iVoyou
Hey, So I haven't been on this thread for a while due to school starting....anybody found a way to make rev. 3 of the ASUS X1600 Silent work? I tried to install it via the Neophus (sp?) auto installer on 10.4.8 but no luck for DVI. DVI is what I need since I have a 23" Cinema. I also just got an ADD2 card...but still no luck with that yet. Thanks, Andrew

Pildor
Greetings, I just installed an ATi X1800XT 256MB PCIe graphics card into my Intel 915PBL system; I used the ATIX1x00 Installer. My resolution is 1920 x 1200! However,I am not able to get the CI/QE to be supported. Do I need to enable something in the ATINDRV.kext file? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! DrivinWest
I've got my x1800XL workng with 3.2 (I haven't tried a higher version) but... Does anybody know how to modify my resolution settings to something that isn't in the list of available resolutions after the NeoPheus install? I've got a 16:9 screen that works at 1024x768 (4:3) but anything higher in the vertical is out of range. I'm hoping to go 1365x768. Any help is much appreciated! guilliamo
I'm seeing MANY more kernel panics with 10.4.8 & 8.8.1 (DaemonES Kernel) than when using the 8.4.1 kernel. In particular, any attempt to run either SwitchRes OR DisplayConfigX will ALWAYS result in a kernel panic. Are others seeing this behavior ? marcian
I only get Blue (&Black) vertical stripes after installing the Neopheus 3.6-Installer on my 10.4.8 System. The NatitAutodetect leads to the same result. Is this due to my X1650Pro card only having DVI-Out (Dual DVI). I don't have my VGA-Adapter here (it's at home like 200miles away from here).?? Editing the Atiradeonx1000.kext and the Atiradeonx1000ga.plugin (first post), gives me QE/Ci but Mouse-Tearing. ATINDRV.kext doesnt have the two lines that need to be changed... bottleNeckKiller
marcian, I have x1600pro and I have got it working by following this instruction. I do not know if this will work on your x1650pro. You could give it a try. This link links to a page that links to the instruction. I just followed VasH instruction. TorqueX86
I'm very happy with the support of my x1800, but is there any way at all to avoid the fan to be only and exclusively on the slowest settings? It's supposed to spin faster when the gpu is under stress, isnt it? My system tends to crash because of that... Any advice?

musket
Hello, i just did this method on a HIS X1600 PRO 256 MB video card... I restarted and i'm getting lots of new resolutions but still no QE/CI/Open GL support. Any ideas? The video card is AGP interface. I did try the installer, but it did not seem to work. I am using 10.4.6 on a intel P4 cpu. I saw on the download page for the intsaller somthing about 8.8.1 kernel with AGP support, does this mean i need 8.8.1? And by the way...what is kernel 8.8.1? a new driver? new system? Thanks, musk

BarryBar
The last couple of days were frustrating since I have applied the patch tot make a Sapphire x1950 pro to work. With no success. Everytime it results in a kernel panic. Does anybody know what would be the likely cause of this. Is the binary part of the kext not up to date? And if so will the Ati kexts from Leopard give more chance success? I like the x1950 pro. It would be a pity to have to sell it because there is no qi and ci possible with it. Resolutions can be changes since the ATINDRV does load. The one from the JaS DVD that is. Thanx in advance for any help and answers
