  3. Hi, I've just installed Sierra in VMWare from a distro and everything seems to be working fine, except for the graphics performance. I have the newest tools installed and I've tried using the beamoff app. That, unfortunately, doesn't work on Sierra, since Apple has started using Metal instead of OpenGL. Any ideas?

Requirements Here are the requirements: A Dell Latitude E6320 – This is necessary to install macOS Sierra for this tutorial A copy of Mac OS X – This can be in the form of an existing hackintosh, a virtual machine within Windows or Linux, or even a regular Mac. If you don’t have any of these things, then find someone who can help you out for a while. I prefer using a hackintosh with OSX El Capitan, Using an already working copy of Mac OS X either in a VM or a native hackintosh install is HIGHLY recommended. A 8GB USB flash drive (or larger) – We’ll be copying the files to the drive appropriately, so make sure that you have a flash drive with enough storage space (8GB or larger). A copy of macOS Sierra – The method used by this guide requires that you have a copy of the macOS Sierra Installation app, wich is available for free from the Mac App Store. 30-60 minutes of time – Depending on how tech-savvy you are, this may be quick, or it may take a while. An SSD or HDD to install 10.12 to – For me, I used a 500GB HDD to install 10.12 to. An Wireless N Nano USB Adaptor – For use with wifi Highly recommended. I use a TP-LINK TL-WN725N adaptor. E6320_V2.zip – This ZIP file contains everything that you need to get your flash drive properly prepared. 3. My Specs My installation was successfully done on an Dell Latitude E6320 i5-2520M laptop computer with the following specs. Intel Core i5-2520M @ 2.5GHz, 3MB cache, Dual Core 4GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM Western Digital 250GB HDD INTEL HD3000 Video Intel 825xx onboard network Dell wireless 375 Bluetooth 3.0 onboard (works OOB) IDT 92HDxxx HD audio onboard TL-WN725N Wireless N Nano USB Adaptor Apple Magic Trackpad (only @home) Apple Wireless Keyboard US (only @home) Apple Magic Mouse 4. Download OS X Sierra Download macOS Sierra from the Mac App Store. Once macOS Sierra is downloaded, close the install pop-up that appears using Command (⌘)+Q. Your USB should be at least 8GB and a USB 3.0 drive is preferred. Kingston sells an 8GB USB 3.0 drive for less than 10 euro. Now, we need to prepare the USB Drive so that it will properly bootup on your PC. Make sure that the disk you choose to use doesn't contain anything that you want to keep, because the following tutorial will purge everything on the drive. Open Finder - Applications and right-click on Install macOS Sierra and select Show Package Contents. Open Contents - Resources. Open a Terminal window thru Applications - Utilities - Terminal. 7. THE GREAT GUIDE SIERRA + Z820 *** 02/17/2018 (from El capitan's guide) Introduction: Hi everybody. Yes I know. Maybe it is a little late for Sierra but I need a stable system and I always go to for final release. In my opinion, High Sierra is a beta. Anyway, yes, it’s late, but I didn’t have too much time last year. WORK- Everything except Sleep and common graphical issues related with non-supported graphic cards and nvidia drivers. Some important topics: 1. The update. Some procedures are now easier and shorter, and with the help of DSDT patched, an/or DSDT auto-patches, I hope it will be easier for everybody. This is a guide DSDT-centric. If you have the right bios version, you will be able to get it quick and easy. If not, I’ve described how do it anyway. But I strongly recommend update the bios to 3.91. It´s a safe process from windows. 2. Credits. I’m not an expert. Best improves of this guide has been possible thanks to some people. All credit for them. -Thanks for the audio fix for macpeet and Rockey12 -Thanks for the Lsi driver patched for Sierra to despeinao -Thanks for DSDT patching to Maldon -Thanks for SSDT patching info for 26x7 and 26x3 models to Hugodlc 3. Please, help to improve this guide. Consider any part of this guide open to discuss. If you see something wrong, or which could be improved, please, just say it, and I’ll fix it. English is not my native language. If you can’t understand some step, or something could be best written, please, just say it (via pm if you want ) and I’ll fix it too 4. Some important considerations about hardware: In short, there are V1 versions (for E5-Xeons V1, Sandy Bridge) and V2 (for E5-Xeons V2, Ivy bridge). Both of them are identical in generic specs (audio, usb, ethernet, pci, etc), but their bios are slightly different. Remember that DSDT is related to bios version. And SSDT is related to CPU model. Don’t exchange them. I provided DSDTs for 3.91 in V1 and V2 versions. If you have other version, and you don’t want or you can’t update, just follow the full guide to patch your DSDT. Anyway, with patches, edit DSDT is easy. But, I’m still recommeding extract your DSDT and SSDT and patch them. IMPORTANT WARNING FOR 26x7 and 26x3 USERS!!!. These models have a special cpu definitions in SSDT, causing the “Should have XX threads but only found YY” error. Please, go to Appendix (under construction). 