Has anyone been able to get a PCI express mobility laptop ATI card to work?

 

(X300 or X600?)

Yes i have my X700 PCI Express Mobility running QE+CI on my Acer 4101 WLMI ;), used Koverg 0.2 script and 10.4.6 to get it running :superman:

HELP ME!

Acer Aspire 1692WLMi with ATI X700 (0x5653)

Myzar 10.4.4-5

 

I installed Koverg patch, after reboot QE/CI active

but resolution still 1024x768

So

I installed Callisto006, on system profiler my QE/CI are disabled. Then I can enable 1280x800 but these horrible horizontal lines are killing me.

Please, HELP! Sorry for my English!! Please...please!!!...please!

1- Follow Koverg README

2- For edit /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700.kext/Contents/Info.plist use:

In a Terminal

sudo nano -w /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeon9700.kext/Contents/Info.plist

then Ctrl + O to save the changes AND Ctrl + X to Exit

3- Remove kextcache

sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.kextcache

kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

4- put your desire Res at "com.apple.Boot.plist" is not posible select at System Preferences

5- Repair disk permissions with Disk Utility

6- Finally reboot

 

I have some mouse arteffacs with my PS2 Mouse. Trying fix it now !!!

 

Now I´m Play "Hidden Dragon, cruching Tiger" DVD at full display very well

 

That is !!

I did:

My laptop (hp nx8220):

Ati Radeon Mobility X600 PCI-E (0x3150)

Running on JaS 1.4.7

 

Using koverg patch i get QE/CI but im unable to change resolution (stuck at 1024x768), and i work on laptop with native 1280x800... cant work on that :(

 

But, when i use callisto3 fixed (5,6,8 dont work for me) i can change resolution, but no QE/CI, and that can be slowwww :(

 

I also tried z0rz's script, but no luck :(

 

 

So ... is there any driver that can change resolution and enable QE/CI on my x600 ?

EDIT: it DOES work! soon i'll post more.

 

Tried everything with my Sapphire X800 GTO (id: 5d4f core:R480) , and now i'm absolutely sure it doesn't work.

Using it since 10.4.5, 10.4.6 and now 10.4.8 with semthex's 8.8.1

 

Results:

Callisto 006 & 008: resolution and refresh rate change ok.

Manual kext patching / Koverg: obviously to get QE/CI, doesn't work. Spent countless hours trying. :)

 

So i'm pretty sure you can add X800GTO (and X850XT PE) with id 5D4F to non-working cards.

My only hope for the future is a Titan / Natit support for R480 cores..

Mhhh... I'm a lucky owner of a Hackintosh 10.4.6 since 6 Hours and are pretty mad about the Screenresolution. I got a 17" Widescreen and everthing is so squezed actual.

 

I got a X700 Mobility (like some guys before I read) with the ID: 0x5653

 

I tryed your patch but get the error:

I've the same probleme than you ...

Can you test to see if OPENGL work for you ?

Opengl Is working in my case

Hey everybody, you won`t believe me but a miracle has just happend!! :thumbsup_anim:

 

1440x900x32 60Hz QE/CI SUPPORTED! (only some mouse artifacts)

I don`t know how I`ve done it but it`s absolutely incredible!! As soon as I get ouf of the psychic shock I`ll be able to post more about my success :thumbsup_anim: Have a good day!

Well, I really don't know exactly how I made it. But I'm sure that first I installed Koverg Patch ATI 9700. Resolution 1024x768, QE/CI works. Then I installed "ATIScript" (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=30084&hl=ATIScript) with options "cal8 0x0x0 1 1". Resolution 1440x900, QE/CI doesn't work. Lastly, I installed again Koverg Patch ATI 9700 and everything works.

 

So it's maybe affected by the order.

Badly I can't get my machine work with Callisto + Koverg...

My system:

JaS 10.4.6 + JaS 10.4.8 Updater

Abit AN8 Ultra

A64 3000+ 939 SSE3

Sapphire X700 128MB (0x5e4d1002)

Callisto 003 005 006 008 all tried

Koverg 0.2 Patch

 

Whenever I tried to use the patched ATIRadeon9700.kext with CallistoFB, the gui seems to be initializing, but it halts and the mouse cursor does not move.

 

What I've done:

Install OSX 10.4.6 (of course)

Apply 10.4.8 updater

Install Callisto 008. modify the file as it instructed. Clear kext cache.

Reboot. The system detected the card correctly (X700 PCIe 128MB), with correct resolution 1280x1024x32, but no QE/CI.

Then, apply Koverg patch with my hardware ID (patch9700.sh 5e 4d).

Modify the info.plist in ATIRadeon9700.kext with my hardware ID (0x5e4d1002).

Clear kext cache. Reboot. Nothings happen.

Then, modify the ATIRadeon9700GA.kext as Callisto mentioned. Change the framebuffer to CallistoFB. Clear kext cache. Reboot.

And then the next boot fails with GUI not initialized. The screen were messed up and I cannot see any kernal panic message.

 

See if anybody can gimme some suggestion on this. Many thanks.

5e4b as in the example, ati x700 pro 128mb.

 

But mouse... I've tried the Mouseposé 2, nothing changed. I'm about deleting that hext. Still no more sollutions? It's really strange. :-(

 

And I'd like to ask, is it prinsipally to patch the 9700.kext? There are some more ati kexsts in extention folder.
