I installed this version perfectly, booted into windows and installed EasyBCD. That didn;t work, chain boot error. Tried the chain0 method, same thing. Maybe Im not doing this right...Im trying to dual boot Vista and Mac. Same disk different partitions, is there a certain way to add this to the EasyBCD or is there another way to add this to the boot menu thats easier. I looked at all of the dual boot guides. I checked just about everywhere on the internet, i should have come to insanelymac first because my tiger installation went perfect thanks to you guys. But anyway...does anybody have any suggestions.

1 - Boot with the DVD.

2 - Press F8, then type "-s"

3 - type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"

4 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8" (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)

5 - Reboot

Thank you! Ive made progress but im still not there, when I enter in those commands I get something like this:

"filesystem unmounted uncleanly"

Okay, I got it... I was stupid and missed some steps.

Now it's working great. I can't find much wrong with it besides it still requires the DVD to boot up.

Is there a way to fix that?

Oh, and many thanks. This is a great way to testdrive OSX before dishing out the dough for the real deal. :P

so wahat steps did you end up missing? cuz its happenin to me too! share the knowledge! :o

Same here, but it did work anyway.

After several install attempt with different settings, I removed the "reboot and reinstall again" step from my routine. It might work for some, not me.

Try installing until that 1 minute hang, and when your dvd goes sleep, hard reboot and try your Leo from there.

I've tried not doing the install again, also. Both with and without -x, but I get that gray "You have to restart" screen in GUI mode. When booting with -v, I get

"...InterfaceName: no network interfaces found - could not update platform UUID".

Then it stops loading.

I reinstalled Leo 3 times with this "moving the mouse". I also tested without moving the mouse 3 times and installation hung each time at "about 4 minutes" or "about 1 minute". Like you, i cannot believe that ;)

I tried moving the mouse continuously when the timer reached 4  minutes. But it hung anyway.

Hasn't anybody used the Asus M2N-MX SE before? It's got the Chipset: NVIDIA GeForce6100 / nForce430 with Audio: ALC662 High Definition Audio 6-channel CODEC and LAN: PHY 10/100 LAN

installing worked like a charm for me.. I am using an AMD x64 3000+ sse2, asus a8n sli mobo, and installed the basic stuff including mbr efi.. only problem(s) I'm having are that when using it sometimes hangs for about 20 seconds or so when copying stuff... and it also completely freezes quite often requiring me to hit the button.. f ayone can help resolve those issues.. it would be great

Hey everyone,

I have installed Zephyroth's 10.5.2, I used the patch.sh to fix somethings.

I got everything installed, but now when I try to boot i just see a very quick white flash, then it restarts.

I have been researching for hours, days, weeks, and cannot find a fix.

Please help!

My specs are:

AMD 4200+

DFi Lan part Xpert mobo

2 gig hyperx

nvidia 8800gts

3 seagate satas; 1 xp, 1 osx, 1 storage

Please help me, I have tried everything and I am at my wits end pulling my hair out.

Thank u.

Hi all!

I installed Zephyroth Leo 10.5.2 on my computer:

ASUS M2N DH

AMD Athlon 64 3800+

IDE DVD RW

IDE HDD - LEOPARD 10.5.2

SATA HDD - WIN XP

During the installation I selected only efi for mbr (mbr partition table).

Chain0 is on XP HDD.

10.4.10 worked great, but after installing 10.5.2 I can't boot on Leo - CHAIN BOOTING ERROR.

Please, help!

Installation without efi give the same result :(

First many Thanks to Zephyroth for this Release. :(

My System: Athlon64 X2

3800 Nforce 560 (MCP65)

Nvidia Geforce 8500GT

First i tried with sata HD and IDE CD/DVD without success, then i tried with IDE (IDE HD/IDE DVD) only.

With that option I had no problem to install.

Currently i have to boot with -x because the Graphics Driver crashes in a loop. I see the Mousepointer, then it disappears, then i see the Mousepointer and so on.

But i suppose that i can fix that error. It is possible that the Resolution of my TFT 1650x1080 aren't helpful.

tvk

unfortunately NO SUCCESS for me :(

PROB: basicly it installs fine, on first boot it doesn't give me any error, but when it goes to graphics it gives me a black screen with colored vertical stripes, and when i move my mouse i can see a little movement in some of the stripes...

i installed with the 38x0 kext...

Mobo: Abit AW9D-MAX (BIOS v.15 Board rev.1)

Sound: Yesh. The patch worked.

Extra items selected during install: Triakis + Latest 38x0 drivers and SiliconImage driver & the 9.2 SSE3 kernel.

Overall/Summary: Yeah. All's well. However, to be fair, the SiliconImage driver popped up an error on the first boot. A permission error. I tried the automatic repair. It created problems. I ended up having to manually repair the permissions. No biggie, but I'm not sure exactly why that played out that way.

In all fairness, I had no serious issues. Installation took me all of maybe half an hour, all included. (Including settings, a few small post installations, including firefox, vlc, perian and a few other nifty things. --heck, I direct posted to the wiki on my first boot. It was THAT painless this time.) That aside, I did have one, small, little, interesting problem.

BOOTCAMP ASSISTANT <-- I get an error. :) It says "You can't open the application "Boot Camp Assistant" because it is not supported on this architecture."

To which I just went.... WTF?!???!?

