Do you get full acceleration with RX 6800 XT in Tahoe ?  It was working perfectly in Sonoma/Sequoia with 220.000  metal score , but very slow in Tahoe

It was very slow when i first booted into it but after a minute or two it has been buttery smooth.

I do not use WhatEverGreen

Is there anyway to convert my old USBPorts.kext to the SSDT-UIAC that seems to work for Tahoe?

USBPorts.kext.zip 1.73 kB · 1 download

Convert...I don't know... But people said you can generate it easily with Hackintool. Just go to the USB section of Hackintool, then on the bottom, click Export. It will give you dsm and aml files for SSDT-UIAC. Then you can use the aml in ACPI folder, and set into the config.plist.

I tried it, it seems to create extra issues on my machine, and I'm not 100% sure I need it in the first place. But it might work perfectly fine for yours.

Unfortunately for me Hackintool does not show much at all in Tahoe. Maybe because AMD.

Need to experiment with injecting all usb ports and trying again.

Ah, ok. I thought you were doing this on Sequoia. My bad.

I wanted to install Tahoe to a separate partition but instead I upgraded Sequoia to Tahoe without thinking. I actually don’t think it gave me the option. I’ve been away from the scene for a while.

If you upgraded from System Settings, yeah, I don't think it gives you an option... I downloaded the full installer and chose another partition I created earlier. But still the installation won't go through. Keeps rebooting shortly (about 15-20s in) after starting. And if I start the installation from USB, it gets stuck at some random point.

I even tested OpCore Simplify which...as the name says, it did simplify some things. And it might be a good tool, especially if you're doing this from Windows and want to switch to MacOS. I already have MacOS, so that wasn't the case for me. But I also have Windows on anther SSD. So it wasn't a problem for me to boot into it and do it from there.

I thought maybe my config was wrong (which it still might be...) but I got the exact same result with the EFI it generated. So...the issue is either with the config, but with both configs, or...it's not an issue with the config. :))

Thank you very much. I successfully installed Tahoe on my PC (Core i7 12th generation processor, AMD Radeon RX6600XT, Asus B660M-Plus motherboard) using your EFI folder. The only problem is that Bluetooth and Ethernet are not connecting.

It's a very early version, (anyway my Ethernet works normally),

now you have to adjust the USB first and that other device doesn't work properly for you,

but my opinion is to wait for the next version, as well as give the opencore developers time to react, and help as.

I'm glad my EFI folder helped you in any case. 😉

Yeah I did it from system settings, I am downloading the full installer now just in case things go bad.
I have not used macOS on an intel hack for a while now so I don't think i'll be much to you.

I also have a real Mac, and while I had no such issues on that one, it hasn't been working perfectly fine either. For example, right now, it looks like I can't install apps that were originally made for iPad, on my MacBook. It's just stuck in installation. The hack has been a side project, and a passion/curiosity project on that. Because when everything "just works", where's the fun in that, right? :))

But, of course, this is one of the downsides of being an early adopter. I'm sure Apple will fix it soon, but what I'm trying to say is that, even on officially supported hardware, things don't always go the right way. :))

WEG  1.7.0. SMBIOS=MacPro7,1 boot-args=-wegnoigpu

Unstable when I try to edit something here with Firefox it became black screen immediately and no response to my instruction any more !

So it must be fixed ASAP.

Replaced it with RX-6600 seems more stable at TaHoe, however it got panic during booting at 15.5.

I can boot 15.5 with RX-560 without any issue.

But Safari is much stable than Firefox at TaHoe now!

[Edit]

Replaced with RX-6600 made my H97M-E hackintosh working stably at TaHoe now !

Much much better than with RX-560.

It can be wake-up normally from S3 sleep without blank screen issue.

Hi, could you please share your EFI for Haswell desktop?
I have an i5-4460 that reboots very early at Tahoe installer.
Cheers.

Gigabyte H610M-H-V2 / i7-12700KF / SAPPHIRE PULSE AMD Radeon RX 6600

It would be bragging to say that I installed the system on this Gigabyte. I simply moved the partition with the installed system (Acer notebook) to another computer.
The fact that the system starts and works normally allows us to localize the problem due to which most Tahoe installations fail for our colleagues.
The problem is in the setup wizard before exiting to the desktop.

Import it into Hackintool and then export. The export will give you a SSDT.UIAC

That was the first thing i tried but it just hangs on exporting and the ports did not show up as populated.

you can manually edit old kext and use in tahoe without new mapping,
