Hi Guys, I saw that you got busy with the new Big Sur. I want to try to help you out, but my SMBIOS is too old to support Big Sur. Which one do you recommend to make it compatible? Thanks

Spoiler

Big Sur has been a real pain to install even on a MacBook Pro from 2016... Might have been my external SSD, but finally everything is up and running now. Next step is to move the SSD to my X299 Hack, with opencore running a stable Catalina.

But for now, here is ioreg and ssdt from my MacbookPro13,3:

(If that could help someone debug things further)

MacBookPro13,3-DSDT.aml

MacBookPro13,3-ioreg.ioreg

it won't work, there are many differences between these bootloaders.

Ok thank you! I’ll probably wait to see a new Clover version that supports Big Sur!

I tried to do an installation with the latest version of clover, but I get stuck at +++++ (logHB)

I'm using iMac 17,1 with a Sandy Bridge i5 and a GTX780. I hope mine is good to go for Big Sur.

can i install big sur using usb installer on kabylake i5 intel hd graphic 620

i have bootable usb installer  how to configure config.plist for big sur

Currently, there isn't a guide on how to configure the config.plist .

But if you're using Clover you can't do anything now, only OpenCore.

The system froze :wallbash:

I wouldn't mark that down as a failure, to reach that far is definitely a plus in my books - progress is being made as far as I can see just a matter of time and perseverance. As they say 'Every journey begins with ................. etc, etc.

Yeah that's correct, it's just a matter of time but yet I was hoping that the system didn't froze in that stage, so far I only had luck to boot into the installer on my Haswell rig, no luck on the Skylake nor the IvyBridge yet. -_-

I tried Cyberdevs' EFI on my Haswell system, got pass the [EB] screen, but stuck after purple lines showed up. I'm using Rx580 GPU, does anyone have a solution?

Edit: i tried with weg beta flag, safe boot -x but still no luck
