@ Mirone

For only Office and Internet is also the HD5450 very good. We use this card all for Optiplex. Does not work OOB, but with DSDT Vanilla Patch this card works with all versions, including Sierra and HDMI audio and sleep (Update safe). HD5450 is very cheap on the market.

@macpeet,

  I tested the sound from front port and back and they work. I connected a Mic that was working with Voodoohda and they do not work on either. Master volume on both cannot be adjusted.  I have a USB webcam that contains a Mic and that is working.

Ok, thanks, with webcam at least super.

(Please fill your signature with the hardware details!)

try this for Mic/LineIn:

File deleted, no longer relevant!

Edit:

Do not feel like further attempts? Nobody with 755 ready?

Without perfection of the audio codec I will not add this to the release.

Hello, First time hackintosh.

Hardware: the same as MacPeet. Even the video card.

USB as installer.

Latest Clover r3949

First boot from hard drive , stuck at the apple logo  (0%)

Post the EFI folder (zip it) of your USB stick please.

Post the EFI folder (zip it) of your USB stick please.

Thanks for your response. After days research, finally I switch to ASUS HD5450(1G) from the XFX HD 5450(1G), and everything works very well right now.

This idea coming from @bclinton who mention XFX HD 5450's problem in  [Guide] DELL 780 EL CAPITAN.

Thanks all the information in this topic.

Thank you all.

Hello all and first thanks MacPeet for this awesome guide. I've used it for a Dell 755 (q35) with Core2Duo E8400, 2GB of DDR2@800 (will get more soon, got 2 empty dimm) and Gigabyte HD5450(fanless). I've used your DSDT, kexts and Config.plist from OP and works like a bliss (been unable to even boot at 10.11 or 10.12 trying other DSDTs and boot flags). If you want the boot logs or whatever to check compatibility on other desktops I'll upload it

@runo

Compare DSDT and config.plist and the Kext's from Post#1 !!!

@kilo23
You can also update from the Capitan. (only SMBIOS iMac10,1, SMBIOS MacPro3,1 not works)
1. Backup from Capitan!!!
2. Before, install new Clover in Capitan, sample version 3773.
3. All Kext's to EFI/Clover/kexts/10.11/ and to EFI/Clover/kexts/10.12/   !!!
4. SIP 0x67
5. Download macOS Sierra from appstore and run
6. After restarting, switch to the installer in the CloverBootloader
7. The rest as always.

After the installation, audio no longer works. See Post#1 for more info.

Hi MacPeet! I am going to try to update to Sierra from El Capitan on my Dell 780, SMBIOS 10,1, HD5450

Question: On Step 2, What settings do you use to install Clover on the El Capitan before installing Sierra?

These were the options I used when installing El Capitan:

  • Install Clover in ESP
  • Install boot0af in MBR
  • CloverEFI 64-Bits SATA
  • Themes, Select BootCamp
  • Install RC Scripts In Target Volume
  • Install Clover Preference Pane

or do I use these options for Step 2 onto my El Capitan Hard Drive before Sierra install

  • Bootloader / Install boot0af in the MBR
  • CloverEFI / Clover-EFI 64Bit SATA
  • Drivers64UEFI / EmuVariableUefi-64
  • Drivers64UEFI / OsxAptioFixDrv-64
  • Drivers64UEFI / PartitionDxe-64

Do I use the same Clover options for Step 2?

@Drpw

My DSDT and config.plist from post # 1 is only for 780/760.
Perhaps in the Capitan thread a DSDT for 755?

@bocajoe
Clover version must be current, with Sierra support.
I currently have 3944.
Use the options you used before.
so then:
  • Install Clover in ESP
  • Install boot0af in MBR
  • CloverEFI 64-Bits SATA
  • Themes, Select BootCamp
  • Install RC Scripts In Target Volume
  • Install Clover Preference Pane

nope, the one from the OP worked, I know since I'm using Shrike framebuffer, which is in the OP one. I thought that it might be 780 one while I was already booting installer, but it booted and looked fine so I went ahead, and it works fine. Generated serial for SMBIOS on Clover Configurator and got iCloud, iMessage all working. It works good so I didn't think about using the other one

My specs:

  • Intel Core Duo E8400 @ 3.0GHz
  • 8G RAM
  • ASUS HD 5450 1G
  • DSDT downloading from post#1
  • TP-Link TL-WN851ND works very well.  With this card installed, I have to sacrifice the VGA port which is not a big deal for me.
  • BIOS version A15

Hi all, after couple of days testing, There are still two issues I can't figure out. I think I need you guys help.

Sleep/Wake: The whole system sleep well but can't wake from sleep(No video signal)

Sound:          I use AppleALC (Version 1.0.18) and change the to "0B" in DSDT file HDEF section. Right now sound over HDMI works(can't adjust the volume, but for me it's ok).

                     On-board speaker not work, and Microphone not work.

 The attached files are the My DSDT and config.plist . Thanks in advance.

@Ricky000

You have "0B" (11) in DSDT file HDEF and in the Clover at AudioInject LayoutID 1. Delete the LayoutID 1 in the Clover!

You have in the Clover Inject Nividia on, not necessary with HD5450. Remove this.

Update:
macOS 10.12.2 16C67 works

Do you have under System Settings / Energy for Sleep?

Do you have USB devices on the computer? (WLAN / BT?) These can also prevent sleep.

Update:

macOS 10.12.3 DP Beta 1 16D12b works

My is XFX one HD5450 1GB, Ven: 1002 Dev: 68F9, works with DSDT-Device-Vanilla-Patch without problems, including sleep.

Vanilla-Device-Patch to 68E0 and Framebuffer "Shrike", Dual Link 1 and Inject ATI works here, connected via HDMI cable.

Has been working so since Yosemite.

Update:

macOS 10.12.3 DP Beta 2 16D17a works
