  2. So, here are just a few fixes for 'InsanelyMac Theme' theme, if someone still cares about. Nothing really extra. Stylish Code: /* HEADER_LAYOUT*/ .fa-bell::before{content: "\f087";} .fa-envelope::before{content: "\f003";} .fa-warning::before, .fa-exclamation-triangle::before{content: "\f12a";} html[dir="ltr"] .ipsApp .ipsNotificationCount{right: -13px;} .ipsApp .ipsNotificationCount{top: -13px;} #ipsLayout_header{border-bottom: none;} /* BODY_LAYOUT */ #ipsLayout_body{box-shadow: rgba(0,0,0,0.25) 0px 1px 5px;background: #fdfdfd;border-radius: 2px;} /* PRIMARY_NAVIGATION_BAR */ #ipsLayout_header nav.ipsNavBar_noSubBars::after{display: none;} .ipsNavBar_primary.ipsNavBar_noSubBars > ul > li.ipsNavBar_active > a{background: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.25);color:#feffc6;} .ipsNavBar_primary.ipsNavBar_noSubBars > ul > li.ipsNavBar_active > a::after{content: "";width: 0;height: 0;border-width: 0px 4px 4px 4px;border-color: transparent;border-style: solid;border-bottom-color: #fff;position: absolute;bottom: 0;left: 50%;margin-left: -3px;} .ipsNavBar_primary.ipsNavBar_noSubBars{padding-bottom: 0;} /* BREADCRUMBS */ /** TOP **/ .ipsBreadcrumb.ipsBreadcrumb_top{margin: 15px 0;padding: 12px 10px;opacity: 0.6;border: 1px solid #dedede;border-radius: 2px;} .fa-home::before{content: none;} /* FOOTER_LAYOUT */ html[dir="ltr"] .ipsList_inline > li, #ipsLayout_footer a, #ipsLayout_footer p{color: #e9e9e9;}

  3. Ok. It's done. All I had to do was to clean install macOS on my second SSD and once the installation was complete I mounted the preboot volume on my main NVME disk and remove the folder that was causing the problem. There was a container inside and I just removed it. I didn't even detach the Windows hdd so that has no effect on the installation process anymore. The good thing is that I don't have the "Boot macOS from Preboot volume" in the clover GUI anymore just the macOS volume and the Recovery partition. After removing the contents of the preboot volume macOS is booting normally. The thing is that the contents of the Preboot volume cannot be deleted while macOS is running otherwise you'll get the "You don't have permission to remove the item blah blah blah" so I booted my system from another macOS (High Sierra of course) then mounted the Preboot volume that contained the folder that was causing the problem and then removed it and so on and so forth Here are the commands for performing the steps above: Cheers

  4. For all the others i have also updated the source code in the development branch of the TINU's github repo, so i suggest to take a look at it, i have added some things: - the new window shown in a previous post which allows to download an installer app useing the app store - if you use tinu to install mac os now you ahve also to agree to apple's macOS license, you have to do it after you have choosen an installer app to use. - added tool tips for drives and installer apps in the screens in which you have to choose them (tool tips for the drives will have a couple of small improvements in the next source code update) - fixed some potential issues with the progress bar in the installer creation screen - minor improvements and changements Here is the github repo if you want to take a look at the update source code: https://github.com/ITzTravelInTime/TINU/tree/development Download of a compiled version will be available shortly. Here is the download of the second pre-release: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/nvzss51qcieynve/TINU.zip changelog available in the previous post:

  6. For new users is definitely a 790 or 990 better and more modern. Your arguments are good. Not relevant to me. I have so many computers, MacPro, iMac ... I have the 780 only for beta testing, I do not use it anymore. However, it is fun to see how far it still works.

  8. That's not how it is supposed to work the new window with app downloads has been created only if you not have any installer apps in your system and to give you a littele help getting one, it's not supposed to ask you which version you want and then give it to you, and also download are always from the mac app store, because it mey be illegal if i provvide to you a download for that apps which is not from the app store. but i can make something about what are you saying, to let you get an installer app from the beginning if do not have one or want an older version (by getting it from the app store), maybe i can make a "get an installer app" button or something like that into the requrements screen, but i have to discuss it with my friend who helps me with the design, as always i will keep you updated with the progress.

