1. 10.10.2 is out!

I was prompted into upgrading to Yoesmite only last weekend when I discovered that the latest upgrade for Logic X was not compatible with Mountain Lion. I do wish Apple wouldn't do stuff like that. All in all I am fairly impressed with Yosemite though (it seems to be faster than Mountain Lion). The only thing I haven't really liked so far is the flat dock but that turned out to be fixable with this neat little app http://sourceforge.net/projects/cdock/
2. 10.10.2 is out!

Updated here ok on my H55M-USB3 had to reapply RTC and AppleHDA patches. All seems to be fine.
3. i really hope all you people who parted with dosh for this board haven't been spun over by these clowns. They have been completely unprofessional in their dealings.
4. Realtek WLAN Client Utility Facelift

Works ok in fact it loads when i plug the adapter in whereas the original realtek one doesn't. The refresh button might be better placed in the Networks pane. oops found the on/off doh!
5. 10.8.3 iS OuT ..

Unsurprisingly both my Gigabyte desktops GA-P55M-UD2 with an XFX ATI card and a GA-H55M-USB3 with a Gigabyte Nvidia GT220 card updated with no issues - just has to replace AppleHDA.kext. However i have another machine which I don't normally use which has an Elite group G41T-M5 m/b with a core2duo processor. I kinda equate this board as an equivalent to the mac mini and in fact getting M/L to install on it in the first place was less problematic in some ways than the Gigabyte boards. Later on though I put a slimline Nvidia GT520 card in it as I wanted to use an Asm high speed SATA PCI express card (the latter would not plug into it's slot with a standard card as the fan and heatsink got in the way). The only way i could get this card to work properly was by replacing the nvidia kexts with some hacked ones that i think i found on OSX86.net. Without those kexts the GUI would only load in safe mode. Now I am pleased to report that the card works with the stock update drivers in 10.8.3 (GraphicsEnabler=Yes). The card is a KFA2 GeForce GT 520 DDR3 Graphics Card (2GB, PCI-Express).
6. Interesting idea. I wish the developers all success with it.
7. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

Problem identified. Doesn't like Nvidia GT240 2gig (board manufacturer Nvidia) works currently with nvidia 7600 GS 256mg (board manufacturer Gigabyte) vram not correctly reported though - no GrapicsEnabler=Yes in boot.plist no freezups large file operations work np thanks for the help and stuff will maybe have to either look at another better card or try using nvenabler
8. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

hi MaLd0n, thanks but it made no difference. Have also installed SL on another drive all worked fine with disk access until I upgraded to 10.6.7 then same problem as Lion, machine freezes. I think though that I've narrowed it down to an ATA problem with kexts as before upgrade in system profiler it lists the Jmicron controller but the intel ones are unidentified. After the upgrade the Jmicron is listed as unrcognised generic controller and the intel is now listed as intel. Also I managed to compile my Linux-extracted DSDT with your auto-patcher which I still have. 3 errors Fixed:) here it is if you would like to look at it for curiosity value This is from a GA-P55M-UD2 btw dsdt.mwgdrwg.aml.zip E2a for anyone interested or having similar issues the yellow icons are part of the symptom of the problem as well. Before upgrade usual hard drive icons. After 10.6.7 yellow ones. I just now have to find which kexts to change ho-hum
9. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

sorry MaLd0n above post motherboard model should read Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 not P55 cheers
10. DSDT Auto patcher - Gone?

hi MaLd0n i've managed to install Lion to my Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 with Kakewalk however i get freezes when running diskutility repair permissions or when trying to copy large files from a usb drive. I'm thinking this may be a SATA problem as after fresh install the hard drive icons are orange (I can fix this with orange icons kext in extra but the machine still locks up when performing large fille access operations). I'm not dure of the dsdt as installed by Kakewalk as it doesn't have RTC fix (so what else may it not have?). This dsdt is extracted from the machine when running Linux. If you can do anything with it i would be grateful. DSDT.mwgdrwg.zip
11. Try the realtek gigabit kext in the latest release of #####, worked for me with the lion IOnetworking kext
12. Firstly I'd like to say thanks to MaLd0n for a great howto the installation went with little or no fuss, however there's one or two things I encountered that I thought may be of use to others. Initially I was reluctant to attempt Lion install as when I tried to upgrade my desktop SL from 10.7 to 10.8 it broke the networking and made the machine very slow. On the advice of a mate (thanks snow ) I did a clean install by following this howto. My desktop has a wireless card with a broadcom chip which worked ootb - not normally used but nice that it was working no fuss. I had recently upgraded my LAN to Gigabit using Tplink cards with Realtek gigabit chips (I chose these cards as they were a) cheap and more importantly advertised as OS X compatible. This was no longer working as were the onboard Marvell yukon network interfaces (the latter was no surprise as they required a plist hack in SL). My initial fix was to replace the IONetworking.kext with the one from my SL install. Confusion ensued when I discovered that my wireless card was no longer working also the firewire interface had disappeared BUT the gigabit interface was working but was listed as a wireless interface; the Marvell interfaces were also listed now. After a bit of trial and error I discovered the fix: Apple have removed the Realtek Gigabit kext from the new Lion IONetworking.kext, the solution was to use the new Lion kext and install the Realtek kext from the latest release of ##### (which correctly installs it in the plugin folder of IONetworking.kext. I have disabled the onboard Marvell interfaces in the Bios as I currently have no use for them. The Firewire interface and wireless are both back as per initial install. Sorry this is a little long-winded (I'm known for it, alas! lol) I hope this info may be of use to others. Once again, thanks MaLd0n!

14. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks for that MaLd0n. Didn't sort my 'about this mac' and memory info issues but nothing that was already working seems broken either! cheers. :)
