The Wiki Returns!

Sabr

Yep, that's right - it's back (and viagra free too!).

With the release of Apple's major 10.5.2 update, we figured the wiki should stand out as the central repository for all things OSx86. A 10.5.2 HCL template will be up and running come the release after Steve's keynote - making it the longest standing resource for up-to-date and accurate OSx86 information. Ever since the first leaks of 10.4.1 back in June '05 the wiki was the launch pad that started it all. If you haven't already, you will need to sign up and register yourself an account so you can start submitting your hardware profiles.

This wouldn't have happened had it not been for our fantastic Wiki Team! They've managed to pull together and transform the wiki from being spam-infested to the brilliant resource that it currently is. Congratulations go to skyhighmac, ~pcwiz, A.I.Ghost, and FragileMac for achieving this in such a short period of time!

Without further ado, I present to you the OSx86 Project Wiki.

Where the hack is the 10.5.2 Update ??

I've been refreshing the software update for the past few hours, and no 10.5.2 update.... <_<

So, how come you say 10.5.2 is released ?

Apple will release it in their own time. No one can be 100% sure when it will be released (apart from the Apple devs). ;)

Yeah, I'm still locked from editing the 775Dual-VSTA page that I created and have been maintaining. It has been locked since July or so for me, however it seems that other part of the wiki have been updated to a certain extent.

I don't know where to post, if posting here is wrong, I ask the admins to delete. I can't edit the wiki:

For Asus P5LD2-VM in 10.5.1, efi_v8 is working (kalyway install) and vanilla kernel works too (but the "XD returns to 0" must be disable in BIOS - it is enabled by default). Please add this in the wiki.

Thank you in advance.

10.5.2 is out...? I don't see it on Apple's download site...

Most people were betting on 10.5.2 being released after the keynote. That's why it was posted.

I like the model you guys follow: Post news before it happens and cross your fingers that everything will pan out the way you said it would... Either that or just pulling it off another news site with a little "full story link".

Come on guys stop posting "apple" news and go back to posting OSx86 news. We're mostly OSx86 users here and hearing about the release of iATKOS v1.0i is way more exciting than hearing about apple's latest releases. There are bucket loads of other sites doing just that. insanelymac is different (well it was). This site has been completely inspirational to me in that it moved me away from Apple's proprietary hardware systems and onto stuff I could make myself - and still keep using their proprietary OS. Start posting stuff that counts! Someone stop Numberz posting if at all possible too.

I think Numbrez is doing a great job.

I think the site can contain Apple news along with OSX86 news.

The OSX86 isen't that much, a new release, some links to guides etc.

But we who use osx86 are indeed users of Apple products and that's why it consernes us.

Great job, great site.. and you who don't like the news section, stop reading it.

I thought 10.5.1 already support 8800GT?

MacPro does...

http://www.apple.com/macpro/specs.html

well, that's a good question ...

we clearly don't have the support in 10.5.1 release as we are using 10.5.2 kext,

so if anyone can share the "mystery" kext inside that mac pro, that would be great..

and i can have all cores enabled. no more freezes!
