I don't understand why about everyone's Random 4k uncached writes is so far below 100. Shouldn't the G5 the 100 score is based on be at 100 for that test too? If so, it's hard to believe Xbench is working right on intel.

 

Would it make a big difference if the partition being tested on is near the begining or end of a hard disk?

 

For example, on a 10,000 RPM SATA Raptor drive, the results show:

Hard to tell how big the difference would be, but testing on a more or less empty volume, in other words testing towards the inner parts of the disk, would be faster. The further outside the slower it gets.

Isn't it the other way arround? the fastest part of the disk is the outside since the plate goes faster under the heads?

Result : 103.35 Disabled Beam Sync, although enabled gave me 94, 80 and 78 results...

 

Configuration:

My system

 

ECS 915P-A

P4 630 3GHz 2MB cache

X600pro

120GB S-ATA Maxtor HDD

2GB DDR400 Memory

 

I did several test.

Standard = is with QE enabled, Beamsync on

The other tests are done with QE2D enabled and beamSync dissabled

 

The 3300-tests are with an overclocked system (FSB220 or 880MHz QDR). My CPU is then seen as a 3300MHz system.

Again I preformed a standard test and one with Beamsync disabled and QE2D enabled.

 

Standard my system recognises the ATI X600pro and enables CI and QE.

This is from an Intel P4 3.00GHz on a D945GNT MB, 1 GB DDR2 SDRAM, 250GB SATA, on-board GMA 950, running Mac OS X 10.4.6 (8I1119), already loaded with iLife 06 and Office 2004.
