jcruzlara
One question I get the whole key thing but I have one question. How do you compile this? I have Xcode but I don't know what to do. What file do i open? What buttons do I press. and another quick question does this work in Intel sse2?
EtherealRemnant
you don't use XCode. Go to the sources folder in the terminal as root and type: make ARCH_CONFIGS=I386 KERNEL_CONFIGS=RELEASE install
jcruzlara
OK I get a bunch of command not founds. I cd'ed to the desktop and into the folder xnu... and then copied and pasted the command you gave me what am I doing wrong?
EtherealRemnant
You really shouldn't be posting that, its copyrighted information and we're talking about a thread that is in regards to building a legal kernel. Inserting the TPM code would render it an illegal kernel and you could be jeopardizing this site by posting such things. OK I get a bunch of command not founds. I cd'ed to the desktop and into the folder xnu... and then copied and pasted the command you gave me what am I doing wrong? Templeton Peck
Check your Karma in the latest Maxxuss Kernel at Hex $002d0600 My wise words: static const char magicpoem[]={"My Karma seems to be fine\nThere's no need for a second line.\n © Elppa."}; Good luck! .gk Thank you very much!! BTW, why are ppl converting to hex when the compiler does that already? Or will that add a terminating byte? Naw, I think I'll play it safe. Thanks again. MichalK
Bikedude, I cant test it, but I compared the key with the one in maxxuss' kernel. It is absolutely the same. 256 byte. But caution, the forum changes the © sign in the posts. It must be ( C ) without the spaces, or it will not work. OSX86Geek, shouldn't be there three spaces before the "( C ) Elppa"??? tyre777
oh well still we need the decrypted 10.4.8 files to get this to work... i guess its better we wait for the devs...
OSX86Geek
OSX86Geek, shouldn't be there three spaces before the "( C ) Elppa"??? exactly. There are three spaces hex 20 before the ( My poem is just showing the format of the string, as a lot of ppl didn't know how to handle the multiple lines. vaderd
Thanks for all your help, I think I got the poem right. I do have the "crashdump coreservicesd" though on GUI boot like some others here. Takuro
Ok I compiled the Semthex kernel without any tinkering. I just added the "magic poem" and compiled in Terminal. I installed the 10.4.8 Apple combo update, replaced the kernel, and rebooted. (I did absolutely nothing more than that. I saw instructions to replace AppleSMBios.kext for the Vitality kernel, but I didn't see such instructions for the Semthex kernel. So I left the stock 10.4.8 AppleSMBios.kext intact. If this is the probable issue, please tell me!) When I rebooted, it got pretty far, but then I got this message "(something wierd)... We'll try again later.) And it repeated over and over... When I boot with -x or -s, the kernel fails and I reboot. If I boot without any additional flags, or with just -v, it loops at that same strange error. In vmware, I can't even boot regularly. The kernel flops. I can't get into darwin to delete the kernel because the whole thing crashes. Any ideas?
nixblicker
@semthex: Are planning on integrating a SS3-emulator like we have in the 10.4.4 maxxuss-kernel!?!? Because I think there are a lot SS2-only people out there!
