Please, can anybody help-me to understand how SwapKeys are supposed to work?

Eg: By defaul, in my kb, Alt=Option and Win=Comand but I'll do like to leave as real Mac where Alt=Cmd and Win=Opt.

Is that possible at OpenCore interface? Because even with SwapKeys=Yes this have no effect to me.

Is it normal?

Similar settings on my other computer Gigabyte GA-Z170, everything works.

2. PickerAudioAssist and appla sound do not work at startup.

3. I have this problem:

When starting, I always get this error:

No Arguments are initialised for method [_STA]

Someone has a similar problem here, unfortunately I could not find someone to solve this problem.

Anyone met with this?

What do I need to add?

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Was wondering if there is a tool for creating custom SSDT-EC and SSDT-PLUG AML files Opencore requires? Wonder if Hackintool does that? Second wonder if I have a Kabylake motherboard running a Skylake processor I would suppose I need a readymade version of Skylake SSDT files off of the Opencore guide?

THANKS

You can create these with corpnewt's SSDTTime

Wouldn't you know it had it already installed. Just not use all its features. Such as HPET IRQ conflicts. What a great little tool!

Thank you

I converted my Clover based Catalina installation to OpenCore and everything is perfect. Amazing work by team Acidanthera @Download-Fritz @vit9696 @Andrey1970

However I now tried to upgrade my 10.15.2 installation to 10.15.4 (I’m using the full Installer), the Installer says that my Mac needs a firmware update to install to APFS volume and it asks me to pick a HFS+ partition instead. See the attached screenshot.

I can however workaround the problem by choosing Macbookpro14,1 instead of Macbookpro13,1 that I normally use. It seems OpenCore is spoofing / reporting  an older Boot ROM when using Macbookpro13,1.
My hack is a Lenovo T460 laptop with i5-6300u and is better matched with Macbookpro13,1 but even otherwise the problem of spoofing an older Boot ROM seems to be a bug with OpenCore. I’m using OpenCore 0.5.7. What you all think?

@vit9696 @Andrey1970 @Download-Fritz Any thoughts on this?

Hello,

I have some problem with the boot audio, I'd want to play chime at startup.

The setup seems correct, but I have an error in OpenCore log (OCAU: Cannot find specified audio device - Not Found).

From Opencore log:

The 4 outputs device is HDAU from my nvidia gpu card, the 7 outputs device is HDEF from the integrated audio device.

From gfxutil -f HDEF:

HDEF is Realtek ALC899 (Vendor ID: 0x10EC0899).

I tried AudioOut from 0 to 7, same error.

I'm able to dump the codec from the OpenShell with HdaCodecDump, see attached.

Audio resources are in their place:

Not sure why OpenCore is reporting the address PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) instead of PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x2,0x0) as specified in the config.plist?

Do you think is it a bug?

I thought to open a github issue for this, but not sure where to place, if in "Bug in OpenCore or KEXTs" or in "Bug in tools or applications", and if this can be classified as a bug...I know vit9696 and all the devs have a lot of work to do and I don't want to make them waste time for nothing.

What do you think?

Thanks

dump.txt

Issue solved, thanks to vit9696, here is his reply, I think it can help some other people:

https://github.com/acidanthera/bugtracker/issues/864

So I simply changed the address in the config.plist (Audio section) from PciRoot(0x1)/Pci(0x2,0x0)  ---> which was the address reported by gfxutil, to PciRoot(0x0)/Pci(0x2,0x0) ---> which is the address seen by opencore, and now chime works good.

I wasn't talking about OpenCore 0.5.8 release I was talking OCBuilder.app download the release of that and run the app to compile OpenCore 0.5.8 automatically.

https://github.com/Pavo-IM/ocbuilder/releases/download/7.2.4/OCBuilder.app.zip

AfpsDriverLoader.efi didn't get compiled and is missing from the build after running that app. Have everything else I think.

Apparently you haven't been keeping up with current development of committed changes to OpenCore, ApfsDriverLoader.efi is no longer created because its built into OpenCore.efi. Please make sure you know what you are doing before submitting an issue.

MacBook Pro.zip

This is pretty important, hence the bump. CPU power management doesnt seem to work correctly nor does lid sleep which i hope is corrected when cpu pm is sorted.

Do i need HWP?

Yes, I confirm. I am now able to select the APFS volume for installation with the OpenCore debug package you provided and smbios MacBookPro13,1; earlier it did not allow me to select the APFS volume.

I did not however continued with the installation as I had already upgraded my installation with the workaround (using smbios MacBookPro14,1).

