This can be a problem to 'develop' a kernel for the new Cat?

I don't udnerstand your question, can you please explain? If you mean the removed sources? It was discovered yesterday by my cool IRC ppl and I posted it on my blog. Lol, it was amazing since the story got digged today.

Hi all,

Now that some people are getting 10.4.8 into their rigs and some people are getting xbench scores -

I'm curious what the highest is so far (while we're all waiting for our 'seeds' to grow). I just read a Slashdot article (http://hardware.slashdot.org/article.pl?si...37&from=rss) about a guy that just got a new MB Pro with a 2.33GHz C2D, and on his site (http://lartren.com.nyud.net:8080/mac/) - he posts his XBENCH Results of 142.72 :compress:

(BTW, this site takes a bit of time to load, due to the /. effect)

Anyone get higher yet?

Cheers to all who have labored and contributed to a more informed society!

@rajkosto: NForce is hpet less as fas as I know. The NX bit is off by default in the sources but atm it'S abad idea to try use AMD since of serveral buggy parts with AMD.

@nixblicker: Yeah we are already working on that.

so are people running nVidia drivers now, or something?

why are xbench scores going way up? is this just a performance enhancement that we're seeing from 10.4.4 kernel to 10.4.8 like any ordinary system update on a real mac?

and can someone explain this "pro" apps thing? is this a feature that is only enabled when using 10.4.7 kernel and higher or something? what designates an application as "pro"

annnnnnnnnnd.... AMD love, please :D

- Final Cut Pro 5. - Native HDV. Now editing in real time.

- Soundtrack Pro. - Sound is half the picture.

- Motion 2. - Advanced animation. Instant gratification.

- DVD Studio Pro 4. - Encode. Author. Burn. Deliver.

- Compressor 2. - Making digital duplication and content delivery a breeze.

Aperture. - Designed for professional photographers.

Logic Pro. - Comprehensive music toolkit.

Shake. - Advanced digital compositing. Already in a theater near you.

bikedude and abberacuss: what kernel is that? is it sse2 or sse3? mifki or semthex?

That is SSE3 semthex kernel. Mifki's got a 141.41 (no joke) on the same exact setup.

Mifki's kernel:

@rajkosto: NForce is hpet less as fas as I know.
No nF4 has HPET, like many South Bridges dated by 2004 and later, but on some boards it doesn't want to work properly.

bikedude880 You have different results, cause semthex use RTC timer, and mifki - HPET.

No this isnt an sse2 kernel thread there arent right now WORKING sse2 kernels (10.4.8),

@bikedude880 Ok about my system its running over Vitaly/Mifki kernel

I can see the diferences between your xbench and mine, your HD speed are awesome can you describe your HD setting?

cause an any other area my scors are better (as they should be, im using conroe..)

that good testing changing semthex and vitalyty kernels to test speed diferences.
