Sorry, I'm a Mac noob.

I tried all the guides here but still to no avail on making my ATI Radeon x700 256mb Device id : 5E4D

My native resolution is 1440x900 or at least get it to 1280x768 or something higher than 1024x768.

Whenever I install ATIScript.z0rz.v0.2.zip and Callisto. It would work until I try to change resolution which gives me a black screen.

Hope you guys can help me. Thanks. I'm running iATKOS v2.0i Mac OS X 10.5.2.

Specs

Intel Pentium D 3.20 GHz

Asus P5LD2 Deluxe

Hitachi 750GB SATA II

2GB DDR2 Memory

Hey all i've tryed a lot of ATIRadeon9700.kext builds...

I've found a "working" but UNSTABLE solution for OS Leo 10.5.5, using 10.5 BETA i386 build

There is a callisto patch for Acer 5020 LCD Panel dotclock bundled into.

I hope some one can help to make it "stable"

PS:

may be you need to boot with "-s" and manually load the kext using:

kextload -t ATIRadeon9700.kext

Info:

10.5.5

Turion 64 ml34

using speedstepkernel from kabyl

X700 128MB 0x1002 0x5653 with fixed dotclock on callisto

download link:

Download 10.5 beta patched ATIRadeon9700 for X700

Thank you

Hey Members,

is there anything new about coming along with the ATI Radeon X700 (x5653)?

QE/CI work great on 10.4.11. But changing the resolution doesnt.

I've installed the koverg patch 0.2. So, QE and CI work. I've tried to change the resolution by editing the com.apple.boot.list but this also didn't work. Than I tried to enter it in the Darwin Boot-Selector also without success. I can't change the resolution in the System Preferences and using the Tool SwitchResX also didn't work.

I've tried also the Callisto driver. There I can change the resolution, but than I've got flickering horizontal lines.

I've read all the 45 sites off this topic. It seems, there is no solution, to get a resolution off 1280x800, isnt it?

Thanks for your advice in advance!

Hi there. I just decided to try your patch because I couldn't get OpenGL working right, but now i can't get CI or QE either.

I previously followed flashGX's guide and did get to the same stage as himself when a OpenGL app was ran anyway (transparency on top bar etc)

My card is an X600 and device id was 3150 as stated, but nothin seems to work since followin your instructions, but I had a think and one of the steps in flashGX's guide was.....

5. The next step is to navigate to /System/Library/Extensions/ . Inside there, right click on the kext: ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.Bundle and click Show Package Contents. Go into the contents folder then the MacOS folder and there will be a file called ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver. Copy this to your desktop. Once on your desktop, Rename the file to this EXACTLY. ATIRadeon9700GLDriver. Then copy the file and navigate back to /System/Library/Extensions/. This time right click on ATIRadeon9700GLDriver.Bundle and go Show package contents. Move through the contents folder to the MacOS folder and paste the file there. It will ask for a password and make sure you replace the file!!!!

I didn't really know why I had to do that, but I did it anyway. My question is do you think that step could effect how your patch works on my sytem at all?

I've also got his callisto kexts installed which work great also, but would any of that cause conflicts?

Heres the guide

Thanks

We have to setup 2 components:

1. 2D Driver (ATIRadeon9700.kext)

1.1) Update the Info.plist XML file with your hardware ID

3D Driver (ATIRadeon9700GA.plugin)

1.2) Update the Info.plist XML file exchange IONVDRVFrameBuffer with CallistoFB

2. LCD panel ModeLine for 1280x800 (Callisto 006 Patched)

Install Callisto 006 patched in the easy way like other extensions.

How to patch yourself Callisto 006 binaries:

2.A) You need to know the RIGHT Modeline of your Flat LCD panel (you can read it on Linux Xorg log output, easy and clear)

May be (dot clock frequency):

71250

71500

71510

2.:P Find Callisto 006 already patched binary at addres 0x490E

2.C) Perform some numeric operations:

71250 Decimal to HEX = 0x00XXYYZZ

Reverse the BYTES: ZZYYXX00

Write it from address 0x490E

2.D) Ready now you have the patched Callisto binary

copy it into MacOSX Extensions folder

clear cache and reboot

Tip: if you read always 71250 on callisto dump at boot do not warry this is not updated.

Warning: look at callisto 006 binary at address 0x490E you must find some like 71xxx decimal value, if you didn't find this you are using wrong binary

I found this on the Web!

This is exactly the solution for ATI X700 ( 5653 ) M26 users with a Laptop!

I need 1280x800 Resolution!

How we can apply this Patch to the Callisto B6 Binary!

I dont know about Hex editors :-((

Please help us noobs!
