I have an acer 2300 laptop, when i put 10.4.3 on it, the keyboard and mouse pad were detected right from the start, with this one i cant get the keys or mousepad to work, any ideas? anyone know what in the 4.3 install was responsible for these items, and any ideas how i might get them over into 10.4.5, the install went lovely, straight over the top of my 4.3, but i have lost the above, perhaps something needs to be copied from the jas dvd 10.4.3? and somehow loaded into 10.4.5, would really love some help with this one guys

Well, I had this working 10.4.5 with the MAXUS bootable DVD, but when i went to restart the computer for the first time after a fresh install, it just wouldn't restart, then when i hard reset it, it froze during the booting sequence and would not continue from there. Anyone have any ideas what i'm doing wrong? I didn't install the printer drivers or X11, just the basics, the language packs, and the 10.4.5 Intel Patch.

My hardware is currently:

MSI 945G Neo-F

Intel Pentium-D 920 2.8GHz Dual Core

OCZ DDR2667 Gold EL 2GB Kit

Quantum 13GB PATA HD (formated to Mac Extended (journalism))

LG-4163B DVD-RW

Do I have to convert the iso into a bootable image or will the iso automatically boot.?

In Nero or a burning program you like to use, select the ISO file you downloaded to burn as an Image... Basically, no, don't convert it.

I also have acer travelmate 2300, having the same problems with keyboard/trackerpad. Installed using usb keyb/mouse, works perfectly apart from my laptops native input devices aren't working at all (mine also used to work in 10.4.3).

Any help? Anyone know which files are required from old 10.4.3 install?

Cheers

Anyone here try running this with the kernel that doesn't have all these patches applied to it? I have an SSE3 CPU and I tried using the 10.4.4 kernel off of maxxuss's site with just the base patch installed, and now it just gets to the blue screen with my mouse cursor and hangs there. Worked fine just using base kernel in 10.4.3.

I have been reading around on the forums and I see that several people have relatively Identical systems to mine and have successfully booted OS x86.

What are the exact settings I would need to get this puppy going? Would I be able to dual boot even if I were to have Win XP on my 300GB and OS x86 on my 10GB (which I coincidentally took from my Xbox)?

I have worked around most errors while booting, by disableing my 2nd IDE controller, and moving my DVD drive to the Primary one under slave as well as disableing the SATA controllers and ports and Legacy USB (which I dont exactally know what that is for)

Now I get an errno 55

Please help! (I also hope someone comes up with a patch to use the Onboard Network and 2nd IDE controllers because I still plan to use 4 drives and Windows Vista)

I am using the Myzar 10.4.4/5 ISO which I got from piratebay

My specs are in my sig. Thx

Well, why don't you try downloading VMWare Workstation 5.5, and booting it off that?

those who have download shoud check MD5 before using it.

the correct MD5 should like it

d0bcd93dd9b40b072dc4cc4c6111d0b0

becase there are two patches provided after the 10.4.4 DVD launched

either one will given the same size of iso but different MD5

to make the installation less trouble, i suggest you should check it first before using it

Thanks for the MD5! I can confirm that this MD5 works as a native-install DVD of 10.4.5...

To repeat the process:

Download the ISO

Check the MD5

Burn the ISO directly to a DVD

Boot the DVD

Install...

ISO includes AMD and SSE2 patches, along with a stack of kexts (including the highly desired IO80211Family.kext which allows you to enable Broadcom wireless (which is what I am using right now to post this message.)

Problems I Encountered After Installing SecUpd2006-001

Ok, so after visiting Maxxuss' blog, and doing the instructions as to how to install the Security Update, I booted and everything seemed fine. However, I soon realised my scroll wheel didn't work (in Finder, Safari, etc...). I browsed to /System/Library and saw that it had made a folder called: "Extensions_10.4.5_Disabled". So, I copied and pasted everything in there into the /System/Library/Extensions folder. It asked me to replace some files, so I replaced all of them (15 altogether). Then, in the terminal, I typed:

sudo -s
kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

Rebooted, and everything worked again. Hope this helps other who used this ISO DVD and are experiencing this problem! ;)

I downloaded the correct install DVD file and the 200MB Myzar patch, but I am truly lost on how to use them. Can someone write a set of instructions? I have several Macs as well as 10.4.3 x86 on my custom PC [3.4 GHz P4 Prescott] running very well. I can't figure out a thing. Do I Mount the install DVD boot with the Myzar patch disc [after burning it] or what? Do I use Windoze? Please pardon my ignorance and forgive me for being such a dumb ass. At least I have contributed by uploading around 30 GB of these discs for everyone. Thanks in advance.

Well, have you patched the Install DVD with the 200MB Myzar patch? If not, get PPF-O-Matic: http://www.paradogs.com/pdx_ppf3.htm

Run the program, select the 200MB ppf patch as the ppf file, and the Install DVD as the ISO. Patch it.

Now, burn that patched ISO to a DVD using Nero (or your favourite burning program), you must select "Burn Image disc file" or something along those lines... Once burned, boot the computer off the DVD (if you don't know how to do that just say...).

Lemme know how it goes for you!

I got that release but I'm a bit confused, is this patched for SSE2 only CPU? cause I'm getting a SSE3 capable machine, do I have to do anything to enable SSE3 after installing?

Bump. There has to be some other people here who are actually using new cpus. I tried taking the mach_kernel.orig from maxxuss's 10.4.5 solution and running only the base patch on it, but for some weird reason it wouldn't boot without applying the AMD enabler patch as well. After doing that it would crash, lockup, and {censored} all over me constantly =(. In 10.4.3 I used Maxxuss's plain kernel with the antiTPM patch that was installed by default and didn't need any other patches. I'm using a Celeron with SSE3, NX bit, etc.

I booted the DVD but neither my USB Mouse and PS/2 Keyboard worked.

My system specs:

AMD Opteron 146

DFI LanParty Ultra-D nForce4

160GB HDD SATA

Help please

Will this iso fit on a single layer DVD-R? I remember reading that the original unpatched 10.4.4 restore DVD dmg wouldn't fit on a single layer DVD after it was converted to an iso.

Yes it will fit.

Thanks SABR. The Mac ppf just kept crashing on my G4, so I used the Windoze version. The patch was applied and I am burning with NERO. I will try to do a clean install when my kids go out with mommy to a party. It should work as my components are all high end intel stuff and 10.4.3 runs perfectly. I can't wait until the Apple pro intel towers are available as I will be first in line for one. I don't think that Apple realizes that this project will lead to many sales, even though some maybe content with the result of this project.

Well this is weird. I had 10.4.5 running, but it was crashing and doing weird 'stuff' after I loaded a kernel without the SSE3 emulator and whatnot(even though I have SSE3/NX-bit CPU). I decided to reinstall, but now for some reason when I run the installer off of the DVD, it gets to "Installing Essentials" then stops and says to "Please try installing again." What the heck could be causing this? I repartitioned and erased my HD before trying to install again...

Why don't you try from in VMWare? That's what I installed it from. Remember, if you do try to do it in VMWare, use Daemon Tools to mount the ISO file. ;)

No problem! :) Hope it goes as smoothly for you as it did for me...

Help please ;) .

You have to add in the USB kext from 10.4.3. Use something like transmac (If you're in Windows) to do this.

How do I install it with vmware? Also I'm not dual-booting the system, I have only OS X installed. WTF I just tried installing 10.4.3 as well, and now IT is stopping at the 'installing essentials' part as well. What the hell could cause that? Both 10.4.5 and 10.4.3 installed straight from the DVD just fine many times now today they don't want to..
