Please, download this .heic and open with Preview app:
https://www.insanelymac.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=421985&key=242257a78e159c861f15c42cf4bdaa2b
And tell me if open same picture first post or same second post.

@chris1111, you who know EVERYTHING about .icns or .heic images, does Beta 6 have any bugs? :happymac:

Note: I'm referring to the Preview app when opening .heic or .icns files, not specifically Dynamic Wallpaper.

Let me see if I can see if there is a difference on my machine or the same as your result.

Just checked and it's all good on my machine.

When you open the image with Preview, the image appears like this:

Thanks to @fantomas for the direct link. I could update but my software update doesn't work well anymore. I'll check later what the *** I did, since I'm the cause for sure . Thanks all as usual.

@Anto65, @miliuco and @eSaF (My Young Consultants!):

Have you tested this Dynamic Wallpaper (.heic) on Tahoe Beta 6?
I'm asking because it was working fine until Beta 5. Not so on Beta 6!
Even if you open it with the Preview app, it doesn't display as shown in the image (heic) below; it looks like a single image like PNG, JPG, etc.

In my opinion, it's a bug.
If you have Beta 5, Sequoia, Sonoma, or Ventura, etc., open .heic image and you'll see that it behaves differently.
Thanks @eSaF.

EDIT:
In the Preview app, .heic or .icns images should display the embedded images in the left tab. This doesn't happen in Beta 6!

Have they really been tested with USB2 and USB3 devices and do they work? 😀

And I, naive, thought that there was a limit of 15 ports per physical controller...

I don't test all ports. But Its worked.

Yes absolutely correct, images appears and function correctly in  both Sonoma and Sequoia.

The tests were performed in all three Mac versions. Beta 6 is flawed when displaying this Dynamic Wallpaper.

Also Preview only displays one Thumbnail Sample instead of all four aspects of the file.

As it is still a Beta I suppose we have to expect these Bugs.

Talking about bugs, does anyone else get random hiding of the dock after screensave has been on? I have it set to always showing but it hides after the screensaver has been on for a while.

Also, my Tahoe nighttime dynamic wallpaper is just pretty well black lol. As you'd expect I guess. I'm using HDR and that seems to be quirky sometimes.

No need as I already know it worked in that way before the Apple HDA restoration.

As a matter of interest what are your machine specs? This is so we can understand your query clearly and hopefully provide viable answers.

Sorry if you've already posted them and Ive missed it.

Then again it would be a lot easier for all if you furnish your profile with your machine's specs.

My configuration is basic: Gigabyte Z490i + i3-10105T (UHD 630).

I reinstalled Sequoia to double check that my EFI is still working correctly. And yes, I have sound through HDMI or DP.

Then I did a clean install of Beta6 and now there’s no digital sound anymore.

Of course, I did not restore AppleHDA and I’m really curious if it’s possible to get HDMI/DP audio working without doing that or not.

you are right, it does not open the  .heic  the way sequoia does so it is probably a beta bug

Guys let's not this argument turn into something that it's not, you might just have a simple miscommunication and a simple misunderstanding, so please either use PM to resolve this issue or simply just drop it.

Thanks

@chris1111 in macOS Tahoe, for this sound blaster DAC, are you simply plug in and using it without the Sound Blaster Play! 3 Control Panel app? The app is good for tweaks (it works in Sequoia but in macOS Tahoe I'm getting an error (the audio device supported by this application cannot be detected. The application will now close), maybe it's because Tahoe is beta?

Can someone please share a full PKG download for full latest macOS Tahoe Beta?

( For download via IDM on Windows 10 OS PC. )

I am using one of the very early macOS Tahoe Betas currently, so want to get it updated to latest now. :)

Having no real Macs here seems I am blocked from usual method.

( Cannot login to Apple account at all, it errors out - and if I cannot login I do not get latest Beta access. )

@jlrycm

I have a Sound Blaster Play! 3 since Tahoe beta 2 and it works fine. No kext or any other setting needed. Sound of good quality.

Tried SimpleLoader and MyKextInstaller and both have worked fine too.

Does anyone have working audio on Intel (UHD 630) HDMI/DP without having to restore the AppleHDA.kext?

On my Skylake NUC6i5SYH with only integrated graphics (Intel Iris Plus 540), I need root patched AppleHDA.kext to have functioning Intel DP/HDMI audio output.  VoodooHDA.kext restores my Realtek ALC283 audio codec (headphone output) but unfortunately not Intel DP/HDMI audio.

From what I gather, people with discrete AMD graphics cards still have functioning DP/HDMI sound output through their graphics card's DP or HDMI without having to restore AppleHDA.  Of course In Tahoe Beta1, I didn't need root patching as AppleHDA was present.

Tahoe EFI won't run Ventura?

I use a single EFI to boot macOS Catalina through Tahoe on my hack.

EDIT: I'm using VoodooHDA.kext with Tahoe, but because I'm using AppleALC as an AppleHDAGFX "blocker" instead of AppleHDADisabler, I still load AppleALC in Tahoe.
