  1. That's a bad link, but I was able to get everything working after I edited my DSDT ethernet card info using your guide here (thanks!). I can login/logout all day long, no issues.
  2. He's asking about a Core Duo, not a Core2Duo. They're not the same. The internal architecture is different.
  3. Flawlessly on mine (256MB). Now if it would just do the same in SnowLeo....
  4. iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

put the -s -v after rd=disk3s5 then do the steps from my post. The rd option makes it boot from the hard drive (well sorta). Your boot options should be: rd=disk3s5 -s -v
  5. iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

pwd just means "print working directory" which tells you what directory you're in, which is usually "/" (the root directory). Very odd that it couldn't find the passwd command. Are you booting from the install on hard drive, or the DVD? It won't work from the DVD as it's read-only. Also make sure you enter the two mount commands listed above the prompt (I forget the exact syntax and am in Windows atm so I can't check but it's something like /sbin/mount -fy etc). If passwd still doesn't work, let me know and I'll find out the exact path to it, but it may take me awhile, I'm d/l'ing JaS 10.5.4 so have no OSX atm. I'm sure someone else here knows where the passwd command is and will hopefully beat me to it. EDIT: a quick google search says it's in sbin so try /sbin/passwd root
  6. iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

Did you try my suggestion above? That was for 1.1 (10.5.4) I haven't even d/l'd 10.5.5, but the problem wasn't solved in .4 till I did the steps above (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?act=findpost&pid=910115) My guess is, no it probably won't work on IDE DVD. When Leopard first came out I couldn't get any version of it to install using my IDE DVD burner, so I went and bought a USB drive (hey I needed a dual-layer burner anyway) and then it worked. Sounds like a sleep issue to me. Do the lockups happen while you're actively using the machine, or after a period of inactivity?
  7. iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 Released!

@delios Found the solution in another post, but I don't know where... fortunately I wrote it down: boot with -s for single user enter the two commands it lists at the bottom to mount your drives then enter passwd root make up a password, enter it twice then enter this command: touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone (note the dot after db/) reboot and you should be able to login with user root and password you typed
  8. You're installing Tiger? Just kidding, couldn't resist
  9. Ditto UPDATE: I get further than that under VMware, so I'm thinking my RAID controller, which isn't seen in VMware, must be confusing the install in native. I'm going to try disabling my RAID controller. update: That wasn't it. I can see the reboot happens at system.kext/plugins/something so I'm going to try replacing those files on the dvd with the ones from iatkos, since iatkos installs for me (after replacing the kernel with an sse2 kernel) but doesn't work afterward. update: Failure again. This time at TMSafetyNet. Back to the drawing board.
  10. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

I used native (9a321) AppleACPIPlatform, but the ToH SSE2 kernel since my CPU doesn't have SSE3. Also I used the system.kext from ToH. I think the system.kext and the kernel have to be from the same rev.
  11. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

Tried IOATAFamily.kext from a working Tiger install?
  12. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

OK stopped some porn seeds, should be faster now oh and if you're the one using utorrent 1.6.1, you might want to update to 1.7.5
  13. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

    You can't fix stupid
  14. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

That's the goal, and why we need to download 321 complete. It's not as simple as it may seem, that's why we need more minds working on it. ToH is in a.b.boneless, 321 is on the bay.
  15. ATIRadeon9700 Patch?

I used the ToH kernel and stock 321 kexts, except for a couple for my sound/networking/ATA controller, installed with Pacifist.
