  1. Update to 10.4.10

PCWIZ why don't you use the disc utilty or get your hands on Carbon Copy Cloner http://software.bombich.com/ccc.htm
  2. booting error

More info needed to answer your question. What hardware configuration are you trying to run on? AMD or Intel Processor Speed Video Card (Onboard or separate unit) If installing on Laptop, we aslo need laptop hardware specs detailing the info above.

    Xosx86, You Rock!
  4. Belkin F5D5000 network question

It's a PCI card. Install it, plug the ethernet card in and try to surf. If still can't surf run the "Assist me" under Network preferences.
  5. Guys, Patience is a virtue. It was just released two days ago. Wait for it to propogate. It will take a few days. BTW, Upchuck why do you make the file a .cdr and not an iso? And can I just rename the extension? Thanks for all the hard work on this baby.

  7. Greggh, I don't know what else I can do for you. Try one more thing. Get a hold og Paulicats AppleSMBIOS.kext (backup your current one), install it, repair and see if that works. If not them I don't knwo what could be causing your problem. Sorry but at least I tried. God Luck. BTW, DId you say you're running an AMD rig? If so, then that might be the cause. AMD's sometime need more work than the Intel rigs. Ask an AMD person. I thnk SABR runs AMD.
  8. Greggh, Jas just told me all you really need to replace is the following files: 4.8 ATI* kexts and the 4.7 atindrv.kext (Already in 10.4.8 freshh install). No IOPCCardFamily.kext needed.
  9. Greggh, I figured it out. You need to copy over all of the ATI* files including the ATINDRV.kext file from 10.4.8 install. You also want to copy over the IOPCCardFamily.kext. Repair permissions and reboot. Upon reboot Open up System Preferences-->Displays and you will see all the available resolutions. BTW, I want to thanks all those who tried to help us. None of the suggestions given helped with our dilema. I was able to figure it out by comparing all new files after the upgrade. I also got a lot of help from m41k on irc.osx86.hu room #1049. Thank you m41k.
  10. Guys, no longer have CI or QE working -------> I no longer have this issue. I replaced all of the ATI*.kexts files with the 10.4.8 versions. DVD player is also now working but I still have the same problem as greggh. I cant change my resolution from 1024x768. Is anyone out there that can help us. Boris, Jas, semthex, video cards/kexts gurus. Please answer our plee.
  11. I no longer have CI or QE working...

I wa told to do the same thing on IRC. That worked for the CI and QE but I still cannot change my resolution. Only avialable resoluton is 1024 x 768. Do you know which kext controls that?
  12. I no longer have CI or QE working...

I don't think that's the case. Emacs use 1600 based video and others here have the same card. Borisbadinov, where are you when i need you?

  15. Guys, I ended up returning the Sony VAIO® 15.4” Widescreen Notebook PC (VGN-N130G/W). It had bad memory issues. They didn't have anymore in stock. I will have to wait and see if I get lucky with one of these again. The price has gone back up to $999.00 and I don't plan on paying that much for this laptop especially after finding out how {censored} the speakers are.
