Has established ALC888Audio.pkg in sound devices all ports it is visible, but the sound does not work, help to adjust, established on MSI i945 NEO5

HELP ME !!!! :) MAC OS X 10.5 Leopard

Did you get sound working on your MSI board with ALC888? I have found that many boards with that sound codec don't work. In particular, AsRock and MSI boards. I believe that I read somewhere that boards that do NOT have digital IN (SPDIF IN) will not work, and I believe that the MSI and AsRock boards are in that category. If you want an excellent board that DOES work, get one of the Gigagbyte boards such as the GA-945GCMC-S2. This is an excellent board that does overclocking, supports Core 2 Duo cpus including up to 1066 and 1333 FSB (latter with OC) only though) and the ALC888 works perfectly with the installer in this forum. Let me know about your issues with ALC888 and the MSI board. Thanks. sg

Sorry but i'm a newbie .I've search in this forum an how-to but i didn't find any guide about installing .kext files. I've downloaded on the desktop the AppleAzaliaAudio.kext (uncompressed) but...how can I install it ? I've got an Intel 945GCZ board. Thank you very much.

OK, I have started a new thread so I can keep all my drivers together in one easy to find post. For a little background info on this project refer to THIS thread. I would also like to mention that this would not be possible without Semthex, Taruga, TheMax32000, Rene204 and the countless testers that have helped develop these kext!

AzaliaAudio.pkg should give 2ch output on most High Def Audio chipsets (updated v1.1)

AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip

ALC883Audio.pkg includes kext's for ALC883 support on mobo's with 3ports, 3ports w/digital, 6ports and 6ports w/digital

ALC883Audio.mpkg.zip

ALC888Audio.pkg includes kext's for ALC888 support on mobo's with 3ports, 3ports w/digital, 6ports and 6ports w/digital

ALC888Audio.mpkg.zip

YOU MUST USE 8.8.1 OR NEWER KERNEL WITH ALC883AUDIO.PKG AND ALC888AUDIO.PKG

If you have 3 outputs working you can setup 5.1 using Audio MIDI Setup found in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder. On the menu bar select "Audio>Open Aggregate Device Editor". Click on the "+" square and it will add a new aggregate device. Now select "Use" next to each output you want to add(usually the first 3) and click "done". Change Default Output to the "Aggregate Device". Now select "Aggregate Device" in the Properties For: box and click on "Configure Speakers". Click "Multichannel" and select "5.1 Surround". When your done configuring your speakers the way you want them, make sure you click "Apply" before "Done". You should now have 5.1 surround sound working.

Hi,

the alc888Audio.mpkg don't work on my ASrock Conroe945-DVI (ICH7)[/size. but i need the sound for my work. has anybody a idea?

regards

The reason it won't work is because the audio driver requires emulation. Thats something patcher can't do. Hardware wise its there but it doesn't output. On Windows XP there is no driver unless you install the software that came with your motherboard. Windows Vista is the only system that has a driver .inf file. Linux uses IntelHDA but I think its not fully ALSA it might be using ESD for output and input through ALSA. The only way to use the audio is to install the AppleAzalia.kext .

I installed the ALC888 driver on my 10.5.2 AMD installation and sound only worked on only my back 2 speakers. Followed the guide for 5.1 speakers and got all the speakers setup within Audio Midi Setup, but after that I can't hear any sound. Every speaker makes a hiss noise under configure speakers. The volume control under audio output has no options, no matter what stream I choose, and there's 4 streams.

Course the volume control won't allow me to control it.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

hi there,

can you please upload this file again because the links down! :)

ALC888Audio.mpkg.zip

AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip

I think it's a problem with the forum, all attached files right now are offline, pictures etc.. Hopefully just temporarily and hopefully they will start working again soon.

I'm in need of ALC888Audio.mpkg myself, hoping it will give me microphone support, I have no input right now, only output.

Hi guys!

My ALC883 its working fine but, I have a 5.1 system, I did the aggregate thing and, in de MIDI settings, you can hear the sound from all the 5.1 system. But, when I listen any music or video it didnt work with all the 5.1 system...only with 3.

Any help

Thank You

Hi. How do you uninstall this driver? I have the ALC883 driver installed which is not compatible the driver from this thread. I'm running Kalyway's Leopard, updated to 10.5.2 using the latest Vanilla kernel?

Where can I download the driver for ALC883 that'll work with 5.1 surround sound setup that is compatible with Kalyway's Leopard?

Also, what is an AppleHDA patch? Thanks in advance.

Oh my god, I could kiss you!

I've been trying a bunch of stuff that was over my head, but the Azalia Audio installer fixed me right up!

I'm running a Toshiba M115-S3094 w/ Kaliway 10.5.1.

THAAAAANKS!!!!

Now anyone want to help with my B0 error so I can boot without a disk? :)

I have a Alc880 in my laptop and can only get sound through the lineout when connecting a headset or speakers. I cannot figure out how to get the sound to play through the build in speakers.
