Snow Leopard on Hardware Raid Set (bootable)

anyone get the following message when creating a partion on a raid 0 array in disk utility (areca 1220): Posix reported an input/output error
2. I finally get around to replacing my ep45-ud3r with a ep45-ud3p so i can get 2 pci-e x16 slots (okay, one at x8) so i can put in my areca 1220 card to raid 4 ssd's. i used the ##### cd and a storebought 10.6.3 dvd. the array shows up, but i get an error message when trying to create a partition, saying this: "Posix reported an input/output error" or something along the lines of that when trying to partition/format. what's going on here? i tried to take 4 of my 8 gigs of ram out thinking that might be the problem... NO GO! same problem! =( -p p.s. tried posting in ide/sata controller forum about a week ago and no answer, trying in this forum

6. Open Box: areca ARC-1220 PCI-Express x8 SATA II Controller Card Subtotal $328.99 Tax $27.14 UPS 3 DAYS $6.98 Order Total $363.11 score! regularly 450! yay! wonder how this will do with 4 30gb ocz vertex ssd's!
7. i have things running great for a few months.. now when i boot into 10.6.2 or 10.5.8, i don't get an IP from the router. i ruled out dsdt since it was working.. the onboard nic does work in linux, windows xp32, and windows7 x64. specs are in my sig. i tried to also give it manual settings and dhcp with manual IP.. no go.. any ideas guys? -p p.s. this is not a wireless problem.. onboard wired nic p.p.s. i've tried searching topics, but all solutions is to try a usb or pci nic card. that's not gonna happen.

x86 Xbench Results Thread

my xbench scores aren't too much higher in softraid ssd configuration.. i tried a rocketraid 620, but that wasn't cool. scored have actually went lower. i'm not to worried about my video card performance.. for the most part, i'm happy with the setup. not going with the i-series anytime soon because i'd have to buy ram, cpu, and motherboard..

x86 Xbench Results Thread

considering i have a gts 250 nvidia, yours scores pass me up.. my cpu scores pull a lil over yours. what kinda hard drive you have?

x86 Xbench Results Thread

very nice scores. you scores pretty high due to your video card for the most part.. have you tried geekbench?
14. Word of advice: don't buy this product. you get what you pay for.
15. I had a thought.. 2 SSD's.. 30gigs each.. ocz vertex.. good stuff. had it on mac softraid for awhile. i have a gigabyte ep45-ud3r.. so no x4/x8 slots to spare. just pci and pci-e x1 slots available. on this board, i believe the x1 slots are 2.0 since the x16 slot is 2.0. so i get every squared away. so anyways, i bought a rocketraid 620 to get rid of the softraid. now, i know the lower end rocketraids aren't really hardware raid cards, but given the situation, i needed a pci-e x1 card.. got everything installed. snow leopard 10.6.2.. the xbench results for disk sucked.. worst than motherboard/SL softraid. sad, huh? i might just use this card as a port mulltiplier.