5. And please, (this is for "anonymous" users) don't PM me with questions. No need for that. Any question can be answered openly. Ok, let’s go. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PART I 1-BIOS SETUP This guide is for UEFI systems. This is not important to follow this guide except in Clover installation section. Keep in mind it to adapt some settings if you need it, use legacy-bios mode. If you don’t need any special option, and you have been playing with options, reset the bios to default settings. 6. The main BIOS options are: In storage options: set ACHI mode (IMPORTANT). Set boot order. UEFI first, (for me), USB first and HD second. Security options: Device Security: I like disable unused devices (scu controller Disable Vt-d. IMPORTANT and serial port). Optional Disable Secure boot. Enabled. (For boot with non signed OS). In power options: I use UEFI boot, but I keep legacy support active. Set Runtime power management to Enabled. This option will allow Power (This is optional.) Management later. In power options: In Advanced: About the rest of options, I’m not sure of the impact in Set PXE, Storage and Video to EFI. (for me). performance. If you have a graphic card non EFI-compliant, you can set video in Legacy, keeping an UEFI boot. Don’t forget set thunderbolt policy in Legacy mode. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PART II: INSTALLATION 7- MEDIA CREATION (This guide assume you have a MacOs running. I have no idea how do it on PC) -Important: Download Sierra dmg only from Apple. Don´t use suspicious dmgs or Isos. It’s not longer available to search in Apple Store, but you can find one link to download it from Apple Store. ("get os mac os sierra" link) It’s 10.12.6. Let the file in Applications folder. (and keep one compressed copy for future attempts). -Download my stuff folder with all necessary stuff. -Format one USB stick with common settings: Go to erase tab, select GUID partition table in options, and Mac Os Extended (Journaled) as Filesystem. Name the partition as “USB”. Ok to Apply. -On a terminal window, type (copy and paste) : sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction -Enter and type your admin password. It will take 10-15 minutes. (When it finish, you’ll see the prompt again) 8. INSTALL CLOVER. -Download Clover from here . Version used to make this guide: Clover_v2.4k_r4359 ((Sierra requires r3994 or newer) ) -Download Clover Configurator from here. It makes easier edit config.plist file -Download plisteditor pro demo for edit info.plist files. -Download additional tools for install kexts, fix permissions and rebuild cache. I use Kext helper from rampage’s dmg, although I need always forcequit. An alternative is Kext Utility. -Maybe EFI mounter (from download sections). CloverConfigurator mounts EFI too, but maybe with this utility is easier. -Install Clover in the USB. On first screen, don’t forget change the install location in order to do not install on your Internal HD. Select your USB stick. -Click on Customize. -Choose “Install for UEFI booting only” and “Install Clover in the ESP” as main options (if your system is UEFI-based) -This is optional: choose your favorite Theme. -In Drivers64UEFI select: / EmuVariableUefi-64 / OsxAptionFix2Drv Let the rest of option unselected and Click on Install. 9- CONFIGURE CLOVER When clover finish, It will mount EFI partition. Time to modify it. You’ll find all necessary files in my folder. There are three things to modify: config.plist, drivers, and kexts -Owners of CPU models 26x7 or 26x3 see appendix 2. (It’s not finished yet) 9.1 Config.plist The default config.plist is not useful for us. Replace it by mine (folder n.2) But take a look to options (with clover configurator) to understand my options in order to be able to adapt them for your specs or your preferences. It’s a basic config.plist. I could add more options or fixes. but is a good idea install with minimum options. Acpi. All fixes in ACPI section has been removed except some minor fixes in 2 subsection, smart ups option, etc. SmartUps it’s not important now, but it will be later. So I prefer activate this option. The most important, The rename usb devices patches are included. Boot Bootflags needed are only -v and npci=0x2000. Of course -v is optional only to see the boot process. You can deactivate it when you finish. Any option activated in Boot Graphics/ Cpu/Device/Disable driver Gui options. These are only personal preferences. Graphics. Any Graphic injection and any option activated. At least, no needed for my 1080ti card. Check it out for your card video. An essential section. Kernels Patches needed RT Variables booterConfig, and Csr to deactivate security policy in Sierra. The info values are taken from smbios. One important change from El cap’s guide. SMBIOS is set to Mac Pro 6,1. We will be able to avoid the black screen later, with the right kexts. IMPORTANT—> press “generate new” repeatedly to get one random fresh serial number System parameter: 9.2 -Drivers64UEFI folder. You’ll see more drivers installed than you selected. That is because some of them are mandatories. That is fine. As usual, delete VBoxHfs-64 driver and replace it by HFSPlus.efi. (from my folder). 