x86 Xbench Results Thread

Here are my results from my system:

 

Asus A8V Mainboard

Athlon64 3500+ SSE3 CPU

1024 MB DDR RAM running at 333 Mhz in DC mode

HIS X1600 Pro IceQ

Samsung HD

Maxtor HD

 

Overall score is: 29.00

 

Yeah what's the deal, Horst has similar system specs as me, and the Quartz Graphics section of XBENCH is just SO LOW. I can't explain it. There has to be a solution to this. There must be some sort of quick fix.

You my friend, were correct. After applying the AGP Gart patch I got these results:

I think it is good, but how can i increase my result ?

Just add ram ? a sataII HD with 16mb buffer ? a new graphics card ?

I have full QE/CI with my native res. (1440x900), I have enabled Quarts Extreme 2D, and disabled BeamSync although the system seems faster this surprisingly only gave me a 1 or 2 point increase in xBench (having run the test before and after) however I'm not convinced that QE2D and BeamSync have had any positive effect on the xBench scores as any points increase seems to be just a fluctation, proven by getting an alltime low of 26.49 just now wih QE2D and BeamSync Disabled.

 

On another note, 'About This Mac' sees my AMD Opteron 148's Clock speed as 3GHz (which is incorrect, as it should be 2.2GHZ) its not overclocked or anything, and is SSE3 enabled.

 

Maybe I'm just complaining, at least it works :censored2:

 

Edit: Well, I decided to reinstall OSx86 as I needed to increase the HD Space. Using the Goatsecx Installer (10.4.6), felt super fast, was suspicious so I thought I'd run xBench before updating. Lo' and Behold, 55.08 w/out QE2D/BeamSync & 84.23 w/ QE2D BeamSync!! guess I'll have to investigate this 10.4.7 updating thing.

a lower score than I would have guessed. Open GL almost didn't work, and the random read speed was realllly slow. hmm oh well.

That is the oddest thing that I have ever seen. The only thing that I can think of would be incompatible graphics card and a non-sata hd. Here are results:

Stick in a low-life Radeon X600pro and these scores go upto 97 :-)

I have the same mainboard and cpu. Difference is more ram (2Gigabyte) and ST-Labs X600Pro.

 

My scores are with beamsync disabled, QI and CE enabled about 97 (and witout disk access they're at 102). On 10.4.5

 

So there is definitly potential as you can see.

have you tried disabling beamsync and enabling qe2x? it almost added 20 points to my score =)
