Hi...

I also have a problem with the 3.6 installer

I installed 10.4.8 and put in an ATI x1600 Pro and installed 3.5 and no problems! Everything worked except

DVI. I then saw the 3.6 installer on Neopheus's website and installed that. Machine booted untill the blue screen with starting OSX and the blue bar goes until the end and it just hangs there. I then booted into single user mode and ran the uninstallscript and rebooted and have the same problem.

 

Anybody help with this??

I have same problem...

What advised to install 3,4 or 3.5? There are differences with the 3,6

that use aty_carretta etc...

I hope it didn't make too much problems for you!

I'm working hard on 3.7 this time... I cannot find the problem!

If you want to help me then please go to the Terminal and type this:

sudo -s
*password*
/usr/sbin/system_profiler | grep -A 10 "Graphics/Display" | grep Device | cut -c 20-22

And post the result here...

Its all good work!! If it wasnt for you..we would never have gooten this far with our ATI cards!!

I did both the manual method and the installer method, and both times, upon restart after the apple logo, the screen goes black. i dont know if it's because im on a laptop and maybe VGA output is fine, but seens as i dont have a monitor, it doesnt matter anyways. can anyone help?

I really think this would be an awesome accomplishment. If anybody needs $funds$ to get themselves an ATI card, set up a place...I'd even donate a bit.

My system won't boot. It hangs at the blue screen. I have 10.4.8 installed w/ Sapphire X1600pro 256mb pci-e.

 

I installed 3.2 (in retrospect, guess I should've done 3.6) - anyways, I boot into single user mode, but when I run ./deinstallscript I get permission denied. Any ideas?

 

(When I run /sbin/fsck -fy it checks out ok, then I run /sbin/mount -uw / but it doesn't seem to do anything)

Guys,

 

I dont find the string to change it!

 

I followed the tutorial do make my 1600xt work; bute I dont find the string to change it.

 

In the Terminal, the only `strange` string is:

 

<string>????</string>

 

It`s the one to change it? How can I edit the file?

When I tried to unistall 3.2 following the instructions, the first two steps go fine:

 

/sbin/fsck -fy

/sbin/mount -uw /

 

When I type the third step:

 

./deinstallscript

 

I get:

 

-sh ./deinstallscript: Permission denied

 

Can someone help me uninstall this?
