lamentofking
so the 1.4 will fixed SATA issues? its my 1st post. desperately seeking how to install uphuck. i've got the new acer aspire L100 desktop athlonx2 64 4000+ processor nvidia board 1gb ram / 250gb HD From what I understand, it isnt your hd. Its the chipset and mobo that your hd has to work with thats the problem. Some ppl posted requests for uphuck to include support for their computer hardware. (me included). I dont know if he'll include all of them or not. I hope he includes mine. I cant install any version of osx86 from what i understand because my chipset isnt supported. EDIT: I just realised what uphuck's v1.4i release is for so it doesnt matter what he puts on that version because I wont be able to use it anyway as dont have intel. I need to wait for him to release v1.4a for amd which i hope he made it compatiable with my hardware so that I may have my first, may or may not be 100%, working copy of osx86. frizbot
Thanks Uphuck for the update, release when you're ready. 1.3 did not work for me (the Intel 1000 Pro GT (and MT apparently) problem), but I'll have to try any updates. Thanks for maintaining the release! I'm sure Uphuck will include as many working drivers as are available. OS X doesn't support all hardware, so it's about including tricks that get some things to work. Let's hope that there are ways to enable our hardware. evilkazuya
Hi everybody, this is my first post in this forum. I went searching high and low for the osx86 that will run on my machine but no luck so far. Tryed to boot natively on my laptop but gor kernel panic! Installed on vmware but after restart it won't boot! my hw spec: AMD Sempron 3500+ SSE3 enabled MCP51 Chipset SATA HDD and the details are in photos hw overview CPU Specs Chipset spec If anyone can help, please do. I saw there is problem with nforce 430 and sata. Is this setup possible now. Any workarounds? Thanks, and once more thank to uphuck for his work. EddieR
I tried 1.3 as well as 1.2, but after completing the install I would get the message, System config file '/com.apple.Boot.plist, not found... I did notice also when booting and pressing F8 my system was only showing the DVD as a boot option and wasn't detecting my hard drive with the UpHuck install?? I decided to get an old Jas version DVD I had lying around version 10.4.7 and used the Jas version to reformate my Hard Drive, I than did an install of UpHuck 1.3 once again, this time my system did detect my hard drive and proceeded to boot it, but It stopped with a dark screen and pointer on the upper left corner, I believe it is a video problem at this point since my system has a GMA950, and upon installing the UpHuck 950 Driver that was the end result, maybe I will wait for his next version. BTW, UpHuck thanks for all your efforts, and wonder why you didn't include the touchpad driver I had found sometime ago on this site for tapping ?? P/P/S I Wonder if the next release can do a check of the system iot is being installed on, and automatically sellect the best addons, kext etc... Thanks once again... EddieR
Finally got this up and running, still having issues, I used the GMA900 for video, eventhough my Sony Viao Laptop states its a GMA950, also used the universal kext file, number three. Still can't get the onboard wireless internet to work, am using a USB adapter where Ralink works. No Sound as of yet, but have something that states, HD Audio Output ?? BTW: when I check the about this mac it resets the screen almost as a refresh, but, doesn't show any of the spec's Hope the next release will correct these issues... Morpheus Phreak
Check that your SATA controllers are in the correct modes. There is support for the ICH8/8-R chipset in v1.3 There's post-install driver support for the ICH8/8-R, but there's no boot support as of yet. So basically anytime I want to do an install I have to put the HD in my wifes PC and use VMWARE to install to the HD and include the ICH8 support during the install, then I can move it to my machine. However it fails to support the ICH8 on boot. Right now those 3 things as I said would make a huge amount of people happy as there's tons of owners of XPS410s who want to use them for OSX86 and those are the only things missing support-wise. oiasdas
Alright, I am having a devil of a time installing this version. I have downloaded it twice from two different sources, burned 3 different DVDs, and everytime I after I burn it and verify it, it gets to about 95% of verifying the disc, and it comes up with errors. When I try and install it, it fails and tells me I have to try reinstalling. Now I am no noob at this, I Have had osx86 running for several years. Something is wrong with the image or how I am burning it. I tried burning it in IMGburn or whatever its called, without changing the cdr extension. Then I tried installing by changing the cdr extension to iso and using nero. This is the first and ONLY time I have ever had a problem with software I have downloaded. Please help if you have any idea what is up. bizkut
do you mean 1.4? Which newsgroup has it. having a hard time finding it so far.Only 1.3 so far no 1.4. Everytime I try and verify the DVD im burning, I get read errors out my ass. Could it be my DVD drive crapping out?Your DVD drive could be crapping out. Try slower your DVD burning drive to x2 or x1. Much slower burn but no more write error. Morpheus Phreak
Try using PowerISO to burn the file. That's what I had to do to get it working. When you try to burn it you'll have to select the "all files" option to see it.