  9. Hi guys, Today, I tried to switch the SMBIOS to the MBA5,2 from MBP9,2 to try the PowerNap. When I online, Apple Locked my iCloud password and I have to reset it. But, the thing is that a years ago, I start Hackintosh with 10.11.5 and use the MBA5,2 SMBIOS like from the tutorial by Jake Lo from OSXLatitude. I have to reset the password many times, almost after every minor/major update. But when I switch to the MBP9,2 like Herve, Everything went well, Apple seem to accept it. So, I thought maybe Apple have a list of SMBIOS model that shouldn't be fake and a list that contain fake-acceptable? I'm not sure about it because it may caused by the Fake serial number? Anyway, Have a good day!

  11. Heeey, someone actually listened to the feedback and decreased the size of the "bezels"! It's not a landing strip anymore. Good job. And thank you! Also, I LOVE the LinusTechTips dark theme. Actually, that's what I have activated on their forum, too. :))) So...if we could have that...to me it would be heaven! I love it! For as far as I know, that occurs on larger files, for some reasons... It could be a limit, or...something else.

  13. Unfortunately, no. That external repo (which BTW is not even needed for macOS/Linux) is being called automatically every time when you update your Basetools repo, unlike the edk2 repo at GitHub, where such relationship doesn't exist.

  15. @Matthew82 I noticed something that maybe could help us. Your SSDT partly works with me, I explain: Without your SSDT the UAD App to manage my devices crashes if I turn off one (the last in the chain). With your SSDT, if I connect to port 1 of my PCI card and turn off one of the connected devices (the last one in the chain), the UAD application does not crash and continues to show me the devices that remained turned on. If I connect to port 2 instead, and I do the same, the app crashes. You say your SSDT works on Asus pci Thunderbolt cards. The Asus ThunderboltEX card has a single Thunderbolt 3 port, while other manufacturers such as Gigabyte and ASRock have two. And if the problem is this? Now your SSDT is in the system. Here's what IOReg shows when I'm connected to Thunderbolt port 1: Lele’s iMac Thunderbolt port 1.zip This however, when I use the Thunderbolt port 2: Lele’s iMac Thunderbolt port 2.zip Is it possible to concentrate the SSDT so that it loads only one Thunderbolt Port?

  16. the process is not finished, the progress bar is in an indeterminate state, bacause it's waiting for the actual creation process to finish, and also there is a notification at the end of the process, but yes that progress bar looks too similar to a full progress bar, so i am considering doing something else, because when it goes into an indetermante state, i have no data to determinate the % of completetion of the process, so i have to use a system which indicates that something is going on but, not at which % it is, that why as first i have dcided to do an indeterminate progress bar, but that's just a comethical thing

  17. Hi MaLd0n, Recently I build this new setup, which was basically founded of my previous system (6700k). So I think a lot can be optimized. I'm missing DSDT and SSDT patches. Most is arranged in clover with the appropriate paches. The problem I have is that the system gets slow after a while. Especially the graphics are lagging (I'm aware of the poor Nvidia dirvers so I rolled them back already). So I hope you find optimisations to speed up the system and also a good staring point for future hacks because I'm not planning any upgrade next coming years. Can you please look into my upload if you can find some errors / optimisations? Hans-Beast-Hackintosh-i7-8700K.zip Thanks!

  19. @MaLd0n any more recommendations for me bro? I'm beginning to think that my board is very problematic. Perhaps i might consider flashing a newer bios if theres one available. What do you think.. I've had successful hacks with the g3258 before with proper power management.. But with this board, it's been a problem for me since the beginning.

