vassillios
Will you use 2D or 3D dock on bottom?
brewno
Definitely 3D on the bottom, but if I decide to put it on the side I dont think we have much of an option...
Timan
2d one, specially since I use autohide, it just feels better than that half ass 3d dock.
ukp
To be able to use the 2D dock, you need to open terminal.app (Applications->Utilities) and enter the following 2 commands : defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES and killall Dock (Thanks to the image on macrumours)
milesce
I use it on the side, so I can leave the windows taskbar at the bottom.

Danyel
I'm going for 3D (if and when I get Leopard), but I use AutoHide also.
vassillios
The thing about using 2D on the bottom is that those who have problems with the shadows in the 3D dock won't have to worry about them now. I kinda like the look of the 2D dock. Oh yeah, if you enter those commands to 2D, how do you get 3D back if you end up preferring it over the 2D? thanks

iMags
I hate the look of the 3D dock! At first, it looked cool, but now it's just too much... Icon-reflection, windows-reflection, silly S-curve-reflection, dumb-perspective-thing.... IT'S TOO F***ING MUCH! The 2D dock is soo much nicer! webbdogg
How about a cleardock option? I hate the 3d version after using it a month now. I will get rid of the background asap.
exscape
Huh, I didn't know there was an option, thanks! Stupid Apple TBH, why not a simple checkbox in the prefpane? Naah lets force the 3D look on people.

rathalos
did anyone notice? the shadows casted by the icons in the 3d dock is now less eye catching and more translucent? if only apple made it to be a very blurred shadow... that would look so much better.... manitoba98
If I choose 2D on the bottom and later change my mind and want the 3D back, how can I get 3D back? Same way you turned 2D on, but change the "YES" to "NO". defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean NO
