This is on a T8300 and I might be able to get a T9300 to test if a friend ends up going out of town.

sysctl -a | grep frequency

hw.busfrequency = 800000000

hw.cpufrequency = 1200000000

hw.tbfrequency = 1000000000

hw.tbfrequency: 1000000000

hw.cpufrequency_max: 2400000000

hw.cpufrequency_min: 1200000000

hw.cpufrequency: 1200000000

hw.busfrequency_max: 800000000

hw.busfrequency_min: 800000000

hw.busfrequency: 800000000

Edit: I took a look at your plist and compared it to Chryasors with the working jack switching, but have no idea what most of the lines mean. I'm a bit busy right now between school and work, but hopefully I can take a look at it again tonight and compare against the one supplied in sonotone's package and see what does what.

Edit 2: Is the internal webcam on anyone elses laptop incredibly laggy? Ex: Up to a 3 second delay between onscreen movement and actual movement? I've tried the sleep trick to see if it was related to OpenGL performance and that was a nogo,  System Profiler says QE and QI are supported and I have QuartzGL enabled through OSX86Tools.

Edit 3: Is there any way to enable clamshell mode like on the MBs/MBPs? At home I tend to run my laptop on an external monitor and don't use the laptops internal display much due to the layout of my desk and so I'd prefer to have it shut off when the laptop is hooked, unfortunately, there's no way to that via System Preferences. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Also, this is the final edit to this post, I promise!

I'm running 10.5.2 system (9.2.0 ToH kernal) successfully with all the device working fine but when I applied the 10.5.5 combo update, after reboot, everything was detected fine except the laptop Keyboard and touch pad. However the external USB mouse was working fine (i dont have external USB keyboard to try if that works)

I tried to restore related keyboard and mouse .kext from 10.5.2 backup along with AppleSMBIOS and AppleHDA kexts but with with no help.

I also tried the sonoton's installer for the dell laptops to install the trackpad drivers.. :-(

Could someone please guide me what i'm missing..

Thank you.!!

I have the 9 cell battery and LED screen.. I'm pretty sure I should have good battery life. I seem to get about 80 minutes of battery life... and I think with my last osx86 install 3 weeks ago, I got a good 3 hours. Unless my year old laptops battery is this aged.... anyone know what I can do to get better battery life (speedstep)?

I already have the vanilla kernel.

You definitely should be getting better battery life then 3 hours, while I haven't done complete testing yet the data set I have right now makes it seem like I'll get ~2 hours on an M1530 with the six cell battery and 8600m GT, which is around 1.5 hours less then I get in Vista. I'm in the process of tracking down exactly why battery life is so bad as I've undervolted the processor and enabled fairly aggressive speedstepping using Superhai's CPU Management kext. I think it may be that the GPU isn't lowering its clock speeds correctly and so is staying at its top wattage the entire time which would cut considerably into battery life while also increasing the heat output, so if anyone knows of a tool to check GPU clocks under OS X the help would be greatly appreciated.

I've the same configuration and the same problem. Both vista and linux gets 5 hrs with the 9 cell batt, but osx only gets 4. I think too that is the 8600m or the mainboard chipset witch isnt getting power saving mode.

hw.tbfrequency: 1000000000

hw.cpufrequency_min: 1200000000

hw.cpufrequency: 1200000000

hw.busfrequency_max: 800000000

hw.busfrequency_min: 800000000

hw.busfrequency: 800000000

I think I know where the problem with the sound stuttering is. Firstly, did you set the hw.cpufrequency_min to 1200 MHz manually or was it automatically detected. In my tin-can the hw.cpufrequency_min is 600 MHz and I cannot figure out a way to change it. This might be leading to the stuttering.

The 600 lower bound should be correct if you have a Super Low Frequency Capable chip, try going into the Generic CPU kext and changing the load at which the computer changes PSets downwards.

Does it attempt to sleep and then crash or just wake up straight away?

You might have tried this already...

Try switching off the bluetooth, if you have one and disconnect any usb mouse or keyboards or any usb devices.

I just wanna know if your webcam is recognized by iMovie.

It was with my MacBook and it's not with the integrated webcam of my Xps1530

It could be very useful... so has anyone successed in getting to work the XPS webcam in iMovie?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

for my DELL VOSTRO 1500, too

But it is not possible to make a kind disc change. I always have to boot the OS with inserted SD card. Has anybody an idea?

SD card change works for me (with 512MB Kingston SD).

It doesn't recognize my 4GB SDHC though, can anyone with 4GB+ SDHC confirm this?

Edit: Seems like SDHC is not supported yet.

Works ? Yes, only SD Cards, tested with 4 GB SD Card. (This not work with SDHC Cards).

@ eski: Hi, i am trying to find the easiest way to boot osx- and right now i have the Iaktos v4i on a bootdisk. I haven't started trying to boot yet, but i was wondering if you thought that the Iaktos v5i was an easier install for you than the 4i version?

Does the video card work completly out of the box without patch in the Iaktos 5i version? (with core image and quartz extreme enabled?)

Also could you link me to the patches you used? i really want to get this to work on my m1330 but i am really new at this stuff.

i am also wondering if the other devices built into the m1330 work without patch:

webcam?

microphone?

restart or shutdown functions?

battery indicator?

Also did you have to use speedstep to get the sleep to work?

If you dont mind it would be great if you could fill me in on these topics

device:

m1330: nvidia 8400m GS, core2duo, intel {censored} wireless, sigmatel sound,

thanks so much
