I have mainboard: GA-P35C-DS3R, Intel Core 2 Duo E6750, 2GB DDRII 800, WD5000AAKS, DVD GSA-LG 4163B, nvidia 8500.

Installed OSX 10.4.6 directly to HD using vmware and sucessfully booted natively.

Installed RealtekR1000 from: https://sourceforge.net/projects/realtekr1000/ (http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=29436&st=0&gopid=203604entry203604)

- got working LAN.

I tried AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip from: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...mp;#entry259784 .

Did not helped me.

I tried also alc889a.zip from: http://rapidshare.com/files/51585161/alc889a.zip.html (using this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...t=#entry457698)

- OS did not booted - some bug was reported by OS.

My bios version is: F4i.

And I have Azalia codec enabled in setup.

hey everyone i have

GB P35-S3L ICH9

ALC 888

Tried ALC888Audio.pkg but no luck.

someone named emzo has already figured it out luckily and left me with this little tid bit of info

Dev id's are:

8086 293e - controller

10ec 0888 - audio

emzo

Sep 2 2007, 02:05 PM

I managed to get audio working, by adding my dev ID to the kexts.

Mic in works

Line In works

Audio output:

In output i have 4 Line out devices.I cannot get sound played via all 7.1 speakers, i can only hear from each 2 speakers.

i realise i have to modify applehda.kext and alcinject.kext with those devids. how do i do that? maybe someone could help me out. i can get the codec dump from linux if needed. let's add gigabyte p35 ds3l to the list of supported alc888 boards, it was reccomended by arstechnica as a good p35 board and everything else works including sata and pata controllers and ethernet. the sound obviously works too, just gotta get the right device ids into the kext. i would do it myself but i'm not sure where to start...

thanks!!

charlienail since there is no ICH9 for mac os x you have to add it to your AppleHDAController.kext

<key>Intel ICH8 HDA</key>
	<dict>
		<key>CFBundleIdentifier</key>
		<string>com.apple.driver.AppleHDAController</string>
		<key>HDAConfigDefault</key>
		<array>
			<dict>
				<key>CodecID</key>
				<integer>283904136</integer>
				<key>ConfigData</key>
				<data>
				</data>
				<key>FuncGroup</key>
				<integer>1</integer>
				<key>LayoutID</key>
				<integer>12</integer>
			</dict>
			<dict>
				<key>CodecID</key>
				<integer>2206496385</integer>
				<key>ConfigData</key>
				<data>
				</data>
				<key>FuncGroup</key>
				<integer>1</integer>
				<key>LayoutID</key>
				<integer>12</integer>
			</dict>
		</array>
		<key>IOClass</key>
		<string>AppleHDAController</string>
		<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key>
		<string>0x284B8086</string> "THIS PART HAS TO CHANGE TO YOUR DEV ID"
		<key>IOProviderClass</key>
		<string>IOPCIDevice</string>
	</dict>

and the same goes for the ALCinject.kext if its not in there

Okay, so I've got basic line-out working now on my alc888 (ga-p35-ds3L - ICH9) by adding the proper ids after installing the alc888 package in the first post.

Now, is there anything special I need to do to get the front panel audio working? The front panel on my case (cooler master cm 690) had multiple audio connections for my motherboard, including HD Audio, AC 97, and Azalia. From what I can tell from my motherboards book, both HDA and AC97 are supported. My understanding was that this is an HDA driver. Should I try another driver, or is there something else I need to do?

There is also only one output option in the sound menu (basic line-out), even though my motherboard has multichannel/digital/spdif/optical.

Is this the wrong driver to get all this working?

OK, I have started a new thread so I can keep all my drivers together in one easy to find post. For a little background info on this project refer to THIS thread. I would also like to mention that this would not be possible without Semthex, Taruga, TheMax32000, Rene204 and the countless testers that have helped develop these kext!

Skippy

AzaliaAudio.pkg should give 2ch output on most High Def Audio chipsets (updated v1.1)

AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip

ALC883Audio.pkg includes kext's for ALC883 support on mobo's with 3ports, 3ports w/digital, 6ports and 6ports w/digital

ALC883Audio.mpkg.zip

ALC888Audio.pkg includes kext's for ALC888 support on mobo's with 3ports, 3ports w/digital, 6ports and 6ports w/digital

ALC888Audio.mpkg.zip

If you have 3 outputs working you can setup 5.1 using Audio MIDI Setup found in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder. On the menu bar select "Audio>Open Aggregate Device Editor". Click on the "+" square and it will add a new aggregate device. Now select "Use" next to each output you want to add(usually the first 3) and click "done". Change Default Output to the "Aggregate Device". Now select "Aggregate Device" in the Properties For: box and click on "Configure Speakers". Click "Multichannel" and select "5.1 Surround". When your done configuring your speakers the way you want them, make sure you click "Apply" before "Done". You should now have 5.1 surround sound working.

hell JEH!!! TY FINALY I HAVE AUDIO midi says HD :) TYTYTYTYTYTYTY!!!!!!!!!

No problem. I have uphuck_10.4.9_v1.4i_r2 + mother board GA-P35C-DS3R with Realtek ALC889A audio - currently with support only of 2 channels under osx86.

I can prepare PAKG. You can send me all required data to pavn at centrum.cz, I will post PAKG here then.

AzaliaAudio.pkg.zip ( 71.58K ) Number of downloads: 15864

This driver worked right away, thru a standard install (no editing or deleting of any kext) on my Gigabyte 945GZM-S2 mobo running 10.5 (Leo). Good one!

Hmm...

thanks for this patch :stretcher:

Works on my setup. BUT the channels are only accessible separately. So i have 3 sets of stereo speakers to choose from for using audio.

How do i get em to work in 5.1 mode? I have configure them for multichannel. But it doesn't work.

Anyone know a solution?
