Introducing the newest additions to the InsanelyMac team...

I've learned a lot over the past two years – I've discovered things about myself and the way life works. I've also learned that if a community like this is going to be run well, it has to be done by those who can commit the time and resources to seeing that through. I was able to fill that role for the past 2 years, but now the time has come to pass that to others who can carry the site forward.

I'm really excited to introduce you to the new owners of InsanelyMac: Brendan, Paul, Ed, and Jim. They started Fubra Limited - a small UK based web services group - a few years back to help people find (and use) good information. Ed and Jim also have their own design studio, do1. One of the reasons I chose to sell to them, out of the all other offers I received, was that they're passionate about helping people find the things and communities they're looking for.

They're all Mac fans, and Jim, one of the guys who'll be helping here, has been an InsanelyMac member (ColdFusion) since a month after this site was started. These guys are great because they're interested in the same things we are. Another reason I wanted to sell to them is that the only changes they want to make are improvements: better news, additional focus on new tweakable products like AppleTV, and other projects. And since their expertise is in content, expect things to get a lot easier to find. (A better search function! Yay!) Plus, since they had to buy the site, they'll be accountable to themselves and others, since the money they put forward acts as a contract of sincerity.

Although this will be their first Mac forum to run, these guys are no strangers to the Web (or Macs or OSx86), and their team has the technical skill to do the things I've only dreamed about. They'll be able to bring a more professional – but still lighthearted and fun – air to the site than I've been able to give. They're in their 20's like many of us, so that helps too.

In short, Ed and Jim and their friends will bring a fresh perspective to InsanelyMac that'll ensure it remains a place we're proud to call home. The contract we signed ensures that I'll be around for the next 3 years (at the very least!) so I won't be going anywhere. :)

You'll get to know these guys better in the upcoming few days and weeks. We're planning some IRC Q&A sessions and we'll let you know more when we get the dates set. Welcome to InsanelyMac, guys!

Hello everyone,

I'm Brendan I work with Paul at Fubra, it's nice to meet you all we are really excited that everyone is so positive and I shall look forward building on the already great community that Swad, the mods and every poster has created here! We are really glad that Swad is able to stay on and continue posting here while he completes his studies and wish him well with them.

I hope that our role can be to create more features that help you get the latest news about the topics you care about faster. We realise that we are nothing without you so we will be working on some new features we have got ideas about already and asking you along the way for ideas so that we can make sure we are always improving.

Thanks again for the amazing welcome.

Brendan

At last - our new owners speak! :)

Welcome to the forum guys. I'd recommend you get your IRC accounts set up.

That reminds me... The Chat page (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?aut...o=show&id=3) needs to be updated. Can an Admin make it point to irc.moofspeak.net...?

I can't post the 'queen'... :thumbsup_anim:

Anywho, welcome guys!! This community has created so many Apple lovers (like myself), and I know that we will ...eventually... overpower Mr. Gates himself.

Swad and all who have contributed have done a great job, and I can't wait to see the future of InsanelyMac...

Again, Welcome!!!!

Really? Maybe you can'f find it.

When you write a post click on "Show All" on the smilies section.

Then scroll right down.

There you'll see Bin Ladin :thumbsup_anim: , The guy he's sent :thumbsup_anim: , the soldiers who are going to stop him :thumbsup_anim: , the people who are being saved :yoji: , and then the Queen :) who's there to just look good and take the credit.

EDIT:

Whoever added the first three must really have been having a bad day.

Personally I've always thought that Swad was very open minded. At least he is a lot more than most other forums. This whole place is just one big

LoL! I'm sure it can't be as bad as some of the {censored} I've said and heard about string theory :s

Completely off-topic and stupid All these theories suck, a couple of years ago string theory was the big hu-ha, then it got disproven :\ . So many theories, cant they just be happy to know that we are alive, and thats that.

Thanks for the intro Swad...and thanks for the welcome everyone else!

As Swad mentioned, I've basically been interested in OSX86 from its inception, mainly coz my mate Ed was always banging on about how much better OSX is than "Windoze"...so I decided to build a Hackintosh (with the recommended hardware) and try it for myself. It went pretty smoothly and I was suitably impressed with OSX and have been keen on everything Apple ever since! (I even bought a MacBook).

It seemed pretty clear to me that osxproject.org was THE place to get help and advice on OSX86, so I was extremely excited when Ed mentioned that we'll be involved with maintaining and building upon InsanelyMac.

We'll be starting a thread for improvements & suggestions shortly....but I see we already have a few...like the iTeam, LOL! And God Save The Queen....we'll bear those in mind :)

British bands btw....don't think anyone mentioned Radiohead ;)

Watch this space for a more thorough introduction of ourselves!

-Jim
