watons Posted March 28, 2008 Share Posted March 28, 2008 Just installed JaS 10.5.2 beta, I didn't choose efi-guid or efi-mbr, reboot then it let me choose xp or leopard to enter,it's successful and I can enter the system. BUT this is my problem, I want to make it like before,use tboot/chain0 to choose the system, How to do it? But everytime I want start my system with this DVD, the last message on screen got before the notebook shutdown is "CPU halt". I have a HP Pavilion dv4152ea and no Mac OS X (from 10.4.8 up to 10.5.2) should be start or work after the first new boot. I miss the OS and before August 2008 I don't get a real MacBook. I don't see any difficult hardware in the HP (all exept PCI/PCIe Card, Card-Reader an WLAN is functionary)... Now (after three times try with Mac OS X 10.4.8 (JaS - don't boot after first boot and freez all 10 seconds), 10.4.11 (XxX - don't boot after first boot), 10.5.1 (Kalyway - don't boot [hang & reboot]) and Mac OS X 10.5.2 - don't boot for install [CPU halt & shutdown])... After installing your Beta test i cant run my leo becouse I don't have a USB keyb and MOUSE. on kalyways dvd it supports. Im strong with xp but fairly green with osx but far from noobsville. I have a asus p5e vm hdmi and the kaly leo 10.5.1 doesn't work at all (doesn't even get to the install page-menu). So many people are using the Mac (hardware) platform directly because of Jas's efforts, so many supplemental sales for Apple. Short of Apple releasing the OS X operating system for all platforms so that everyone gets to see how wonderful Apple are, hobbyists like Jas have forged the way to students buying Apple hardware in a way that no clever advertising campaign could touch. Apple were always perceived as too expensive and it kept them off buyer's radars (though iTunes for Windows and now Safari will certainly make further inroads, though even then Firefox's grip is getting ever stronger). Jas, and a whole cast of other worthies, opened people's eyes into how worthwhile the Apple experience is. Good on you, Jas! Plus im to lazy to download that big of a thing unless i know it ill work. I currently have a Nvidia Geforce 8500 gt 512 mb and would love to see that work and also i have a dlink dwa-g520 that would be nice to see working w/ airport support. And if u need a test id be more then happy on my SSE3 machine. However, I have not succeeded on 2 machines so far, one is an Acer Travelmate 380 and the other is an NEC Powermate. Both setups fail before I could reach the GUI installation steps. I had this problem too. I had so many problems with SATA drives on ICH8. He has a fix for it.
