Guest h2a Posted June 15, 2007 Share Posted June 15, 2007 but the problem seemed to stem from identifying bits on the discs, linking them to whomever registered for them at wwdc. splitting the files into hundreds of pieces doesn't get rid of that data. no. the problem did not stem from that. that problem would cause people who already have the OS installed to get caught by Apple and the developer who leaked it would get in trouble (but we can't even confirm that such incriminating data actually exists). the idea in that image is to get it out faster before apple can take down the tracker from the torrent site. the problem is announcing it to the whole world like everybody did on this forum and all over the internet so that Apple spies see it and send ninjas in after it. bits on a disc have no correspondence with a torrent being seeded. It's not watermarked, the disks where handed out randomly... and the 14 secondary seeders would not be seeding the parts... they would seed the reconstructed disk image....
