fat32) both used for Mac and Windoze throws dirt on my disks?

    iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Thats it!!! Got my GPU working, QE/CI etc working. Orange diskicons gone by editing IOAHCIFamily.kext, JMicron shown as JMicron (AHCI) by editing AppleAHCIPort.kext. Things to do: ICH8R is shown as Unknown AHCI-controller. Solution?????? During -v startup there is something about a USB device Unkknown; this message seems to repeat several times! Solution??????

    iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Yes, I have chosen HD3870 during setup, but I saw there are many problems with Ati-drivers in combination with 10.5.5. Workaround is in progress?

    iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Well, no success here , after painless v1.1 (10.5.4) now very painfull v1.3. Seems to get stuck on video (HD3870/ATI), read about more failures with this GPU on this topic. -v shows no particular error s except the obvious Firewire and something about mDNS resolvers. Video is scrambled after finishing boot, however I do have a mouse pointer, but actually can't do anything..... Anyone who has a solution?

JMicron 363 AHCI shown as unknown

Found it out already (see edit at #1), but thanks anyway!
  9. Hi, Got hing almost working perfectly, except my JMicron controller (AHCI, not IDE) is shown as unknown AHCI controller. I know from a former Kalyway-install, it can be shown as JMicron, but how do I do that? (see below for current config) EDIT: Finally did my homework.....edited AppleAHCIPort.kext and put the JMicroncode in it. Works like charm. For the interested, here's the code: <key>JMicronAHCI</key> <dict> <key>CFBundleIdentifier</key> <string>com.apple.driver.AppleAHCIPort</string> <key>Chipset Name</key> <string>JMB36x AHCI</string> <key>IOClass</key> <string>AppleAHCI</string> <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x2368197b 0x2363197b</string> <key>IOProbeScore</key> <integer>2000</integer> <key>IOProviderClass</key> <string>IOPCIDevice</string> <key>Vendor Name</key> <string>JMicron</string> </dict> Put it in AppleAHCIPort.kext, just beneath tje GenericAHCI key

    iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Badeendje, it is possible. I'm using v1.1 right now, and my finder is totally Nederlands (Dutch). You'll have to choose Dutch during setup (aangepaste installatie); and after reboot you'll have to put 'Nederlands' in top of the list in Preferences (Voorkeuren). It works here! For your interest: with 10.5.2 I used two installs over each other to get Dutch language. I.e. I first installed Leo4all5.2 to get Dutch language on a 'clean' partition, and afterward I installed kalyway10.2 (no Dutch language support) right over it (without formatting the partition). Don't know if something similar can be done with 10.5.4. But, above is not necessary, because iDeneb has 'native' support for Dutch. Badeendje, als je een link naar 10.5.5 hebt, mag ik die dan ook?
