NVRAM reset, and just downloaded 0.6.3 (before I used Clover), also 11L with your default profile. Everything booted without a single issue, but still having 15 active ports for some reason 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/340936-audiogods-aorus-z390-master-patched-dsdt-efi-for-catalina-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/64/#findComment-2742922 Share on other sites

Ok once again: First bios has been updated to 11L then loaded yiur default profile for 11L before I used Clover, so I'm sure I have OC 0.6.3 installed NVAM has been reset - during the first boot Let me change it to NO and will let you know Should I have more than 15 ports active in Hackingtool2? Set to No you will only have 15 active ports. (All ports open but usb 2 only on the hub, internal, front case ports and the 2 usb 3 ports just below the usb 2 hub) @lygi Have you got leftovers of clover still in your system like RCscripts or anything like that cos if you do that will cause you a whole heap of troubles when using OpenCore. Both options don't make my red ports + usb-c active :/ Also just tested 0.6.3 1.1 with IGPU Disable - the same story. I can't reproduce your problem over here I'm afraid bud. everything is working as it should be on my build and I have asked a few other users of the EFI and both of them have all ports open and zero issues like yours so I'm abit lost to why its happening to you. If you stick the EFI on a install flash drive that's usb 3 and stick it in the port that's not working and then restart the system and f12 into the install does that work? If only Hackintool, did you select the 'broom' icon at the bottom of the section and then the refresh (2 semi circles) icon next to it? If you have the port limit set to Yes, have you removed/disabled the USBMap.kext? 2 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/340936-audiogods-aorus-z390-master-patched-dsdt-efi-for-catalina-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/64/#findComment-2742933 Share on other sites

If it’s working off the usb stick but not once booted into the os then that tells you that the problem is with the instal of Catalina and nothing to do with the EFI. you could try repairing your permissions and rebuilding via hackintool. 1 hour ago, lygi said: nope - haven't removed anything - just followed the manual. Should I remove this kext? Dont remove the usb kext to enable the quirk, this is true for amd systems but not for Intel, the way I’ve done it you leave the kext in place and the quirk will just map over it. I have spoken to various devs about this and I beleave the OC online guide has a reference on it too now. Benjamin Franklin
@lygi Three things to check: 1) Here’s a guide on cleaning up Clover’s residue: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/clover-conversion/ 2) Also if copying Audiogod’s latest EFI folder to your EFI partition, make sure you REPLACE the old folder and NOT merge the new with the old. 3) Plus, as Audiogod instructed, don’t use your old config.plist but just copy the values of your serial number, MLB and SUUID (and depending on your setup, the ROM value). 3 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/340936-audiogods-aorus-z390-master-patched-dsdt-efi-for-catalina-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/64/#findComment-2742958 Share on other sites

lygi
ok - after a few hours of playing with Big Sur and Open All USB - got a strange behavior, First of all - all ports ARE open, but red ports + type c don't recognize devices like switcher (Black Magic) or my Wacom tablet. USB drive works fine, but when you swap the drive a few times between ports, it stops working. It IS recognized, but when you want to browse it, is spinning wheel. Same with file transfer. it is thinking for a minute or two, and after that is starts copy files (but way slower than the first 'plug' after the restart. This only happens on red + type c ports. Also, my external devices different than USB stick never work, even after a restart. Gonna install fresh catalina on my second drive and check is it the same Raport from the battlefield: Fresh Catalina Lets talk only about Red USB + type C Now all ports are open. Printer USB 2.0: Doesn't work Tablet Wacom Intuos Pro model 2019 (USBC) - not working USB stick USB 2.0 - not working USB stick type C - working USB stick USB 3.0 - working Changing stick 3.0 between ports - working every time Blackmagic Atem mini Pro type C - not working USB C portbale monitor - not working USB 3 SD card reader with SD card inside - working Conclusion: unlocked ports are working for USB3.0/Type C data only. Today also tested this huge USB-C hub with HDMI network etc. Applies as above - everything which worked without hub working with the hub. Everything built in the hub (like HDMI out, network card, sd/tf card reader) doesn't work. AudioGod
@lygi I have a Dac on a usb 3.0 port, 2 midi keyboard, a drum machine and 2 other controllers all coming off a usb3 hub, a type c hub fully loaded with usb c (3.0) hard drives, a keyboard and mouse in the usb 2 hub plus I filled up all the other spare ports with a DVD Burner and USB keys of various types and everything works. I then removed the port limit and moved stuff all around so usb 2 was on usb 3 and still everything works. I have no idea what’s going on with you over there fella, it’s a bit of a baffle to me and I’ve been thinking about it trying to come up with a theory and I got nothing so far but one single question. Is your Z390 Master the original one or the updated version? If its the updated version then that could explain it and the mapping must differ somehow but I really do have huge doubts that they would change something like that for a refreshed model of the same board. As for the hub with hdmi, network etc etc, You sure that not a hub for thunderbolt for a Mac? USB-C is not Thunderbolt Edited November 6, 2020 by AudioGod 1 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/340936-audiogods-aorus-z390-master-patched-dsdt-efi-for-catalina-mini-guide-and-discussion/page/64/#findComment-2743181 Share on other sites
Benjamin Franklin
With this new setting I experience that my DAC (a dragonfly black that's on the front USB3 port of my case) quits after a while. If I pull it out and put it back in again it starts working. I guess that there's something weird going on with the power. Matgen84
Hi @AudioGod According to overclock.net forum, in addition to the USB fix, Z390 Master Bios Firmware F11m restores the missing "Core Current Limit(Amps)", "CPU Vcore/VAXG Protection", "CPU Core PLL Overvoltage(+mv)" settings and fixes the broken "Turbo Per Core Limit Control" setting. It also updates the microcode to DE.
