(My main concern is my aging 1.2 G4, 2 gig RAM, PowerMac, will start to really show its age, and Leopard will just eat this classic desktop-beast. So any news I can read from this great community etc., will help me decide if I stand in line at my Apple Store in late October. . . and settle on Tiger being my last cat).

dont even worry, while my(not main) powerbook 12" 1.5GHz g4 with 1.5 GB ram runs leopard like a dream :), not as fast as my macbook pro, but its fast for a g4

if i am not mistaken, that was in tiger as well :)

No, you're not mistaken at all. I'm aware of all the various ways to right-click with Tiger on an Apple notebook. I read this thread and then asked a question about Leopard. I felt that HackerName's response was sarcastic because that information is widely known. Peace.

Was not being sarcastic at all. Not everyone knows about all the methods for right-clicking.

And since you thought that Leopard might add a way to change the actual hardware of the button itself, I assumed you were in that category :)

My apologies.

lol, i guess i should have read everyone's posts before saying stuff, my bad :)

@hackername: what build r u coming from, u prolly posted it somewhere, but i dont feel like looking for it :hysterical:

It's totally cool, I wasn't offended or anything. I enjoy sarcasm :). I've only been browsing InsanelyMac for a couple of days and I've already learned a lot. I can admit my own ignorance though. I just didn't see any resolution to that thread. It's apparent that Leopard (9a559) doesn't support what I was asking, is that even possible then? Point me in the right direction?

Oh man, now I feel like I'm wasting a lot of space here. Read this thread.

If the current trackpad button on the MacBook and MacBook Pro does actually have 2 buttons and seperate sensors (one on each end with a fulcrum in the middle) is it possible for a software update (or hack) to enable one to function as the "primary" and the other as the "secondary" click?

EDIT: I do own a 2.4GHz MBP so I am aware that on the surface there is only 1 trackpad button.

Someone mentioned that the volume bezel looks different? Or was that just in Front Row (aka Apple TV)? Any screenshots Numberz? :)

did anyone notice that downloading from ftp sites cant seem to work out? like for example, my gf sent me a file to yousendit, and i retrieved it from ftp.. but it downloads the first 1mb or so, then it gets stuck.. and the speed drops to 0kb/s...

Edit: ok guys, found the issue already.. if u have firewall on, do remember to add safari to the firewall apps list or else safari wont be able to access anything outside of http...

Are you talking FTP in Finder? Has that EVER worked? :)

Use Transmit dude.

Yeah. Just in FrontRow. Screenshot was posted a few pages back, but the thread got so cluttered with all the torrent and downloading discussion that I can't be bothered to dig it up.

Just trust me, it's ugly ^_^

i'm using transmit for ftps... but i mean direct downloads from ftp sites... like game stuff etc... anyway, issue resolved, cos i didnt add safari to the firewall's allowed list under syspref->security->firewall....
