I'll take a stab at it then Should I just default to reboot into firmware if a user presses the "Exit Clover" button you think? Or should I add a new button if OsIndicationsSupported is found? I don't know the UEFI spec well, however I thought that an exit button should tell tell the EFI to continue down the boot order chain.

If that is the "Exit Clover" button, all it does is throw me to a black screen till I manually reset. I'm booted with CSM disabled and secure boot disabled. If that is a dedicated "Reboot into Firmware" button I do not have it o.o I checked the clover revisions at sourceforge and didn't see any commit after my currently installed revision about adding that feature. I'm running 3320 installed from the official package on sourceforge. I know my system supports OsIndications since A. Windows uses it fine and B. manually setting it in OS X via "sudo nvram 8BE4DF61-93CA-11D2-AA0D-00E098032B8C:OsIndications=%01%00%00%00%00%00%00%00 && sudo reboot" reboots into my UEFI setup properly. I see EFI_OS_INDICATIONS_BOOT_TO_FW_UI referenced in OsxDxeCore, however I didn't take the time to trace it back extensively and I didn't see how it could be connected to the "Exit Clover" button(I only looked for like 5 minutes, you know your source better than I could glean in a short amount of time ). preboot.log: https://gist.github.com/winsock/2ff689f810b141e68fec

Hey @Slice. I have an enhancement request that could save many headaches with setting UEFI to "Ultra Fast" boot mode. I have been searching for a long time for how Windows does its "Restart to Firmware" button and never got any good results via googling. However just randomly while doing something else I came across an open source implementation of it. Since this is low priority most likely I may end up doing it myself and submitting a patch, however I have never setup a EDKII environment before so it might not be for a while. If you want to take a stab at it before I get around to it here is a pretty clean concise implementation from the bus1 repo. https://github.com/bus1/boot-efi/blob/master/src/boot/main.c#L1085 Example from systemd: http://fossies.org/linux/systemd/src/shared/efivars.c#l_104

OS X El Capitan Test Thread

I can get past that issue when disabling all USB3 controllers in the bios. However USB2 still won't enumerate for me.. So I boot, but have no mouse/kb.. Device name fixes are needed because of some weird decision at Apple to hard code each devices USB controllers and ports.. You can see this in AppleUSB(X/E)HCIPCI.kext
  5. As stated above, the USB subsystem is re-worked from scratch. Most Yosemite IO related kernel extensions and patches will not work. GenericUSBXHCI will cause a KP on El Capitan
  6. Read the release notes posted on the developer portal... It's a Dev-Beta for a reason. Even real Apple machines are having issues with USB. They are completely re-working the IO subsystem, or at least that's what it looks like to me AFAIK. The kernel extensions for the USB subsystem are clearly not production ready and just meant to be enough to get out to developer houses when I took a cursory look. https://developer.apple.com/library/prerelease/mac/releasenotes/General/rn-osx-10.11/index.html

I know i'm not aqua-mac but i have learned his awesome ways , and im sure he wont mind me lessing his work load. Here is a Tri-Sli GTX 480 gfx string, and a link to the driver installer he has made(make sure you have 10.6.4 installed). I didn't have any trouble with gtx 470 in sli so i wouldn't think that you have to remove the sli bridge. Heck i'm using monitors on both cards. Driver: aqua-mac's Installer GFX String: tri_sli_gtx_480.zip

Yay! I just got my sli gtx 470 to work with dual monitors, one monitor on the first and one on the second. I used aquamac's GTX 480 installer with GFX Strings. hagybear: I still get the fuzzy lines with GFX strings also. I think it is a coding error in the driver. AKA cannot be fixed without having the nVidia driver source.

Weird stuff is happing with GFX strings + the guide posted here. When i boot i do -v -f and when it finishes booting i get on my first monitor a terminal like screen that i can type in that blinks to a blue screen every 10 seconds or so. and on my second monitor i get a blue screen with nothing on it. Any ideas? 1st monitor is connected to card #1 though a DVI - vga connector 2nd monitor is connected to card #2 though a DVI - vga connector

Thank you very much. Also What drivers do i install now? Do i install the drivers listed on the front page and use the gfx string in my boot.plist. or do i do another method? Thanks!

If you could make some GFX strings that would be awesome, these are my PCI paths. Windows: PCIROOT(0)#PCI(0500)#PCI(0000) PCIROOT(0)#PCI(0300)#PCI(0000) I think this is what they are converted to mac format, but i could be wrong. PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x5,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0) PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x3,0x0)/Pci(0x0,0x0)

Do you have one for a GTX 470, or do you have any gfx strings i can use? Also i have the 470 in sli will this still work and will i get the benefit of sli in osx? Thanks
