I have Asus R9 290x. In 10.11 dp2 work natively, without any patching.

Glad to know that because I am using 10.11 DP2 too.

Can you show me your config.plist if you boot by Clover or org.chameleon.Boot.plist if boot by Chameleon ?

Because this Asus 290X worked natively in 10.10.4, however no such luck in 10.11 DP2 now.

What really bothers me is in System Preference and About This Mac/Display there is HDMI display from AMD R9 290X card,

but actually it shows blank screen in HDMI monitor.

Hope it's not due to hardware problem in this card like over-heating, inadequate power supply, etc.

Immediately reboot to 10.10.4 resumed everything is working again !

The first one shows working in 10.10.4.

Anyone had the similar experience for AMD R9 290X card in 10.11 DP1 or DP2 ?

Well I'm glad some 290X are working fine without patching, because the Sapphire 290X 8Gb requires a Framebuffer and connector patch for it to work with multi monitors

your 30-bit color is confusing. It says ARGB (Alpha Red Green Blue) 2101010 (2 10 10 10) that equals 32, not 30. Plus, if it's 30 then you have no Alpha channel (no transparency) and if it's 32, you only have a 2-bit alpha channel. Odd

Thanks for your comment.

The working one in 10.10.4 was attached here:

Got some progress now after booting with GraphicsEnable=N and disable Intel HD4600 in BIOS

Almost normal display from 290X now but still suffered from 30-bitARGB(2101010) instead of 32-bitARGB(8888) in 10.10.4.

If I reduced screen resolution from 2560x1440x32 (HDMI 2.0) to 1920x1080x32, it will show normal 32-bitARGB(8888) in 10.11 DP2.

My primary display is Intel HD4600 and AMD 290X is the secondary display.

Boot by Clover I can get 4 monitors at the same time while 3 from AMD 290X shown in my post #210 here.

If boot by Chameleon I can get only 2 monitors at the same time that means only one HDMI dispaly from AMD 290X and the other one from Intel HD4600.

But when 280x is primary the performance of 290x is worse and GPUs is more heat.

Whet 290x is primary everything is faster, cooler, and quieter (y)

Hey, I'm new in the forum sorry if i'm asking a stupid question but,

Has anyone succeded on booting OS X El Capitan DP1 with an Intel HD Graphics 4000? I'm having this problem since Yosemite although everything works fine using Chameleon with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, but never seemed to work properly with Clover, the screen goes black when it boots. I've never used Clover before, but I suppose Intel HD Graphics 4000 should be natively supported by OS X, and i've never had a problem using it with Chameleon. I'm using a simple laptop with an i3 3217U Ivy Brigde chipset. Also, is Chameleon booting El Capitan yet?

In my Asus Z87 Deluxe/Dual MB :

When 290X is the primary and only display the test score in LuxMark is about 1% higher (3001 vs. 2966) than 290X is the secondary display.

I would say there is no significant difference for OpenCL performance by LuxMark 2.1.

Regarding OpenGL bench test by CineBench R15 the difference was increased (117.14 fps vs. 110.34 fps) to 5~6 %.

1. El Capitan 10.11 DP1/DP2 can be booted by Chameleon (Enoch v.2725) at http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/files/file/71-enoch/

2. Both Clover and Chameleon need correct DSDT.aml in which support Intel HD 4000 & patched AppleHDA.kext.

in Asus Z77 with Intel HD4000 both methods are working for me.

3. Rollback to 10.10.3's AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext and AppleHDA.kext are required in my Asus Z77 MB.

My attempt to install El Capitan failed on the Clover side. What should I click in the Clover installer or this rig:

Asus P5Q Deluxe

Intel Q6600

Nvidia GTX 275

SATA HDD

Please try my config.plist.

Replaced P5Q01.aml by your DSDT.aml for fully compatibility.

I'm sick enough !!

It is the 4th installation and whenever it happens !!!

@Bruxo, maybe your HDD is in end of life. You can try check and repair the system preferences via Penboot.

And do a check with another software for make sure, if the problem really are your HDD.

In Asus Z77 MB with Intel HD 4000 & Nvidia GTX780:

Need replaced by 10.10.3's AppleIntelFramebufferCapri.kext (10.6.20) & patched AppleHDA.kext (267.0) from Mirone (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/298663-applehda-for-yosemite/)

Then both Intel HD4000 and GTX 780 (including HDMI audio) display and ALC-898 sound are working now.

Both bootloader (Chameleon & Clover) booted successfully.

Thanks for those contributed here !

Recently I found a better way to install 10.11DP1 or DP2 in Asus Z77 MB with Intel HD4000 & Nvidia GTX 780:

At first disable Intel HD4000 display in BIOS

then boot by Chameleon with display by Nvidia GTX780

patching AppleHDA.kext by Toleda's command 110_v1.0c

reboot  after enabled Intel HD4000 in BIOS

then everything for ALC-898 and HDMI audios from Intel HD4000 & GTX 780 are working now.

No need to rollback of AppleHDA or AppleIntelFramebufferCapri !

This method also worked for upgrade from 10.10.3 to 10.10.4 !

Post your config.plist. I'd like to see it because I have the same CPU and GPU and for sure I had almost to none problems with it. :)

HD is good working perfectly with Yosemite
but when installing El Captan he always is malfunctioning after system reboot
If foce the Pentium processor Haswell then give KP
I do not know what the defect after installation, it always happens indefinitely what the HD partitions or other drives