9.3 Kexts: Add Kexts from my stuff to /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/10.12 They are: -FakeSMC.kext ,(from rampagdev, dual cpu dmg or X79 ) Without lpc sensor plugin. This plugin sometimes causes KP -VoodooTSCync.kext, to avoid boot with -x (from rampagdev, dual cpu dmg or X79.dmg) You’ll find several versions into my folder. One generic version ans several for every core number. I haven’t noticed any change using the generic or the specific version. I think that is not important for our platform. I provided the generic version and customized versions for every cpu. Anyway, try if you want. The customize method is: Anyway, I provided of all VoodooTSCync.kext versions already patched. -IntelMausiEthernet.kext. One better kext for the ethernet card from rehabman. (2017-0914 version) -UsbInjectall, for USB2 from rehabman ( 2017-1214 version) And add to /EFI/CLOVER/Kexts/others -Lilu kext (from here , 1.2.0 version 1.2.2 version) -NvidiaGraphicsFixup.kext ( from here , 1.2.1) This couple of kexts avoid black screen booting with 6,1 smbios. Is quite important keep in mind the versions of these kexts. 1.2.1 works only with lilu 1.2.0. In a future, is important keep the right versions among this kexts. Thats all. We have our usb installer ready. Copy in a folder all stuff necessary to repeat the process and copy it to the USB stick. You will have it available after first boot. Reboot from the USB stick and install Sierra. 10- INSTALLATION Some advices: -The internal HD have to be connected to grey internal sata connectors labeled as AHCI 6Gb/s into HP's doc. -Use only USB2 ports, and only in the front USB2 port. -Don’t use USB hubs, or cable extenders… (personal issues) -Unplug any other usb device -The boot process may be slow, (and with terrible and apocalyptic errors). Be patient -Maybe, the boot stucks with the error “consideredRebuildKernel …. blabla”. Just reboot again. -If you have two monitors, shutdown one can help with graphical errors. -Plug your graphic card in PCI Slot 2. -For inexperienced users, to install: On first screen, go to disk utility and erase the Volume. (Mac Os Extended (Journaled) and GPT). Quit the utility and return to first screen. Choose Install. -Now the process is splitted in two steps. The first step promises take only 8 minutes. Nope. It will take 30-40 minutes. Move the mouse from time to time to refresh the screen. Again, be patience. -After this first reboot, select in clover the new internal sierra installer partition, not the usb installer. It will finish the process. This step, yes, takes 10min aprox (using a SSD) -To boot again, keep booting from USB but choose internal HD as boot volume. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ PART III: FIRST BOOT 11. Optional updates. If you are interested in install security updates, now is the right moment. If not, jump to next point. There are two security update for 10.12.6 : "2017-002" and "2018-001". Forget completely the 2018-001. It’s probably that it causes KP. ( I tried and I screw up it). You can use this update using versionn 1.2.2 of LILO kext. (version updated in the sutff folder.) You can install the 2017-002. thought it’s not longer available in Apple store. But there is a direct link to download it. Just open it, reboot, wait for the process, and you will be back at the same point. With this update, the Mac OS Version is 16G1114 . Anyway, I repeat it , it's optional. 12- Install Clover. On first reboot, install clover again on HDD, repeating same process and same options than with the USB installer , but keep in mind you have to add some options on clover’s screen install: -Install RC scripts on target volume -Optional RC scripts -Install Clover Preference Panel. … and install clovermanager.app. This is optional but it’s the best way to manage the themes and find a good theme, because the default themes are… well, I have no words. In my folder you´ll find mine (a customized version from El Capitan’s theme). Bootcamp is another theme for those who doesn’t like the clover’s catalogue. And maybe the most appropriate for a professional environment. Of course, left this for later. Install clover and add same files used on the USB: config.plist , hfsplus driver and kexts. Reboot. You can now extract the USB installer and reboot from the internal HDD. After boot, go to clover preference panel and set it to auto mount EFI partition. It will be useful along this process. Disable this when you finish and you get stable your system.