I tried searching. I'm not sure if it's because of the forum rearrangement or what... but the search turned up no conclusive results. It was... depressing.

congratulations on installing it w/out any major problems! Can you help me do the same? I can't even start the installation. All I see when I boot up w/ the DVD running is the Apple logo, w/ the 'clock' below it spinning clockwise... a few minutes later, i see an 'O' w/ a slash inside... kinda like the ghostbusters logo. I tried pressing F8 and -x also and its still doing the same thing...any suggestions??Thanks! Can anyone help me? I turn on the computer with the DVD in the drive and all I get is the Apple logo w/ the 'clock' underneath that spins clockwise. A few minutes later, I get an 'O' w/ a slash thru it, similar to the Ghostbusters logo. I also tried booting in safe mode (F8 and -x) but the same thing is happening... Any ideas? Thanks!

I am still having problems when booting.

Can anyone help me?

I really want this to work.

The error I am encountering now is that when i boot, the screen flashes white really fast, then restarts my computer....

Overall/Summary: Hell YES !

Worked almost straight away for me.

Sound is not working. (I assume in need a special AppleAC97AudioVIA.kext from somewhere ? Help :-P)

Almost forgot.. .Many thanks to Zephyroth !

First, thanks a lot Zephyroth for putting together this release ;)

Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200

RAM: 2 GB PC3200 RAM

Video Card: 512MB ATI 3870

I tried to install with GUID, but I would get b0 error. Then I installed MBR with: 9.2.0 Kernel, Forcedeth, ATI 38XX driver (17 MB one), AC97 and Azailia audio. I can only boot with -x. Anything else and it starts up for about 10 seconds, then just shows me a screen of random black, red, and green lines in a weird pattern. My 3870 does not work, and I am in software mode with no QE/CI. I am trying to get Natit from Netkas.org working. I have no sound, and the internet is very sluggish (like not getting past 10 kb/s, I don't know why). About this Mac and System Profiler are working fine.

If anyone could help me with these issues, that'd be great, if not I'll keep trying :)

Thanks again Zephyroth.

fobdout: have you booted with the -v option? In which case, you could at least SEE where the problem was that hung your boot process? (On a related note, I'm going to put my AM2 system through the paces on Monday or Tuesday. Same 430 nForce Chipset as yours (albeit on an ASUS motherboard, so that might help, too.) Personally, I managed to get previous versions (through 10.5.1) installed (if not RUNNING perfectly :) ) with a -v -x "your.supported.vesa.resolution.here" tag setup.

If that doesn't work, you might want to try re-recording your DVD. Stupid as this sounds, I've had some rather serious issues pop up both from writing things at MAX speed as well as ...just faulty discs.

T3nacity: I've had that happen POST installation on 10.5.1 but it was an improperly installed EFI issue. Which EFI did you install? And, for that matter, was it a clean install? (which is to say, is it possible you installed the GUID EFI on an MBR partitioned HDD? Again, sounds stupid, but I, personally, have managed WORSE, at 5am, so, you know...) Also, have you tried booting into single user mode? Not that you'd necessarily get much done, since single user mode, if I recall correctly, doesn't feel obliged to mount usb devices that might have correctional files on them, but still, it might help to know.

thanks for the reply.

Haven't tried single user mode. How do you do that?

I have now fixed my previous issue and have a new one.

Mac boots, welcomes me, I create a user, skip registration, then it says MAC OSX is READY!

I creamed my pants, clicked OK, then it went back to the beginning of the same welcome menu.

It just does this, over and over again.

Anyone have this issue?

Please HELP! I am one step away from desktop ! ! !

Thanks in advance.

T

1 - Boot with the DVD.

2 - Press F8, then type "-s"

3 - type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"

4 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8" (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)

5 - Reboot

I'm also having troubles booting up after installation. I'm using GUID. When I boot up I get the blinking "_". I have tried making it the bootable partition (even though I'm using it as my ONLY partition, no other partitions are on the disk). I have also tried your method but when I enter the command "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8" (I replaced X = 0 and Y = 1) I get back the message "startupfiletool: Unrecognized File System" Do you know why?

HOLY {censored} ! :)

I GOT IT !

IT WORKS !

Awesome guys !

I love this forum!

Special thanks to ChiefWiggum & Anjan T. for helping me personally through PMs !

8800GTS works, internet works, haven't tested sound yet. I tried to do software update and got a kernal panic. Is there a fix out there for that?

I am so @#$%ing happy right now guys. I own a g5, a Macbook, and now a AMD HacKinTosh! CAN YOU SAY RENDERFARM ! ?! ?

WOOT !

If anyone knows of a software update fix, please let me know !

Thanks again to this forum and the members of it for being so helpful.

SUPER ULTRA SPECIAL THANKS TO Zephyroth for taking his time and intelligence to make this ISO. WHERE DO I DONATE TO HIM!?

I am typing this from my AMD Hackintosh!

I just tried to install FCP 6 and I get this error:

Final Cut Pro needs 64MB of VRAM, you have 0MB VRAM.

Can someone please help me with this ? ? ?

Also, I still get a kernal panic when I try to do software update.

AND I still have no audio, any ideas ?

What is everyone doing for a boot menu ?

I am having to hit ESC to go into my mobo boot menu and choose my drive, this works fine, just wondering if there was a different/easier way to do this like rEFT has when you dual boot ubuntu or xp on a mac.

PLEASE PM ME IF YOU CAN HELP ME WITH ANY OF THESE ! ?

Thanks for everyones help !
