NET
i bet it didn't work the ppf patch is only for the iso posted on the demons too , not for the restore disk or anything else I hve puted the patch on normal 10.4.4 restore .dmg (pirate said that the dmg i s standart restore disc image) and the burnThisImage.iso was made, but i could not copy this iso anywhere because a few megabytes afther 4GB (all iso has 4.30 about) the system was saying that file is too large, but i finaly burned it into a dvd and using transmac on windows i have extracted the iso from the hfs dvd volume than burned using nero 7 and the dvd was booting (very slow but i was booting) when it finaly booted and started the installer the instalation was preety fast, but afther rebooting the boot error spalsh screen was shown (i think that i should boot with -s and make some fixes with kernel, but i'm not sure waht right now cause i'm sick and i'm not thinking clearly ) any ideas ? but most important : standard restore 10.4.4 can be patched with the 10.4.4 patch and can be installed (not only the one from deamon's) I got a problem with this DVD, when the install reach where you must choose a drive to install to, it doesn't list any partition on my SATA HDD (on an ASUS P5LD2-VM)Anyone got an idea? I installed WinXp before on it. Edit: Nevermind, I just reformated one partition with the disk manager i supposed that you have the free space or a separate partition for the OSX on the drive, (you said that you have installed the xp before) so before installing when you are in the installer choose from the upper menu "DIskUtility" and format the proper partition with HFS+ journaled filesystem, tahn you can close the disk utility and go back to a very biggining with the installer (using the back buttons, it will refresh the partition table) than you can proceed with instalation and the MAC volume should be shown in the window (be very cerfuly while formating, one little mestake and you can format a diffrent slice than you want , for example your windows slice so think before you will do anything and make backups) it should work afther installing if you will find uny problems with bootloader you can trye to use the grub for windows it's very easy to configure and it's working wieth windows linux and osx quite good. macgirl
Note To ALL: The DVD is fine... Whether you load it up in Daemon Tools, burn it to a DVD disc, Windows will only show 8 or so files... However, all the data is there. Just silly Windows being unable to see it That is beacuse the DVD is Hybrid (par ISO part HFS), the ISO part has the boot needed files as you can see. Diranged
Well, I'm impressed. I've got 10.4.5 working on an Athlon64 system at work, and now on my beast at home!: ***UPDATE: XBench scores with OpenGL turned off -- 68.46.. but its well over 150 when you turn off the disk tests*** 2x Opteron 256 CPUs (3.0GHz each!) 8GB DDR400 Memory 300GB Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM Drive (4x74GB Raptors reserved for Windows) Dual Nvidia 7800GTX Video Cards (though, only one works.. and not accelerated) Netgear Gigabit Card Logitech G15 Keyboard Logitech G5 Mouse Onboard Audio (AC97 I believe) Logitech Headset (USB -- also works great) I'm impressed.. the only thing not working is the video card, and SATA support. I could care less about SATA -- but some day it'd be nice to have accelerated support on my $800+ in video cards.. Other than that, its extremely fast. I'll post XBench scores later. NET
and how did this demon iso make? i think it was built with autupatcher. the sizes of burnthisimage.iso and hotiso are the same. what do u think? i've already said that i have made the Burn this image from 10.4.4 restore.dmg stright from new macbok and it has the same capacity and i have boooted correctly on my PC and installed corectly (booting and starting installer was very very slow, but aftherthat the instalation was very fast) I have got a question, when using the patched 10.4.4restore disc , while installing the 10.4.4 afther patching and burning i can install office 2004 iwork and iLife + many other software included into the installers advanced menu, what should i do? cause the installer sais that I will need installation disc 2 ? so i need another DVD ? i have got only the 10.4.4 restore dmg. does unybody knows are there other aditional dvd's or what ? and where can I get them ? and what burning program is working under 10.4.3 without a problem and is working with ISO images (I can't find serial for disc-o, and dragon burn is not starting corectly, what are you using ? cause i'm copying all the stuf to another disc and burning under Window and that's not to good for me and takes too much time)) Seed this 10.4.4 with 10.4.5 patch ! JeffC
Thanks for the audio help. I will give it a shot when I get home tonight. Also - Am I correct in that you should not download security updates and Itunes updates because those have not been patched and will keep OSX from booting if you apply them? devilhood
The Myzar 10.4.4 pack + 10.4.5 PPF Installed perfectly over my 10.4.3 build, the update only exhibited minor problems which seemed to have fixed themselves after a simple restart. This build is noticeably faster and seems a lot more stable. Now, lets hope Apple decide to release an nVidia based system so we can borrow their Kexts. lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10614-1045-prepatched-dvd-hot-news-for-all/page/10/#findComment-70641 Share on other sites