Many thanks for your help.

Mine doesn't go past down 1.2GHz as well. I asked this question I think a year ago and was informed that it is how new Macs behave. I can't remember which macOS version was giving me 800MHz idle before and which version started the 1.2GHz idle.

I'll try to find the post.

Will not work if ScanPolicy set to 0. Also, this feature does not work as show/hide like in Clover. Only shows, does not hide back again.

Hi guys,

I made the transition from ozmosis to OC without big problems and I'm now successfully booting Mojave with OC 0.5.7 and it's working great.

However, there are some concerns and problems that I would like to address:

• I have second SATA HD (APFS) that doesn't mount on boot. I can mount it with Disk Utility and it checks good. How to fix?

• My hack wakes every 2 hours with DarkWake from Normal Sleep [CDN] due to RTC/Maintenance. I know that's connected with WOL, and I need WOL, but it was working great on Oz and high sierra with darkwake=0. Powernap is disabled and I'm using iMac 14,2 bios.

• There are errors in the log that I don't know how to fix  or how serious they are:

(Lilu) VirtualSMC efend: @ authenticated restart support is unavailable (800000000000000E, 8)
...
(Lilu) SMCProcessor scpu: @ failed to get system model
...
(IONVMeFamily) <IONVMeFamily`IONVMeDebugAssert> AppleNVMe Assert failed: ( 0 != data )
...
(IOStorageFamily) <IOStorageFamily`dkreadwritecompletion(void*, void*, int, unsigned long long)> disk1s1: device is not readable.
...
(HFS) <HFS`hfs_mountfs> hfs_mountfs: buf_meta_bread failed with 13
(HFS) <HFS`hfs_mount> hfs_mount: hfs_mountfs returned error=13 for device unknown-dev
hfs_mountroot failed: 13
...
(pmtelemetry) <pmtelemetry`com_apple_driver_pmtelemetry::_pch_init()> Unsupported CPU

• There are also thousands of (IOAudioFamily) messages and a lot of (AppleHDA).

• And thousands of (Sandbox) <Sandbox`kernel_report> repeated messages like:

(Sandbox) <Sandbox`kernel_report> Sandbox: secd(322) deny(1) mach-lookup com.apple.lsd.modifydb
(Sandbox) <Sandbox`kernel_report> Sandbox: rapportd(344) deny(1) mach-lookup com.apple.lsd.modifydb
(Sandbox) <Sandbox`syscall_extension_consume> syscall_extension_consume failed: 22
...

Update:
Disk not mounting solved by cleaning /etc/fstab. Now working great.

Waking up every 2 hours (hopefully) solved with sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.mDNSResponder.plist ProgramArguments -array-add -DisableSleepProxyClient with SIP disabled, and darkwake=256. I think darkwake=0 would also worked. Without darkwake my hack wakes to black screen on WOL.

What remains are those errors in log that I already mentioned:
- (Lilu) VirtualSMC     efend: @ authenticated restart support is unavailable (800000000000000E, 8)

- (Lilu) SMCProcessor      scpu: @ failed to get system model

- (AppleACPIPlatform) <AppleACPIPlatform`newObjectFromACPIObject(acpi_object const*)> ACPI: cannot translate ACPI object 14

- (IONVMeFamily) <IONVMeFamily`IONVMeDebugAssert> AppleNVMe Assert failed: ( 0 != data )

- (pmtelemetry) <pmtelemetry`com_apple_driver_pmtelemetry::_pch_init()> Unsupported CPU

- (pmtelemetry) <pmtelemetry`com_apple_driver_pm_pch_reporter::setup(com_apple_driver_pmtelemetry*, IOReportLegend*)> Unsupported PCH

- (AppleMobileFileIntegrity) <AppleMobileFileIntegrity`AMFILoadTrustedKeysFromNVRam> AMFILoadTrustedKeysFromNVRam: no nvram variable

and buttload of (IOAudioFamily) and (Sandbox) messages.

System itself is stable. Booting from pcie ssd (1600/1600) takes about a minute and I think it should be faster.

Best regards,

Hi,

Was told that afpsdriverloader.efi was incorporated into Opencore.efi in another thread.  So I removed the efi driver, installed OS X, and wouldn’t you know it there was no afps partition detected until I added the efi driver back. Have been google searching for hours looking for an answer but can’t find much written about this. Someone care to comment?

afpsdriverloader.efi was incorporated into OpenCore 0.5.8 Beta only. Take a look in Differences.pdf and Sample.plist in GitHub repo, there are some modifications in config.plist.
