This is on a Dell E510, Pentium D 820 @ 2.8GHz and 2.5GB ram running 10.4.6

anybody have any tips on how I could speed this up?

also, does anyone know about replacing the dell mobo in this machine with something that would be overclockable? I don't know much (or anything, besides what i've read on this site) about building PC's.

it might be more worth my while to try and sell this system and build something that's more versatile.

not sure what you need speeding up. if your hitting 100 thats a really good system. my imac is about 102.

sure you could overclock your processor, but believe me, your system is more than adequate.

does anything in osx seem slow?

that being said, your disk test is whats keeping you down. the random uncached write score. mine has been low also on three different systems. so im not sure its any good measurement of performance. i could be wrong tho.

however, nothing i do on my imac seems slow.

Hi all,

I got a 59.48 with the specifications in my sig.

I don't understand how I am getting such a good score compared to all the other faster machines listed here.

I used the "Mac OS X 10.4.4/5 osx86 Patched Bootable DVD" torrent with no other tweaks.

relax gondawa !

please next time tell to others that yours 66 pts are not realistic,

like u see on my results, on 10.4.5 i get 9.08 pts, and i don't shame of this ...

remember this is not the contest, nobody wins nobody lose,

when u post real pts with pointed those worse, other people will know on what configuration is it

and thanks to that they can change config of their OSx86

that depends on yours GFX mostly, and HDD

but tell me why ur bus is faster than CPU ? :)

My Specs:

Asus P5WD2-E Premium Mainboard

Intel Pentium D 805 2.66Ghz OC'd to 3.8Ghz

2GB of RAM configured using Dual Channel (Only makes a tiny difference really)

Seagate 250GB SATA Drive

MSI RX1600PRO-TD256E Radeon X1600 PRO PCI Express 256MB

Just an FYI I have BeamSync disabled. It seems that my disk is the bottleneck. I get a score of 138 if I don't include the disk test, but I think its silly to omit that giving that it's a system test and not of specific components. It seems odd that a G5 scores higher. I had a dual G5 and this machine seems a lot faster to me.

I ran it without the OpenGL test (MacVidia drivers don't have 3D acceleration yet :() and I scored 88.26. I'm hoping when the 3D acceleration for the nvidia drivers come out that my score will go up, but I'm not keeping my fingers crossed.
