Welcome back, guys! There are still some visual tweaks needed here and there. But hey, you're back! And that's all that matters. Everything else is history.

One request when you guys have time:  can you improve the post editor?  it is very basic now and missing many features.

There's no font selection at all (I often use Courier New, a monospaced font, for highlighting names of commands/command output in the middle of a line).  there's no option to view the source/BBCode without formatting, no superscript/subscript, no option for spoilers, etc.

Most/all of these things are achievable with manual BBCode, but that can be quite a pain.    This is an example of manual BBCode to get Courier New, but it's very slow to have to write manual  font tags all the time.

I know this will be lower priority than many other things like improving the theme/layout, but I thought I would bring it up in the hope it at least goes on the radar.

Thanks again for all your hard work. I donated for first time last night to help support you.

Maybe it looks better with inverted display colours.

Although I'm personally not a big fan of inverted colors, I do like dark themes, too.  And since the forum supports theming (you can check out the default one at the bottom of the page, to compare), I see no reason why we couldn't add a dark theme in the future. The important thing is that the forum is back. :) Things like that (themes and extras) can be added in the future, if the forum administration agrees to do it.

Regarding missing posts - it seems "Clover General Discussion" has no posts since January 26?  So missing several weeks of posts rather than just 1 day like other threads I have looked at.

Probably this is a known issue, just letting you know in case it's not.

This problem in many threads.
Cache and history deletion in the browser does not help.
Alone a new post in the thread helps. Only then the thread is updated and the missing posts are visible again.

I hope for further improvements.
I also do not like the editor and I miss download counter attachments and display active users in the thread.

Nice that the site is online again. :thumbsup_anim:

That's good to know that a new post can sometimes bring back the missing ones.

However I have posted in a couple of threads and the missing posts did not re-appear - at least posts made in the 24 hours before the forum went down are not coming back.

I guess it differs between threads and depends on the age of the missing posts?

I did notice that in Clover General Discussion it keeps giving a popup saying "200+ new posts", bu then it never displays them.  Hopefully those would appear if a new post was made - unfortunately I can't post in Clover General Discussion because it's locked  :(  Probably it's locked because of the missing posts - until they are fixed.

Anyway hopefully many of the missing posts are not gone forever but just hidden for now and will be brought back.  But I have a feeling that posts made in the day before the forum went down are probably gone forever.  But that's no big deal.

yes, Clover General Discussion is unfortunately locked for nornale users, in which case it does not work. Wait until a developer posts! Then again up to date.
The popup "200+ new posts" or similar in other threads does not change anything on a click, unfortunately.
The admin's and mod's will fix the bugs for sure. patience

Hey Allan,

Hey Admin

after the update has everything become very habituation.
I share the same opinion as Mork-von-Ork and the other critical users here.

the simplicity and ease of use of the website has gone missing.
The design is not mine.  Light gray and dark gray text color font on the blue background?

I do not like it. As a wearer of glasses I have big problems to recognize everything.. Before the update it was much better. I'm only talking about the design. Nothing else.
Very sad, I mourn the old website design and usability.

In addition, I missing since the ubdate, many pages in the AMD Area.- No idea why they were forgotten to activate.

Don't worry guys.

As @Poco says, the Forum will have the fixes soon.
All is very new for us, some of us have a lot of knowledge about this new version, and other are still learning.

Me in comparison with my Forum friends, I'm still a beginner. ^_^

I agree with others that the design is still sub par (color contrast!) but of course this is should be fixable easily by tweaking some CSS. But what I don't understand is why the site is still not running https?? Thats a huge ommission in my eyes, please add this as soon as you can.

I miss the old InsanelyMac.com already :(

I know this new version has so many new feature and I'm also grateful to have all of my friends back (I mean all of you guys); of course the new interface needs some tweaking (as Allan and Poco already mentioned) and it definitely needs some getting use to on our part as well; but it would be great if you guys can add the old theme as an option if it's possible I really loved the coloring of the old theme. As for the SSL and HTTPS I agree with Pavo and the others.

The Donation section is now fixed in the main page which would be great if you could make like before or all the other parts of the forum as well so we can easily hide this section too.

The spacing between signature lines is also needs to be fixed in my view.

Thanks guys

Guy's please just be patient, because as the big boss said everything will be added as soon, and the big happy thing is that the forum is back again! For me it's the most important part, as insanelymac is like WebHome, clearly I love this forum and it's the best "as i see or as i don't see :thumbsup_anim: :wink_anim: "

This is not a matter of patience we are simply trying to report back our experiences and feedbacks with the new site and its features and the features that we miss from the previous site. I guess this is going to be helpful and it will definitely will make this great forum better.

P.S:

from all the great feature that we lost we still have the GREAT like (recently named reaction) limits!!! (How Wonderful) %$#&&:hysterical:
