I installed from Software Update. Things are mostly working here but i'm getting

SerialATAPI initial device configuration did not complete successfully. (failedCommandInfo = 0x0)

and my optical drive is completely unrecognized. Also the Serial-ATA section of the profiler gives an error.

My config is EP45-DS3R with

- Chameleon 2.0 rc5

- /E/E has EvOreboot, FakeSMC 2.7, IOHCIBlockStorageInjector, LegacyHDA

- /S/L/E has JMicronATA, RealtekRTL81xx

Anyone have a similar problem? Any suggestions?

Updated NOT FINE. EP45-UD3P.

USB was disabled on restart, so I used screen share to access the hackintosh, then ran mutlibeast, and from there "#####", when it was completed USB functionality was restored, so I repaired permissions and cleared cache, rebooted and computer hung at "verifying DMI pool data..."

Only way I could get past this was to insert the iacktos dvd, and hit F8 to goto startup options, and from there I can select my hackintosh boot hard drive just fine and it starts right up. However this is obviously not a desired way to start it each time.

Also I just found out that Quartz extreme has been disabled/removed, and video card is reporting back 0mb of ram (9800gtx+)

so frustrated, I would love some help, first the booting problem then the Quartz problem.

I *DO* have a dual boot with win 7 and macdrive so I am able to change kexts if I need to I just don't know what to change or what to do.

are you using a SATA optical drive (I'm assuming you are)

and the hdd that os x is on is a SATA drive then the optical should be detected if the internal os x drive is SATA as well

What you say makes sense ... I thought the same thing myself. But I have 3 SATA hard drives which are all functioning but my SATA burner is not detected. And like I said ... the system profiler no longer shows the ICH10R connections - it just gives an error.

Better late then never :(

10.6.5 via Software update:

-restart

-replace AppleHDA.kext with the 10.6.2 version, use Kext Utility for repair permissions and rebuild kext cache

-restart

everything work - 10.6.5 consume less Ram when loading my userprofile: instead 780 MB now 520 MB (also on my Apple MacBook)

Installed via software update (with my desktop) no lan on reboot (Marvell Yukon 88E8056). Fixed by replacing Marvell Yukon 2 10.6.5 kext with the 10.6.4 one (with edited .plist). Rebuilt caches, reboot lan working.

this is with the IONetworkingFamily.kext in S/L/E/

No issues so far with Dell 1525

I have Vanilla installs, but on all of them I have upgraded to 10.6.5 I can only use arch=i386

I get KP's when I try to run arch=x86_64 and for the record, 10.6.4 x86_64 worked just fine.

Anyone else have this issue? I can run in 32bit for awhile, but there are programs I used which benefit from running in x64 (Lightroom, PS, etc.)

I have installed the new sleep enabler with pmVersion=21 so no issues there.

Of course there were no issues on my real Macs with the upgrade ;-)

Cheers!

Kexts I am using are:

fakesmc

JMicrronATA

LegacyHDA

NullCPUPM

OpenHaltRestart

OrangeIconFix

SleepEnabler

i did a fresh reinstall. - needed one.

update from 10.6 to 10.6.5 with apple software update (10.6.5 combo 1Gb +)

everything working fine including: usb, sata controller, firewire, audio (voodooHDA 0.2.1), gfx strings (nv 7950 gt 32 bit only) etc.

fakeSMC 2.7.x temps working with SMBios.plist ( imac 9.1).

mobo. asus commando

cpu i c2d e6600

gfx 7950 gt gainward

etc.

questions: 1. did anyone managed to boot in 64 bit with a nv 7xxx since 10.6.3?

2. since this install i get the spin wheel on blue screen while shutting down or restarting (it does the task but it takes like 10 sec. does anyone know how to solve this?

Quick roundup of page #12

CUDA prompt me to update it on restart.

Find a temporary workaround for that here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t&p=1582572

Had to reinstall sound and networks kexts..

Asus P5Q-E

There's no need to use older versions of those.

Sound - modify the AppleHDA binary as detailed here:

http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1429

Or here: http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?...post&p=6149

For vanilla AppleHDA to work on your P5Q-E you'll also need the HDEF DSDT device and ad2000b.kext from the above thread.

LAN - Use a LegacyAppleYukon2.kext and you'll never have to replace your network kext again.

Quartz extreme has been disabled/removed, and video card is reporting back 0mb of ram (9800gtx+)

My 9800GTX+ (dev. ID 0x0612) continues to fully work (HDMI untested) after the update. RAM is correctly reported. I use Chameleon 2.0 RC5 GraphicsEnabler.

Installed via software update (with my desktop) no lan on reboot (Marvell Yukon 88E8056). Fixed by replacing Marvell Yukon 2 10.6.5 kext with the 10.6.4 one (with edited .plist).

Use a LegacyAppleYukon2.kext and you can leave IONetworkingFamily and its plugins alone.

questions: 1. did anyone managed to boot in 64 bit with a nv 7xxx since 10.6.3?

64-bit kernel and drivers mode support for 7xxx series was removed as of 10.6.3.

It's a non-issue. For the average user there is absolutely no advantage to running in 64-bit kernel and drivers mode. Read this article:
