There is Output device in system preferences->sound->output.

may i suggest running a linux live cd, making a codec dump, and patching your audio using HDA Patcher. that worked for me.

Hi,

I have Leo4all 10.5.2 Leopard Installed and all working just fine, only sound do not work.

My big problem I think is that I cannot find the right driver because I couldn't state the exact model of my built in audio, please help my find out, I'm driving crazy about this. :D

Here are the specs:

Laptop: Asus W5Fm

Vendor: 8086h Intel Corporation

Device: 27D8h 82801G (ICH7 Family) High Definition Audio Controller

VEN_10EC&DEV_0660

I guessed it could be Realtek ALC660; if so, what driver do I have to use?

VERY Thank You!!!

Hi all - I have an Abit IP35-e with what I believe is an ALC880 Realtek audio device, and I cannot get this working in 10.5.2 with Kalyway's upgrade and then his vanilla kernel.

Do you guys have any pointers?

Thank you!

Hi, I'm new in this forum, I don't know very well apple so I ask you for some help.

I've ALC883 sound chipset on my asus P5KSE mobo, I've just installed azaliaaudio.pkg and alc883.pkg but nothing changed.

Leopard says "no built in audio". I saw that dump.txt for alc883 in last reply to this topic, could it be useful to me? how can I use that?

thank you for your support,

I have a Ga-945GCMX-S2 and used the ALC888 package. 3 port, 3 port with digital, and 6 port all got me working output and mic. 6 Port with Digital *what I have* didn't work at all. Line in does not work with any of these as well *It shows up but nothing is heard when you have line in used*. Front panel is also non functional in all of these.

Can anyone help me, I am SOOO desperate ;~( PLEASE!

I need 6 Port Digital with Front Panal!

I've installed the ALC883 on my leopard 10.5.2 (mobo ASUS P5K PRO) but in system preference it tells me i've haven't a sound card installed...What i have to do ?

That's exactly what I have (ALC883 in P5K-Pro) and what I have done (using the patch for ALC883 from this thread). Nothing happens, system doesn't recognize sound card anymore. Before that, I used built-in driver from the Leo4all v.3 DVD, and I had 2 channel output /w digital out (multichannel didn't work; front panel audio didn't work either)

Can anybody help?