  20. I started with an Optiplex 760 a few years back, I think it was with Mountain Lion. Then I got an Optiplex 780, which is not a whole lot different, I think maybe just the chipset. Now I have an Optiplex 790, and 990, and I would highly recommend to anyone just starting out to get a 790 or 990. With 790 SFF i5 cores going on eBay for about $110 US, I wouldn't be considering the older models myself. That's just my opinion. One thing to keep your older 755, 760 and 780's going, and maybe another if your just starting out. Just a matter of personal choice, but I sold both my 780's and upgraded. It's nice to have a little more CPU Power, and to not have to worry about rolling back kexts.

  21. This software says it restores deleted files on APFS: https://iboysoft.com/mac-data-recovery/apfs-data-recovery.html In order to maximise the chance of getting data back, you need to stop using that drive immediately. Every time disk writes happen, they could be overwriting your deleted data, making it impossible to restore. Ideally you would install the above data recovery software to a different bootable macOS HDD/SSD and then mount the disk with lost data as a secondary before trying to restore it. If that's not possible, at least minimise disk writes before you install and use the recovery software.

  22. Glad to see INSANELYMAC is back... BUT (and this is a BIG one): the new forum design is a big step back! I got eyecancer from the design. Overview is missing completely. Who is responsable for it? As already mentioned here: the font on its blue background is only readable, if u select it with the mouse. InsanelyMac has done so many good jobs in the past, but this is... sorry, can't find the right words! Please don't hurt me, it's JUST my personal mind. And i know, you guys can do better and are already working on "finetuning" the new look. Anyway... glad to have you all back. :-)

  30. Hi, Thanks for these great tools, I have a few questions. I have my files dumped and can look at them with your bioskeydump tool. I have keytool image on a usb drive and can add certs to the various keys etc. I Just need to know how to proceed. Do I use my current dumped files as the base then add the clover-exchange cert to KEK(the canonical-isle of man cert from your KEK?) and clover-signing cert(from src?) to db, then at the end put the PK you provided in place to secure it? Do I have to do anything else to the keys like sign one with another etc? I then just sign all of the .efi binary files from my boot loader and the boot.efi from apple, as described above? You also mentioned that the boot.efi wouldn't verify and might need stripped? IF so how to do that? Or, should boot.efi still run as is once signed? thanks. Q

  31. Added Windows versions of the app + slightly updated source. It now builds with MSVC too... Made Win32 and Win64 versions with MSVC 2010. Made Win32 version with MinGW32 too... I have no Linux installed or I would compile it there too

  32. I ran ioreg -l in the terminal and this is the closes thing to cpu-type that I can find. | "OSKernelCPUType" = 16777223 Is that the value I need to use or am I on the wrong track? Also, is this kext 64 bit compatible?

  33. My 700 mhz iMac has dual-layer burner. So I've prepared the dual layer disc. When I try to install after I choose English language I get - "cannot install on this computer". I am assuming this is because it's not 800 mhz or higher. But that seems sort of silly - difference between 800 & 700. So, what I want to know is if removing X-Code will do the trick, not because of the size of a dual layer disc to save space (which isn't really the issue) or will do the trick because there is a file or command in XCode that prevents the install on any computer with a processor speed less than 800 mhz. I would really hate to waste another dual layer disc. Thanks....

  34. Developers keep this forum moving. Without them, nothing would get done. They have real lives and don't owe us anything. We can appreciate their efforts but bugging them gets us no where. So here's what we're going to do. Starting today, any thread that even seems remotely antagonistic to developers will be locked immediately (or deleted depending on its content). Any post that does not offer constructive information on the drivers - that means any posts that makes opinions about what the developer should or should not do - will simple be deleted. We're here as a technical forum, not one where we critique and bother people. Troubleshooting and helping with the drivers are encouraged; whining and making the dev angry is not. Finally, if it comes to my attention that you have been hassling any developer via PMs or any other method, you will be suspended. End of story. Why are we taking these measures? Because great assets like JaS and Omni will be lost if you keep up what you've been doing. We've already lost a few devs this way. It won't happen anymore. Period. We've got some great plans to help devs out in the very near future. They are the lifeblood of this forum and I will not allow 1% of you to ruin it for the rest.