Grazie a chi mi aiuta. Help.
  10. Lenovo Thinkpad L420 macOS Sierra Guide Thanks to the good old mighty Clover Bootloader, we have so much better support for laptops and different alternative hardware. I have made a few HackBook Pros but without a shadow of a doubt this Lenovo L420 is almost a perfect Apple computer. Even better in some aspects if you ask me about it. Lenovo theme on Clover in my L420 I will be quoting a good fellow of the community, tluck , who made an awesome guide for his Lenovo T420, and he also helped me achieve better functionality. Regards to you my friend. I have already written a guide for installing and perfecting Mac OS X El Capitan on this PC, but I wanted to see how good Sierra could run, and OH BOY it is running like a charm. Here are the specs of the machine. In my case I added 8GB of RAM. I understand this is not a highly popular laptop outside corporations, I don’t even know if it was ever sold to the general public, so I guess this post will help me know that hahah anyway a friend of mine gave me two of them, one with i5 another with i3. This tutorial applies to any of those models. It should also apply to older versions of Mac OS X all the way until Snow Leopard (little modifications required as well as appropriate kexts) What is working WiFi , Bluetooth, Airdrop (Wifi replaced with Atheros AR9285) Full QE/CI acceleration with integrated Intel HD3000 graphics Trackpad with 1 finger , 2 finger and 3 finger gestures keyboard as well as function keys (brightness, volume) Battery percentage Sleep, Shutdown and Reboot Sound working on ALC269 mobile DVD Drive DisplayPort audio and video VGA out USB 3.0 ExpressCard (Renesas) iMessage and Facetime Recovery Partition What is not working You tell me 1. Creating the install media The best way to install macOS to our Hackintosh is definitely to create a USB with the latest version of macOS Sierra (10.12.5 as of writing this guide) and to use the createinstallmedia method. For that you will need either a Macintosh computer, an existing Hackintosh or a Virtual Machine running OS X 10.6 or above. This way you will end up with a clean vanilla install , and with a recovery partition capable of booting and capable of using FindMyMac / FindMyiPhone I won’t go into too much details about this since this is one of the first things you should know when attempting to Hackintosh. This procedure is for a new macOS installation using a USB Installer. Download macOS from the App Store - it is freely available One can build a macOS USB installer with the standard macOS installer app downloaded from the "App Store". Download and extract the zip file from this post to build a Clover-based USB installer. This same bundle will be installed later on HD. Install macOS to a GPT formatted disk using the standard Install macOS.app downloaded from the Apple Store. Create a macOS USB installer Partition an 8GB (or larger) USB formatted with GUID Partition Table (GPT) - use the Partition Options... menu to change from MBR to GPT - Name the partition USB - the install process will rename it, but it matches the script below. - Use format: Mac OS Extended (Journaled) (formerly OS X Extended) Note: if you have a larger USB (say 16GB) you can split into 2 8GB partitions, so you can have 10.12 and 10.11 installers on the same USB key Run this command to copy the bits to the USB key: Note: if using an older version of macOS, replace with the corresponding app name. sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/USB --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction 2. Install bootloader (Clover) to install media You should select your USB in the Clover installer and then hit “Customize” Select the next options: Install Clover in the ESP Install boot0ss in MBR Clover EFI 64bits SATA CSMVideoDxe-64 EmuVariableUEFI-64 OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 Fat64 3. Configuring the bootloader After installation is complete, the EFI partition we want to configure will already be mounted, so we proceed to open it and do the following Install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi in drivers64UEFI folder and remove VboxHFS.efi. Because this PC doesn’t have any UEFI you should also