  1. GMA 4500 driver for Snow Leopard

Doesnt seem to change anything on my Dell Vostro 1015 with 4500MHD. I replaced the boot file on the root, restarted a few times, and it hasnt changed anything. When I try any of the other ways of getting 4500 working, i get a blue screen after the boot screen for 2 seconds, which then switches to a black screen until I reboot. EDIT: It works! The default install of EmpireEFI put a Graphics Mode = 1024x768x32 in my com.apple.Boot.plist. After changing it to 1366x768x32, it works great. Thank you so much!
  2. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

Thanks, I'll try that now. I didn't realize you had to delete AppleHDA first. the SD reader is tied to the PCMCIA slot on these laptops, but the OP says he used IOSDHCIBlockDevice.kext to get his working. I tried the one from sourceforge, but it didn't change anything. EDIT: excellent, the VoodooHDA works fine after deleting AppleHDA.
  3. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

It worked! Thank you riws. My external monitor plug is disabled using this, but I dont care. Now all I need is Sound, SD reader, Ethernet and Wifi and I'm set! Also, I have the keyboard working with ApplePS2Controller.kext from Empire EFI, but the trackpad doesnt work. And I can't seem to get VoodooPS2Trackpad to work. Any ideas? Voldemort: Could you please upload your entire /Extra/Extensions folder somewhere? If you already got all of this working, it would really save me some troubleshooting. EDIT: I managed to get everything working except for the SD card reader, and sound.
  4. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

    I'm attempting to replace AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext atm, but here's my boot.plist: com.apple.Boot.plist.zip
  5. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

Copied it to /, and then tried /Extra/, both didnt make a difference. I still get a grey screen after the spinning boot thing is done.
  6. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

How do I "install" a DSDT file anyways?
  7. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

It generated a DSDT.dsl file, not .aml. Heres the file it generated though: Edit: My bad, I force compiled it, and this is what it spit out: dsdt.zip
  8. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

Mind explaining how to do this? Last time I was in the scene, 10.5.7 and Chameleon RC2 has just come out.
  9. Internal Display GMA950 Laptop its not working! Aspire 3680

Cool, I got as far as you told me, Snow Leo is up and running now, but only when I plug in a external monitor. I could use some kexts for ethernet, video, wifi (my card is supposedly supported natively on Snow Leopard, but I just need to enable the PCI-E port with IOPCIFamily.kext right?) Anything else that I need? thanks a ton.
  10. What happened with the guide on the front page? It seems like you updated the Acer 3680.rar, but didnt update the guide to go with it. There is no Boot132 ISO in the new rar file. I used to be great at these laptops, but I've been out of the scene for so long I cant remember how to install. Everytime I go to install IOPCIFamily.kext to get my ethernet working, it kernel panics on reboot. How lame!

I'd love if you could write a guide on how you got snow leo installed on your 3680. I've been trying for a solid 3 days now, and I keep getting kernel panics etc. Ive read that quite a few people have gotten it worked perfectly on the 3680, but I'm definitely not one of them.
  12. I still have my old (10.5.7 i believe) hard drive, with mac still working fine. as well as an older install of 10.5.2 on another hard drive as well. I have a 80GB external USB hard drive thats blank. I'm just looking for a simple way to install Snow Leopard. I was reading a few posts back and the OP said something about needing to disable spotlight. Can you still use spotlight on Snow Leopard? I used to use spotlight for everything. For example, if i needed to use terminal, I'd go to spotlight and type "ter" and click terminal. Last time I used OSX on this desktop, It was extremely hard to install mac onto core i7 systems. It took me a good 2 days to get 10.5.7 running. Before that, you couldn't use anything but 10.5.2
  13. Could someone please take the time to create a noob walkthrough and a kext package to get this working. I have a EX58-DS4, and I used to be really into Mac, but I've gone to Windows 7 for the last few months and I can't figure out any of the new terminology you people are using anymore. I always like to follow guides that are written for COMPLETE noobs. as in, write a guide on how to do it as if I have no clue how to do anything without you telling me how to. Most guides that people write assume that the user knows what he/she is doing. When in reality, if we knew what we were doing, we wouldn't need your guide. So again, can someone write a noob guide on how to install, and post an easy package.
  14. hmm i cant seem to duplicate it now on iATKOS it seems to work on iPC 10.5.6 with PPF5 installed though!
  15. i actually dont really know how i did it... im gonna spend the whole day today trying to figure it out so everyone can have hibernation
