Hey there... An unsuccesful user here...

I use uphuck 10.4.9

My specs Intel pentium 4 2.26 GHZ (Socket 478) SSE2

DFI motherboard with 845G graphics

512 RAM

Sound Blaster Audigy platinium.

2 Hard drives. Installations comes on the first one, splitted into two partitions. Just like in the tutorial.

Everything is done by tutorial

While installing i choose Intel SSE2, april 1 kernel, azalia driver and skype with firefox

After installation i need to reboot and i come up with a window telling i need to reboot.

I rebooted, pressed F8 and ran again with -v function.

Heres whats seen

Thanks for any information

Oh yes....

I did it, i read some more info in these forums, and i did a simple install(i only chose intel and checked where it tells to remove sth. and SSE2 kernel for intel)

For the first time it loaded to the grey apple logo and stopped.

Then i restarted and everything started normally. I'm EVEn posting here from OSX86

BUT.... i cant see my 2-nd hard drive (a 160GB Western digital). it is connected as a slave.

I cant hear any sound

And my resolution is 1024x768. But on windows i can handle 1280x1024.

Maybe any solutions?

Thanks for the effort. I'm so happy ATM. :(

Dear uphuck,

realy nice work! I had JaS 10.4.8 incl PPF1 and PPF2 before and it works, but it works laggy and not fine, so I can't use it for real workin.

I installed your 1.2 release today and it runs real perfect. Creamy with no lags

My machine:

AMD Athlon 64 +3700 2,2GHz (11x200) San Diego

ECS n-Force 3A nVIDIA nForce3 250, AMD Hammer

2x512mb PC3200 MDT DDR

ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Atlantis

Maxtor 6L300R0 (300 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133)

SAMSUNG SP0802N USB Device (80 GB, 7200 RPM, Ultra-ATA/133)

ST3320620AS (320 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)

WDC WD1600JB-00EVA0 (149 GB, IDE)

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4163B

I have installed the universal Kernel 2

My CPU is recognized with 800Mhz FSB instead of 400Mhz, but this is not a problem for me^^

Now I'm verry happy with my new Hackintosh, great work, thank you!

Best Regards, Rakete

(I must apologize for my broken language, english reading is quite not a problem, but writing sucks)

@ iamsilvermember:

there are Intel SSE2, Intel SSE3, Universal1 and Universal2...

Just try until it works... but always remove the powermangement...

a komplete working installation takes only about 15 minutes... just try until it works!

I did more test runs over the day. I have to remove powermanagement to get my Hackintosh come to at least a grey screen with the apple logo before it panics with kernel universal 1 or 2 (SSE3 doesn't work at all). Still can't get verbose mode though with my set up. Trying more...

i have tried every single one together with the removepowermanagement but still no luck

after rebooting i am asked to restart and can never go into the os

Yes thanx for your reply. I'm aware of that torrent. I even downloaded it there.

But that is v1.2. Uphuck did not release v1.3 as far as I know.

There is some scatchy info to be found on the inet about what will be included in v1.3.

But that's all I can find.

So that's why I asked Uphuck if he could tell us if and when he will release v1.3.

2. there's no kernel in v1.2 that the date is 15 March. you changed the kernel and now it's complaining about acpiplatform.

hum... I remember I chose an AMD kernel from the setup list. Maybe I got the wrong one?

I'm gonna try another installation

JSR: Your Board MUST work. Me and a friend have exactly the same board and we tested the AMD SSE3 and the universal kernel, they're working. But we're using a single HD for OS X and don't have a dual X2 cpu. Try to boot with -v cpus=1 and/or set the CPU Multiplier in BIOS to 11.5 or so, that should eliminate dual-core problems. Also take a look into my nForce 4 driver package. Wish you luck.

for v1.3, the bad report of dependency error of extensions is solved, I'm working on personal file sharing. smb is working on my system, the people which has problems with samba, use smbfs.kext from 10.4.5 and let me know the results, then i can add it to v1.3.

Hey Uphuck!

I am running the same motherboard as yours, and a core2duo e6600. Different graphics (geforce 7900) but otherwise our systems are pretty close. What patches do you use when you install from your disc? Do you get network and sound working 100% from the initial install or do you then have to run some extra stuff afterwards?

Thanks for all the work you put into this!

D.

Hi Every one, Im new to the board and working on building a hackingtosh system here for goofing around on.

I have read a bunch of great info on the board so far, but am still having some trouble locating the proper installation files...

From what Ive read I think Id like to try using uphuck's release v1.2 Is there any one that would be willing to send me an invite to Demonoid?

Or some other means in which to obtain this release.

Thanks in advance.

Hello there, first thanks to all for all of the advice and info that i've read here so far, i'm afraid that this is another request for an invite to join Demonoid... I can't wait to try OSX out on my PC and would be very gratefull if someone could PM me an invite.

Thanks in advance...