install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi to the drivers64 folder. Open the folder /EFI/Clover/kexts and delete all the folders starting by 10 and leave only the “other” folderIn the above mentioned “other” folder. Place the kexts that I will quote next (you can download the ones attached to the post, but I always recommend the latest versions) : ACPIBatteryManager.kext AppleALC.kext CodecCommander.kext FakePCIID_XHCIMux.kext FakePCIID.kext FakeSMC, HWInfo, IntelCPUMonitor (HwSensors3 from Slice) GenericUSBXHCI.kext (only if you use an USB3.0 ExpressCard) RealtekRTL8111.kext USBInjectAll.kext VoodooPS2Controller.kext (tluck's version) L420 kextpack.zip Notes on VoodooPS2 (tluck) VoodooPS2Controller.kext (v1.8.25f) - New custom T420 version of RehabMans's PS2 Keyboad/TouchPad/TrackPoint - This version has extra T420 definitions in the Info.plist files. Tweaks to help with TrackPoint on startup Jakibaki's cut/paste fix for middle button + scrolling fix. if MiddeMouseScroll is set to true scrolling TrackPoint works. Sierra PrefPane integration and other fixes (smoothness and caps-lock) by usr-sse2 (see this post on GitHub) Modified Info.plist(s) to add LENOVO T420 override settings. TrackPad pressure FingerZ value set to 47 - up from default of 30 - change to suite your touch in VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2TrackPad.kext/Contents/Info.plist Various Default overrides such as MouseMultiplier X and Y for TrackPoint. Note: VoodooPS2Controller keyboard mappings have 3 or 4 finger swipe left/right to back/forward configured for Safari browser vs space swipe Optional Key Map: This map works in El Capitan. Since the NX keys are in a state of flux for Sierra - it is disabled by default now. If you would want to use this new map, edit the Info.plist file and rename the T420 key map entry. The F1-F15 key mappings are VoodooPS2Controller.kext/Contents/PlugIns/VoodooPS2Keyboard.kext/Contents/Info.key.plist: F1 - LCD Brightness Down F2 - LCD Brightness Up F3 - Mission Control App Selector F4 - Launchpad F5 - F6 - F7 - Mirror Displays F8 - Disable/Enable TouchPad F9 - F10 - Mute Volume F11 - Volume Down F12 - Volume Up PrtSc - Scan Previous Track ScrLck - iTunes Play/Pause Pause - Scan Next Track Insert - Eject After all the kexts are in the correct folder you should tweak your config.plist as follows, I recommend using a proper plist editor , the best is Xcode. config.plist.zip Lenovo mostly whitelist the Wifi cards on their laptops (and some desktops) so you will have to use a custom BIOS for this. There is one here luckily. If you need me to explain how to flash it then you shouldn’t really be Hackintoshing in the first place. After you have flashed the BIOS make sure you set the SATA controller to AHCI. You should be able to boot from the Clover USB and install Mac OS X Remember to use a GUID partition scheme for the drive you will use. Recovery partition should be generated automatically by the OS X installer. 4. Hopefully you boot and get to install macOS well. Boot Clover from USB Installer and select Install macOS Install the OS on your GPT disk on the macOS partition. Make sure the drive is formatted using: Scheme: GUID Partition Map (GPT) Partition Name: macOS Format: macOS Extended (Journaled) Dual BOOT tip: If you plan to dual boot Windows from the same HD - DO NOT make the 2nd partition NTFS or ExFAT with the Disk Utility app. Make them both "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" Size the 2 partitions appropriately - but later you will delete/reformat the 2nd partition for Windows. Click through GUI Install menus and wait for the installation to fully complete - on a spinning disk takes about 30-45 minutes. Follow these Notes and Tips: When the installer screens shows: "To pair a Bluetooth keyboard, turn it on and wait for your computer to connect to it.” Hit the Space Bar to get past this step. When installer seems to hang at: "About a second remaining” Don’t Panic, this "second" may take about 10 minutes or more to finish. Just wait for the installer to reboot the computer and continue the installation. The whole install process takes about 1 hour to complete. On the first boot from the HD when asked: "How Do You Connect?” Select: “My computer does not connect to the Internet” You can set up the network later after installation of the NIC driver kext. Your Intel WiFi will not work. Period. 