@nostu It seems there are few T460 for which brightness is an issue. I also have this issue with my T460 that on fresh boot brightness works (can reduce and increase) but not all brightness levels are present (screen turns off at around or below 60%). However, after a sleep and wakeup cycle, all brightness levels work.

Hello Guys,

I want to ask a question, because I am also victim of this brightness problem and my laptop has 1080p LGD touch panel. so are you guys having problem with touch panel or normal panel?

Tough I don't have the expertise to solve this problem, I think the problem is only occurring with touch panel laptops.

@tluck can you help with this touch panel related problem.

thanks in advance.

For trackpad, please use the acidanthera's version of voodoops2, it is much more smooth, however the physical trackpad buttons don't work but I guess (based on some recent commits) he's working on it.

@Mat I believe the non-working bluetooth after sleep are resolved with the @kolodzieski version of brcm

Thanks. One more question : to add in the tluck's release the latest Clover package, I thought that I only needed to update it in the Utilities folder. But in fact it's not the case. How do you do ?

You should put all the third party kexts (including this brcm) under /Library/Extensions and rebuild the kext cache

or you can install it with hackintool that will do the job for you

Find this on google and follow the first result “install third party kexts hackintosh”

Thanks I reinstalled everything again with acidanthera's version of VoodooPS2Controller and indeed the gestures works, I also updated WhatEverGreen to version 1.3.2. But now I get the below panic error, any of you guy know what went wrong here :p

Just updated my secondary laptop to Catalina, everything seems to be working fine. Bluetooth seems to be janky, but it was the same on Mojave for me

I have T470 with i5 6300u, same as @kolodzieski has.

I also updated my t470 to Catalina. All was working except for Bluetooth. I switch to acidanthera's brcm repo, and got bluetooth working OK. I had to use brcmpatchram2, brcmfirmwarerepo, and brcmbluetoothinjector. I just dumped these in /Library/Extensions, and BT works; no parameters required.  Seems to have survived a couple of sleep/wake cycles, but will keep everyone posted as to the long term stability.

We don't need to use brcmpatchram2

Hi all,

I've got my T470 (i5 7300U, HD 620, 16GB, NVMe SSD, 1080P touchscreen) more or less working using truck's scripts plus the T470-specific files in his repository to patch my DSDT. However, a few things are still eluding me.

- It seems I have not set up the display panel correctly: I have no brightness slider, and the keyboard brightness keys also do not work. The output of ioreg -x -p IOService -n PNLF -r and ioreg -x -p IOService -n AppleIntelPanelA -r are empty.

- The touch screen also does not work, although it did work when I was installing OSX using an incorrect ig-platform-id (0x12345678).

- Power management seems to be enabled but I'm not certain it is optimised: my 3+3 cell battery lasts no more than a couple of hours. I'm attaching a screenshot from Intel Power Gadget where the computer is basically idle. Does this look right?

- Using truck's VoodooPS2 kext, the trackpoint is very jerky although other features work well. Using more recent versions from Rehabman, the middle button when used to scroll in a web browser, for example, will open tens of new tabs.

Grateful for your help with the above, especially with the brightness and display panel setup.

Matt

Here you go! This is my non-touch FHD 16GB 256GB i5-6300u T460 on Catalina 10.15.0 with my own patched DSDT and SSDTs according to the scripts by tluck. No luck on getting HiDPI to work, as it doesn't work after waking from sleep, but this is something I hope get fixed as more people move to Catalina.

It seems that AptioMemoryFix is not maintained and deprecated now. The new replacement EFI driver is OpenCore only. So the option with clover is to either use the last AptioMemoryFix released or I found a project https://github.com/ReddestDream/OcQuirks that aims to port the new driver for Clover.

We are seeing a number of updates from Acidanthera for the various Hackintosh related stuff. Would it make sense to switch to OpenCore? Has any one tried converting the configuration from here to OpenCore?

Thank you! I'm still on High Sierra, HiDPI works nicely (although I have to switch it on after every restart).

i haven’t checked x86platformplugininject on Catalina but so can’t comment if it’s a general problem or something with your setup but try this https://olarila.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=71532#p71532

This is basically doing the same thing in a newer way which is cpufriend.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I already tried that method with a new problem. I get restart from wake from sleep. So I am trying to revert back to the old solution.

Can you tell me the command that you used to print p/c states in your problem description above. I will check what does it say on my Hackintosh (which is still on 10.14.3).

I used hackintool >> tools >> get appleintelinfo (which loads piker's appleintelinfo kext to get p states). Also "sudo kextstat | grep -y plugininject" doesn't show the plugin loded. Also I can see on ioreg that on frequency vector default value is loaded not injected value from tlucks x86platformplugininject.

I'm getting these P and C states (see below). I was getting similar states as @junaed.rx when I had X86PlatformPluginInjector only in Clover/kexts/other. I transferred X86PlatformPluginInjector.kext to /Library/Extensions by using Hackintool and by compiling my own DSDT and SSDTs by using the script that tluck thankfully included (see first post). ssdtPrgen by PikerAlpha is not needed to achieve these states.

Thanks @Styxie, I will try that, I only had x86platformplugininject on c/k/o before.

AppleLPC is not required on a SkyLake+ system and causes EFICheck to happen.

I did the following to disable it on my hackintosh...

1. Removed SSDT-LPC-T460.aml from the ACPI/patched directory

2. Patched DSDT with an additional patch https://github.com/syscl/XPS9350-macOS/blob/master/DSDT/patches/syscl_PPMCnPMCR.txt

3. Added EFICheckDisabler kext linked in the thread.
