Lifebook A6110

Intel Core 2 Duo 1.83

2Gb

GMA X3100

etc

Installed Kalway 10.5.2, on boot gets past grey apple screen, then white screen with black stripe.

Tried second screen, it is blank.

Suggested is removal of certain .kexts, only way to replace these is to boot via DVD and open a terminal, however I'm flying blind here looking for the appropriate files.

Can anyone help with appropriate directory and file names, along with how to remove and replace .kexts.

Everything post in this forum seems to be predicated on a working system.

The ridiculous thing is that when setting up from DVD everything appears to be working, so working files are there, but which ones to use???

TIA

Hello,

I downloaded your release recently and I have tried booting from it but it fails. It successfully loads into the disk and starts doing a bunch of stuff but stops after these message:

I have a laptop,

1GB RAM, Intel Centrino Core 2 Duo 1.87 GHz

INTEL 945GM

Realtek sound

Intel ProSet/Wireless card

I'm pretty noobish at this, and I hope you don't mind me asking for help. (sorry if I missed something, I tried as hard as i could)

Thanks

thanks..yeah..really happy...

how did u go with your install ?? all good ?

My install is good. :D Went with a custom build (see sig). Working perfectly, sleep/restart/shutdown 100% of the time. Haven't made the plunge to 10.5.3 yet as I don't want to risk it.

Don't worry, that's normal, the files are there, you won't be able to see them in anyway, just try booting and it'll be fine.

Sweeeeeeet!!!! Working well now. Even got Logic Pro running smoothly with both cores working on an amd x6000 cpu. :D Shut down and reboot is faster than my xp system.

Format the hard driveThat worked for me
Thank you for the tip.....worked well. ;)

By the way....the only way I managed to install was in safe mode -x

Every other options I tried just froze the install.

Kaly - Love the install. Chameleon - thanks for the IDE fix...

Now I've got another problem and can't seem to find the answer.

I've got everything installed alright except my logitech mx3200 and logitech fusion webcam. They're both USB and are recognized when I plug them in, but I can't get any further than that.

I've installed the logitech control center from apple and it says no keyboard plugged in. As for the webcam, i've tried both macam and ioexperts...

Anyone have any insight??

Hello everybody!

I've got ar problem and can't seem to find the answer. I have searched the forum but i couldn't find the fix for it. I have 2 hard drives but leopard sees only one (the one that i installed the OS on it). The problem is that the one which is seen by leopard has 60 GB and my other hard drive has 80GB (so i really need that space).

Is there a fix for my problem?

Thank you in advance!

It could be your, bios set up or you haven't formatted your drive or you've got the drive as a master as well. :D

It's true that it is as master...so all i have to do is to make it slave?

Thank you again!

Problem with Kalyway 10.5.2 install here

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L

CPU: Intel C2D E2140

HDD: WD 250 GB SATA II

Kaly 10.5.2 was burned 4x speed on DVD-R

I've formated, and prepared FAT32 partition, started and customized instalation( kernels, drivers, languages...) - everything was going fine but when OS X starts to install and when it comes to about 20 minutes remaining I get yellow warning sign which says " The installer could not install some files in "/volumes/LEOPARD"

Contact the software manufacturer for assistance"

I'm looking for some direction getting 10.5.2 to load the installer,

I've atempted 3 different directions with the Kalyway disk

1. did the edit to the 10.5.2 disk mentioned in this thread:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...8915&st=20#

/System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/Info.plist

and switched the info.plist with the backup. it kernal panics at the same spot

2. did the edit on the 10.5.2 disk mentioned here:

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=110401#

where you are replacing the bootloader. It crashes at the same place.

3. the original kalyway 10.5.2 disk

It crashes at the same place.

they always still hang at the:

Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.0: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_386

I've been reading these forums for this computers

fix for a month, but I haven't seen any suggestions on how to step over this. I cannot even load the installer in the first place.

Anyone out there with some helpful ideas, i got the time.

Kenny

Have you tried in safe mode? Press f8 on load up then -x for safe mode.

Only firewire is avalible.

Tried to do what a post said on the tiger section, but I cant edit the plist - says I dont have sufficient privileges - but i have set myself as admin! Why is this not working???

Any new news on the ethernet driver?

Any help would be appriciated, im a bit of a mac n00b, but learning fast..

I have downloaded the Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD but i boot from the disk and get

Still waiting for root device

Here are my specs

post-238831-1212612248_thumb.jpg

HOw do I get past the error "Still waiting for root device"

I had the same problem and would like to point everyones attention to this one. Aparently what i had to do was use the -legacy flag (for AMD PCs) and this information is only mentioned in the installer (during packages selection stage). So unless you know it you can't boot the installer and wont see the precious message  .

Maybe Kaly should update the guide for this one?