5. Next you have to install the boot loader to the HDD You should select your USB in the Clover installer and then hit “Customize” Select the next options: Install Clover in the ESP Install boot0ss in MBR Clover EFI 64bits SATA CSMVideoDxe-64 EmuVariableUEFI-64 OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 Fat64 Install all RC scripts to target partition After installation is complete, the EFI partition we want to configure will already be mounted, so we proceed to open it and do the following Again we install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi in drivers64UEFI folder and remove VboxHFS.efi. Because this PC doesn’t have any UEFI you should also install HFSPlus.efi and NTFS.efi to the drivers64 folder. Also copy your ACPI files and config.plist at the right places. 6. In order to get everything working properly , follow these guidelines for ACPI tables patching. Firstly, press F4 at Clover GUI in order to dump the native ACPI tables. You will most probably get a crash, a red screen full of weird black numbers and strange symbols, do not worry, just force shutdown. At the next boot if you look in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin you should have a bunch of files. After getting MaciASL and acpica tools from RehabMan (always updated) and installing them, and adding rehabman’s laptop dsdt patch repository, which is this: https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch Delete all files except DSDT, SSDT-0 and SSDT-1 in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/origin You should decompile the DSDT , SSDT-0 and SSDT-1 using the following commands (make sure you create a .txt document containing the following external references and place it in the same place where the ACPI files are) External(MDBG, MethodObj, 1)External(_GPE.MMTB, MethodObj, 0)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECWT, MethodObj, 2)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECRD, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.LPCB.H_EC.ECMD, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.PEG0.PEGP.SGPO, MethodObj, 2)External(_SB.PCI0.GFX0.DD02._BCM, MethodObj, 1)External(_SB.PCI0.SAT0.SDSM, MethodObj, 4)External(_GPE.VHOV, MethodObj, 3)External(_SB.PCI0.XHC.RHUB.TPLD, MethodObj, 2) Then do: cd /path/to/your/filesiasl -da -dl -fe refs.txt *.aml After obtaining the .dsl files you should open them and check for errors. The only error you will find will be in one of the SSDTs and it can be fixed using the Remove _PSS placeholders patch to fix that SSDT that only contains info about the CPU and is full of “Package (0x06)” When your files are nice and clean and in .dsl format you can happily apply the following patches to DSDT Use the patch “Rename GFX0 to IGPU” Use the patch “Rename B0D3 to HDAU” Use the patch "DTGP" (easy to find with our buddy Google) Use the patch "Fix _WAK Arg0 v2" Use the patch "HPET Fix" Use the patch "SMBUS Fix" Use the patch "IRQ Fix" Use the patch "RTC Fix" Use the patch "OS Check Fix" Use the patch "Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel" Use the patch "Add IMEI" Use the patch “6 Series USB” Use the patch "USB PRW 0x6D" Use the patch "Audio Layout id 3" Use the patch "L420 battery patch" For Brightness keys (Q14 and Q15 in DSDT) In Method _Q14 add at the end: Notify (PS2K, 0x0206)Notify (PS2K, 0x0286) In Method _Q15 add at the end: Notify (PS2K, 0x0205)Notify (PS2K, 0x0285) If you are lost with ACPI here is how you should place the code: Little bonus, since the ThinkVantage key does absolutely nothing, I patched the DSDT so that when you hit that key, the fans will remain at 100% speed all the time. Hit it again and they go back to auto mode Cool Right? Replace your _Q19 method with this (credits to tluck) Method (_Q19, 0, NotSerialized) // _Qxx: EC Query { Name (FANS, One) Store (HFSP, FANS) XOr (FANS, 0x80, Local0) If (Local0) { Store (0x80, HFSP) } Else { Store (0x07, HFSP) } } After all the ACPI tables are properly patched save them all and compile your tables cd /path/to/patched/tablesiasl *.dsl After getting the resulting patched aml files, place them in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched for Clover to load itFinally you will need to generate an SSDT using ssdtPRGen.sh Note: - If you want working brightness in Sierra make sure to download my ACPI files pack and use the provided SSDT-PNLF - Also if you use Atheros AR9285 like me you can use the attached SSDT-2 and see if it works, otherwise provide here your DSDT 7. After you have your DSDT, SSDT-0, SSDT-1 and SSDT (the one generated by the script) , along with SSDT-PNLF and SSDT-2 if you need them, place them all together in /EFI/Clover/ACPI/patched and in the ACPI section of your config.plist make sure to "Drop OEM" tables and set the "Sorted Order" Overall I would say this laptop is quite perfect for a Hackintosh , I use it for a few months and I love it, hope you do too. This Hack is functioning almost 100% in Mac OS X and certainly it performs so much better than in Windows Enjoy our fully functional Hack General Notes and Random Fixes The stock Intel WiFi will not work. The common approach is use a modded BIOS and replace the WiFi with a Broadcom or Atheros chip (I went for AR9285). Enable (turn on) Bluetooth so the green light is showing on the LCD bezel (do from Windows or Ubuntu). Also make sure the side switch is set to green too! When using external headphones or speakers, may need to plug and unplug 1 or 2 times for recognition. iMessage/Facetime may not register without overriding the Clover generated values with real ROM and MLB values from a real Apple Mac. Search thread for ROM to get more info. Clover can possibly generate proper values and inject using RtVariables - use mac address -- see wiki for details. Hibernation - Use OsxAptioFix2Drv-64.efi instead of OsxAptioFixDrv-64.efi UEFI driver for restart from hibernation. Suggested settings if you don't want or use hibernation: sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0 rm /var/vm/sleepimage if you want hibernation, then set hibernate mode to 7 (mode 7 is like mode 3 but without encryption) - may need to manually edit this value into the plist file now. sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 7 Note: Booting up from the hibernated image may have jumbled or blank LCD until you do a sleep/wake cycle to reset the LCD. Add boot option darkwake=0 if you would like to disable power nap and have the lid wake the gfx instead of hitting extra key. TrackPoint may not be responsive on startup (random occurance) - a sleep/wake cycle should revive it. Here are my patched tables if you need them L420 patched ACPI Sierra.zip

  13. Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and I'm a little lost ... I am looking for a shopping guide (a bit like tonymac which is very good, I come here because of an ethical problem of tonymacs http://goo.gl/WdPxAy). I currently have a machine with the following config: CPU i5-4570 Mb Asus H87M-PLUS RAM 16GB Kingstone HyperX Blue SSD Intel 128GB GPU Gainware Nvidia GTX 650 Ti It works pretty well apart few random crashes ... It was installed with *beast tools... I manually installed and configured clover and I want to make a new machine with a clean and much more advanced installation. I wanted a multibooting to Win10 Pro and Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3 (in preference but it can be Sierra 10.12 for stability) I started looking at material: CPU i7-7700K Mb Gigabyte Aorus GA-Z270X-GAMING K5 / Gigabyte GA-Z270N-WIFI / Gigabyte GA-B250M-D3H / Gigabyte GA-H270M-DS3H RAM HyperX Fury Noir 16 Go (2x 8Go) DDR4 2133 MHz CL14 SSD Samsung 840 EVO 256GB Sata III GPU Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1050 OC Low Profile 2G What do you think about this ?

  15. Hi guys. My first post here. I have trouble getting my Intel HD 5500 QE/CI to work. I've changed my DVMT setting to 64 and 96MB, but every time I try to boot, the graphics injection works fine but it freezes/hangs after that. If I delete AppleIntelBDWGraphics.kext it does boot and shows me correct VRAM info and brightness control. The laptop in question is an HP 250 G5 with an i3 5005U, HD 5500 and 8GB DDR3 RAM. I have tried all ig-platform-id's and Clover patches. Does this sound like a hardware/incompatibility issue? If you need more info let me know. Thanks in advance.

  19. Hi, I am gonna to buy wifi card, since my Dell M660 does not have supported card. If there is list of supported cards please give link to that. Thanks
  20. Introduction This is a step-by-step guide for installing macOS Sierra 10.12.x on ASRock H170M-ITX/ac utilizing the onboard Intel HD530 GPU. Sorry for not elaborating like you’re reading a novel of some sort, but I think this is for your own benefit. Here are the details of my personal build: - ASRock H170M-ITX/ac (BIOS v7.00) - Core i3-6100 @ 3.7GHz - 16GB RAM @ 2133MHz - Onboard HD530 via HDMI - Mini PCIe BCM94352HMB Wifi+BT My experience with this system after 4 - 5 months of daily development usage (Xcode, Web etc.) is this: It's most definitely a very stable system if you don't mind the well known Hackintosh plague, which is the absence of Sleep functionality. Highly recommended. Prerequisites - Maccie, a working Macintosh or Hackintosh computer, or even a macOS VM on Windows. - Hackie, your to-be Hackintosh computer. - Installie, a USB disk with capacity of 16GB or more. Create the Install Disk A) Download Install macOS Sierra.app from the AppStore on Maccie. Insert a USB disk on Maccie and open Disk Utility. Select your USB disk, select Erase, add Installie as its name and press Erase. C) Run the following command from Terminal: sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Installie --applicationpath /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app --nointeraction D) Once more, rename your USB disk to Installie and execute Clover_v2.4k_r4049.pkg. Select Installie USB disk as target, then proceed to the customization step. E) Select nothing but Install for UEFI booting only, Install Clover in the ESP, and OsxAptioFix2Drv-64 from Drivers64UEFI menu. F) Installie's EFI partition is now mounted. Overwrite EFI/CLOVER/config.plist with the config.plist file attached to this post. G) Copy all attached kexts to EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other, copy SSDT-2.aml to EFI/CLOVER/ACPI/patched. OS X Installation H) Your Installie USB disk is now ready, plug it in on Hackie. I) Press Del key to enter Hackie’s BIOS. On the Exit menu, execute Load UEFI Defaults, then enable XHCI Handoff. J) On Boot menu, set your first boot device to UEFI: BrandName XYZ, Partition 1. Save everything and exit. K) On Clover menu, select the macOS Installer entry, and after a couple of minutes you should be in the macOS Sierra installer. L) Open Disk Utility, and format Hackie's internal HDD or SDD just like on step B, but this time name it Macintosh HD. M) Continue with the installation on Macintosh HD until Hackie is restarted. Then, the second part of the installation will continue. N) On the last restart, this time boot from your newly created Macintosh HD. Finalize O) With some luck you should be now customizing your Hackie's first run. P) Repeat steps D, E, F, G but this time make sure you apply everything on Macintosh HD. Q) Remove Installie from USB port, and restart Hackie. R) The end. Extra Points S) If you own a SSD, paste the following on Terminal in order to enable TRIM support: sudo trimforce enable T) Replace VBoxHfs-64.efi with HFSPlus-64.efi in drivers64UEFI. It's proprietary, but it's faster. Notes - You should replace the default Intel Wifi+BT Mini PCIe card with the BCM94352HMB or something equally compatible. - Sleep does not work yet (see post #2 for output). - Keep in mind that this is a WIP, any input from you will be much appreciated. - Make sure to mention the lettering of the step in question and the description of your problem using as much detail as possible. 23. Hi there. I'm new to this site but not totally new to hack. I've had a hack since 10.4 and the latest version I ran was 10.9, not totally fixed but it worked to what I needed. Now I want to make the machine run as good as it can. I can see there has been a lot of changes/upgrades/new solutions since I installed my hack and I have a hard time to catch up. I've been able to boot and install macOSX and now I need the POST installation. I tried to install the clover EFI boot loader with these settings: and found the DSDT.aml and SSDT-0.aml from HERE found the apfs.efi and placed it in EFI -> EFI -> CLOVER -> driver64 and these kext in here: But when I boot it up this is the first bootscreen I have. No partions, no mouse control, no nothing. if I exit clover this screen appear. and now everything works. What is wrong? Cheers Soren
